Waiting on Wednesday: Mirrored

March 11, 2015 Memes 10

BMR,WaitWednesdayWaiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s were we display a book that we can’t wait to read because it sounds so good. 🙂

Any fairy tale retelling fans out there then this pick is for you. I have enjoyed some of Alex Finn’s books and this one sounds really good. I am sort of hit and miss with fairy tale retellings but I do like to give them a try. 🙂 You got a bit of a wait though cause it don’t come out until September 15th!!

AlexFlinnsMirrored

Alex Flinn is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Beastly, and her latest fairy-tale retelling takes on the tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Mirrored is told in three viewpoints—Violet, the stepmother as a teen, coming into her powers and using them to make herself beautiful and defeat her rival; Celine, the Snow White character; and Goose, a friend of Celine’s who must come to her rescue and prove that bravery is more important than height. “I wrote the book because beauty, our attitudes and reactions to it, are among my favorite subjects,” says Flinn. “I wanted to write about one woman who would do anything to be the most beautiful and another who sees it as a burden.”

So what are you waiting on?

I do love fairytales….and I am surprised that I haven’t yet read any of these retellings, since all around me in my home are vignettes of fairytale images, both in plush and in resin. My grown kids laugh at me.

This one looks very good…thanks for sharing.

Here’s mine: “A WEEK AT THE LAKE”

Interesting Stormi! I didn’t know about this new release. I love retellings, and that blurb sounds promising. Thanks for the intro 🙂 I’ll keep it in mind.

I love Alex Flinn. I was so excited to learn that a new book was coming! Each retelling this author writes is unlike any other retelling I’ve seen. I’m excited to see how Snow White is handled with the different points of view. Great pick!
