This post will cover Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Review, The Sunday Post hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer and It’s Monday! What are you reading hosted by Book Journey.
This week as been fairly quiet. I decided since it was my last week before I start my job that I would just lounge since I won’t be able to once I start work. I did work a little on my book shelves as I am still trying to organize them and write down all the book in a spreadsheet.
Wow I only have one review this week, I am a slacker!
Stormi’s Reviews:
Mary: The Summoning by Hillary Monahan (This one has been the best out of all four YA horrors that I have read lately, even if I didn’t think it was scary.)
The Green Teen Cookbook by Laurane Marchive
Kathy’s Reviews:
The Fourteenth Goldfish by Jennifer L. Holm
Sun Storm by Asa Larrson
Fool’s Assassin by Robin Hobb (I have always wanted to try this series since I seen it..Kathy is making me want to read it now.)
Personal by Lee Child (I need to read this author as well. So many authors so little time.)
Shattered by Erin McCarthy
Netgalley ARC’s:

Parks & Recreation meets The Blue Collar Comedy Tour in this third ebook in Molly Harper’s Bluegrass series of contemporary romances: A love triangle of colleagues heats up the winter lodge where they get snowed in for a week.
Kentucky Tourism Commission employee and executive assistant extraordinaire Kelsey is known around the office for having everything under control. So it’s not surprising that she and her boss, Sadie, have everything planned to the second for the office winter retreat. But there are things even Kelsey can’t micromanage. An unprecedented snowstorm smothers half of Kentucky and knocks out the power, closes the roads, and generally shuts down the state.
Luckily, the lodge has working fireplaces and enough food to keep the staff from turning on each other like something out of The Shining. Kelsey wouldn’t mind being stuck inside if it wasn’t for the tension with her not-so-secret crush, Charlie, the office’s statistician. But handsome Ranger Luke, the lodge’s only employee on hand, is there to take Kelsey’s mind off her discomfort.
Even though this weekend is supposed to be a planning session for KTC, Kelsey can’t help her mind from wandering and finds herself conflicted over Luke and Charlie. Someone’s love will keep her warm, but whose will it be?
I got so excited when I got an email saying that this one was coming out and if I wanted they would send me a link!!! Squeeeeee! Thank you Pocket Book!
Billy grinned. “Oh, New York,” he whispered. “We’re gonna have so much fun.”
I Hunt Killers introduced the world to Jazz, the son of history’s most infamous serial killer, Billy Dent.
In an effort to prove murder didn’t run in the family, Jazz teamed with the police in the small town of Lobo’s Nod to solve a deadly case. And now, when a determined New York City detective comes knocking on Jazz’s door asking for help, he can’t say no. The Hat-Dog Killer has the Big Apple–and its police force–running scared. So Jazz and his girlfriend, Connie, hop on a plane to the big city and get swept up in a killer’s murderous game.
Both the stakes and the body count are higher in this suspenseful and unstoppable sequel from acclaimed author Barry Lyga.
This is the sequel to I Hunt Killers and maybe it will give me that push I need to read the first one. 🙂
Thanks Little Brown and Company!
Edelwiess ARC’s:
When Stephen is forced to move back to the nowhere town where his father grew up, he’s already sure he’s not going to like it. Spencer, Michigan, is like a town straight out of a Hitchcock movie, with old-fashioned people who see things only in black-and-white. But things start looking up when Stephen meets the mysterious twins Cara and Devon. They’re total punks–hardly the kind of people Stephen’s dad wants him hanging out with–but they’re a breath of fresh air in this backward town. The only problem is, Cara and Devon don’t always get along, and as Stephen forms a friendship with the charismatic Devon and something more with the troubled Cara, he starts to feel like he’s getting caught in the middle of a conflict he doesn’t fully understand. And as Devon’s group of friends, who hang out in a cemetery they call The Playground, get up to increasingly reckless activities to pass the summer days, Stephen worries he may be in over his head.
Stephen’s fears prove well-founded when he learns of Spencer’s dark past. It seems the poor factory town has a history of “bad times,” and many of the town’s oldest residents attribute the bad times to creatures right out of an urban legend. The legend goes that the only way the town will prosper again is if someone makes a sacrifice to these nightmarish creatures. And while Stephen isn’t one to believe in old stories, it seems Devon and his gang might put a lot of faith in them. Maybe even enough to kill for them. Now, Stephen has to decide what he believes, where his allegiances lie, and who will really be his friend in the end.
A classic mystery by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; the first in the Sherlock Holmes series. See how Holmes and Watson met for the first time. A baffling murder with puzzling clues and evil villains takes place and the cocaine-addicted, cold and quirky detective, with his razor-sharp deductive mind and obsessive attention to detail, is on the case. Told from the journals of his faithful companion, Dr. John Watson, join us for a trip to 221B Baker Street and the beginning of the legend of Sherlock Holmes..
Huge fan of Sherlock Holmes and it’s been so long since I read anything of Sir Author Conan Doyle and this looks like it could be fun with all the cool new illustrations by illustrator Gris Grisly!
HarperCollins kills me on Edelwiess when they put out their new lot of books. I did pretty good this time though because they had a lot more contemporary that I am just not into. Thanks Harper!!!
Print ARC:
Bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely books Melissa Marr’s first contemporary YA novel is a twisted southern gothic tale of obsession, romance, and murder. A killer is obsessed with Eva Tilling. Can she stop him, or will he claim her?
When Eva Tilling wakes up in the hospital, she’s confused—who in her sleepy little North Carolina town could have hit her with their car? And why? But before she can consider the question, she finds that she’s awoken with a strange new skill: the ability to foresee people’s deaths when they touch her. While she is recovering from the hit-and-run, Nate, an old flame, reappears, and the two must traverse their rocky past as they figure out how to use Eva’s power to keep her friends—and themselves—alive. But while Eva and Nate grow closer, the killer grows increasingly frantic in his attempt to get to Eva.
For the first time, New York Times bestselling author Melissa Marr has applied her extraordinary talent to contemporary realism. Chilling twists, unrequited obsession, and high-stakes romance drive this Gothic, racy thriller—a story of small-town oppression and salvation. Melissa’s fans, and every YA reader, will find its wild ride enthralling.
Thank you HarperCollins!

