I realized that I have listened two a few of Heather Graham’s Krewe of Hunters books but forgot all about reviewing them. With the exception of the last one it’s been to long since I listened to the others to really grant them their own review so I decided to just do three short reviews to get caught up. 🙂
The Unseen is the start of a new branch of Hunters. Jackson Crow recruits Logan Roundtree to head up the Texas division along with Kelsey O’Brien.
They are there to check out a hotel that is known for being haunted. In the Longhorn Saloon room 207 is a scary room. It was the room where a woman was brutally murdered a long time ago, and now woman are being murdered again in a similar fashion.
Each Krewe of Hunter is recruited for their paranormal abilities and Logan and Kelsey can both see ghost. Logan knows a soldier from the Alamo who sort of helps them figure things out because of what he has seen.
Though I miss the other hunters I quickly adapted to this new krewe and really enjoyed this one! 4 stars
This one uses the new Texas krewe and is about a remake of an old movie about an Egyptian priest. When a young woman is brutally murdered and her boyfriend, the son of a movie mogal is ranting about the Egyptian priest being the killer, the crew is called in.
Sean was recruited for his computer and film skills and is known by the father of the man being accused of murder. Madison also works on the film crew and has been asked to show Sean around and then she gets wrapped up in the investigation when someone goes after her.
The coolest thing about this book is that she talks to the ghost of Humphrey Bogart!! 🙂 I have to say that I thought Luke Daniels did a great job with Bogarts voice! 🙂
This one was a lot of fun and I am getting to know the new krewe a lot better. Loved it! 4 stars
This one is about a sunken ship and right at the beginning a man is killed while diving and they think it’s because of the curse. There is a mummy aboard that ship and Egyptian mythology always has curses attached to mummies. Katya is called in to investigate. She is part of the Texas krewe and use to be a medical examiner but she also dives as a hobby so she will be able to dive down with the expedition to check out the wreckage. They are doing a documentary and Will Chan is brought in from the original krewe to help with all the computer work.
Kat and Will do not hit it off at first at all, they bump heads so much that it felt very unreal when they actually got together. I just couldn’t get into the relationship in this one, though I enjoyed the story.
It also shows you that reading in order is a good thing as it’s using characters introduced in the first few books (Will) and putting him with the newer krewe (Kat).
I really the story line even if I wasn’t a fan of the romance in this one. I can’t wait start in on the next one!
And as always Luke Daniels was awesome as the narrator!!!
