Quitting her husband's house and moving back in with her horrible family, Lady Maccon becomes the scandal of the London season in the third book of the NYT bestselling Parasol Protectorate series.
Queen Victoria dismisses her from the Shadow Council, and the only person who can explain anything, Lord Akeldama, unexpectedly leaves town. To top it all off, Alexia is attacked by homicidal mechanical ladybugs, indicating, as only ladybugs can, the fact that all of London's vampires are now very much interested in seeing Alexia quite thoroughly dead.
While Lord Maccon elects to get progressively more inebriated and Professor Lyall desperately tries to hold the Woolsey werewolf pack together, Alexia flees England for Italy in search of the mysterious Templars. Only they know enough about the preternatural to explain her increasingly inconvenient condition, but they may be worse than the vampires -- and they're armed with pesto.BLAMELESS is the third book of the Parasol Protectorate series: a comedy of manners set in Victorian London, full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

Barb and I are still going through the Parasol Protectorate series and I do think I might have liked this one a bit more than she did. So after checking out my review go see what she has to say over at Booker T’s Review!

Here is what I thought

Well, with how the second one ended I really wasn’t sure what I was going to think of this one. I also can’t really talk much about it without spoiling the end of the second one so it’s going to be a short review!

Alexia is having a bad time because of things that happened at the end of the second one. To make matters worse it seems like everyone around wants to hunt her down and kill her! Lord Maccon is still a bit of an idiot through most of this one but seems to come to his senses towards the end…men!

I like Alexia’s quirkiness though at times it can be a bit much. Ivy seems more likable in this one. I felt sorry for something that happened to one of Lord Akeldama’s drones I think they are call, anyway he was his favorite man. Lord Maccon is still pretty much at the bottom of my favorites list so hopefully he can get back up to the top of the list with the next book.

Overall, I enjoyed it though having people hunting Alexia all the time trying to hurt her and now because of this new thing is starting to get kind of old. I have high hopes for the next one and hope I like it more!

More of a 3.75 star but I didn’t think it had enough pull for me to give it a full 4 stars. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Narrator

Emily does a great job of narrating this and makes it very enjoyable to listen too.

I do think I liked it a bit more than you but overall it wasn’t the best one. I do have high hopes for the next one. ๐Ÿ™‚