How are you like The School of Good and Evil. I feel like it is taking forever to read but I love the story, I believe it would make a great movie 🙂 I don’t think I’ll be finished with it before the read-a-thon is over but I am happy I read it.
ladystorm
Michelle,
Yeah I hadn’t heard of Made For You until It came in my mailbox but it looks interesting and I read it’s taking a little bit from the authors real life as she had a stalker..then she just added more elements.
I am a little over half way through with TSoGaE and I don’t think I will get it finished either..lol. I didn’t realize it was almost 500 pages when I started it or I might not have..lol. I am determined to finish it but it probably won’t be till tomorrow. 🙂 I am really enjoying it to and I think it would make a good movie also.
I kind of want to slap Sophie and say, “Your so EVIL” lol. She does the more horrible things in the name of being good..lol. She just doesn’t get it.
Beth @ Beth's Books
Lots of new pretty ARCs! I hope you enjoy them. Have a good week and happy reading 🙂

Thanks, I have worked this job before so the training right now is a bit boring. I have already had a look in the bookstore and will probably spending a few bucks in there when I get my first paycheck..lol. 🙂 Have a great rest the week and weekend!
Sapphire
Your books look interesting, especially The School of Good and Evil, though a lot of people seem to have trouble reading it! And I’ve heard of Fool’s Assassin, mean to read it soon.
Thank You for visiting our blog! 🙂
ladystorm
The School of Good and Evil has been a pretty fun read but I have gotten a bit bogged down in the length. I don’t think it needed to be almost 500 pages and so the ending seems to be dragging a bit.
Jen @ YA Romantics
Ooh, good to know that Mary: The Summoning isn’t too scary. Maybe I’ll try that one.
Thanks for your comment on my blog — I’d forgotten about the 2nd person POV CYOA books. lol!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Jen @ YA Romantics
