The Week In Review #95

July 3, 2016 Memes 32

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Not a lot happened this week, it was hot even though it rained a couple of days. It seemed like the rain made it hotter with the muggy humidity…blah. I get lazy when it’s real hot out and didn’t want to do anything…lol.

Went and seen Legend of Tarzan, I will admit mostly for the eye candy but it looked like a good movie as well. Dad was wanting to see it since it’s been a long time since they did a Tarzan movie. We both enjoyed it. It really was better than I thought it would be. πŸ™‚

Garden is doing okay but I am having problems with my tomatoes rotting on the bottom. I read up and I think I need more calcium in my soil so this week I will try that and see if it helps. My spagahetti squash is doing pretty good as I see about ten of them growing pretty good. One is turning Yellow!! πŸ™‚

Other than that not much to talk about this week. πŸ™‚

I really liked Tarzan though I had a hard time not seeing him as Eric on True Blood…lol.

I hope The Invisible Library is good but right now it’s a bit slow, so I shall see. πŸ™‚

Good luck with your garden, I’m so jealous of people who can garden! The spaghetti squash sounds like it’s doing well for you πŸ™‚ I know – the heat has been rough, Buffy gets mad at me when I try to go for jogs – she tries to turn us around and head home when we’re only a mile in! I’ve been letting her honestly, the heat has been brutal. Stay cool my friend πŸ™‚

I am just learning how to garden, last year was horrid and this year is better but I learned some things I need to do different next time so it’s a learning process but hopefully eventually I will have a great garden. πŸ™‚

LOL, no no Me Jane. πŸ™‚

I got some stuff to put in the soil for my veggies so I am hoping it helps with the tomato problem. πŸ™‚ Only time will tell.

      Have a great week!

Thanks, bought some fertilizer with a lot of calcium in it so I am hoping that will work. πŸ™‚ We also got a lot of rain so fingers crossed. πŸ™‚

I want to see Tarzan too, it looks fun. The crepes of Wrath looks fun, and I hope Invisible Library picks up for you. It took me a bit to get into it and I actually let it sit for like a week… lol

I will give it a bit more time to see if it picks up. I am thinking it might have been better for me as an audio but I am on 16% so I will give it some time. πŸ™‚

    • Stormi

Only went and see it cause dad wanted to or I would have probably waited for DVD as I don’t go to the movies much as it’s to expensive. πŸ™ It’s hard to resist a cozy! πŸ™‚

Hm. If the weather has been warm and muggy, your tomatoes might have been zapped by blight – they turn brown and then rot before they ripen. Generally, once the plant is afflicted, I’ve found it spreads throughout:(. However there is light at the end of the tunnel – if you find your fruit continues to be affected, pick all the tomatoes while still green and make green tomato chutney. Delia Smith has a fabulous recipe that has my husband campaigning for growing them just to pick them green to make into chutney. Loved your review of His Majesty’s Dragon – it reminded me all over again why I love the series so much. Have a great week and many thanks for swinging by earlier.

I will have to keep that in mind about my tomatoes though I have never did anything with a green tomato. πŸ™‚

Happy 4th July Stormi! It sounds like you’re doing a good job with the garden despite a few hiccups!

And I’m not fond of the heat either. It makes me terribly lazy so I completely understand.

Thanks, I hope I can get my hiccups fixed as I got some stuff to put on my maters. πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy The Invisible Library. I was just approved for the second one and am thrilled. You are just plain evil with your Kindle purchases because since they were both still really cheap, I had to grab them too. Hope you are able to save your tomatoes. Its supposed to rain all day here to tomorrow, I hope to get some reading done.

I will admit that it took till about 30% before I really got into The Invisible Library but I am liking it now.

I put bone meal fertilizer around my plants as it has a lot of calcium in it in hopes that it will help my tomato plants and we are getting some good rain so fingers crossed! πŸ™‚

    • Stormi

I hope I do too as it seems that everyone I know is really enjoying it! I need a good fun creepy story! πŸ™‚

    • Stormi

I normally wait till DVD or something but dad really wanted to go watch it…lol. I don’t get to go to the movies often so I couldn’t help but want to go. πŸ™‚

Sounds like a good week even if not much happened! Tomatoes can be so finicky! My mom does a great job with hers but she’s been growing them for forty years now so I’m sure she had the hang of it decades ago. Lol. Looks like you got some great books too! I saw that Crepes of Wrath on Lola’s blog too. I love the title.

I had a good week and the weather here’s been pretty good. I made the first book in my cozy mystery series free and it’s been flying off the virtual shelves. Lol. More like electrons zipping down the internets. We’re heading to the pool later! Can’t wait!

    • Stormi

Yeah, gardening in general is an art form that takes several years to perfect and this is only my second year. πŸ™‚ I will figure it all out eventually.

I seen that your book was free and grabbed it. Can’t wait to try it. πŸ™‚

Glad you enjoyed Tarzan, it does look like a pretty good movie. Sorry about the tomatoes rotting some :-/ But at least the squash is coming in! Homegrown veggies are always the best, though I’m not a gardener myself, so I have to stick to the store-bought stuff lol.

I also have Burned by Magic, it sounds interesting! Enjoy your books and have a great week!
