The Week In Review #92

June 12, 2016 Memes 19

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So this week has been filled with getting ready to have a visitor next week (not someone I am looking forward to but I will be a good person and just host.) We are going to be going to Silver Dollar City (theme park up by Branson) on Monday and Tuesday of next week so won’t be around on the blog much till Wednesday. Not a whole lot of other things to do around where I live to entertain…lol…so it should be interesting.

Wow, it’s been pretty hot here this week but I am not complaining at least it’s not raining all the time. We are suppose to get some rain next week (go figure when we are going to do something it rains…lol). My Garden is doing pretty good, soon I am going to do a post to show you some of the veggies and how they are growing. I got lots of green tomatoes, some cucumbers, zucs and lots of spaghetti squash and I found one on there that was pretty good size though still green and growing. 🙂

What you might have missed on my blog

I reviewed this week – The Uninvited by Heather Graham, The Single Undead Moms Club by Molly Harper

Kathy reviewed this week – Midnight Mark by Chloe Neill, Extreme Prey by John Stanford, and City of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong

Books I have added

Netgalley

Midsummer Nights Mischief Show Time Last Seen Leaving
  • Midsummer Night’s Mischief is cozy mystery involving Wiccans. I couldn’t pass this up.
  • Show Time is for a blog tour.
  • Last Seen Leaving was a wish that was granted! 🙂

Bought books

girl in the ice Big Vamp on Campus
  • Seen a review of The Girl in the Ice and it sounded like a good crime novel and was only .99 so I grabbed it.
  • I have had Big Vamp on Campus pre-ordered for a while now. 🙂 (Though I will probably end up getting it on audio as that is the only way to really read a Molly Harper book as the narrator is awesome! 🙂 )

Audiobooks bought

The passage second grave night is watching
  • The Passage was on sale and since I have heard so much about it thought I would try it. 🙂
  • Second Grave on the Right – well I just recently finished book one so couldn’t help but grab it with a credit.
  • The Night is Watching – I am sure everyone knows about my Krewe of Hunters obsession so grabbed it with a credit too. 🙂

Books read last week

Calamity Cafe HP2 Wickedly Wonderful Crime and Poetry

I’m not really much of a rereader but I don’t mind trying a book I liked again on audio and that is what I am doing slowly with Harry Potter.

Currently reading

And the trees crept in may queen murders Blissed

Had to put Calamity Cafe in front of the ones I was reading, so it but these two back again. I am about half way through May Queen Murders and just a few pages into And the Trees Crept In.

What might be up next

Vanishing Throne_final front cover.pdf Madness of Mercury

Well, I don’t do it often as I have been grabbing one every now and then with a credit from audible.com.Then I listen while I am out in my garden so it takes me a while to get through one…lol. It will be a while till I get to book three cause I have to purchase it first and it’s not high priority. 🙂

Sounds like your garden is doing great! I’m still having no luck with my tomatoes! 14 plants and they are still only 2 feet tall after several months and no toms yet. 🙁
I’m interested in what your thoughts are on ‘And the Trees Crept In’. Just added that one to my TBR.
    Have a great week!

Need to learn to make my own seed for next year and I need a bigger back yard. My garden just didn’t happen this year, I still might get a few tomatoes and peppers but it’s either to hot outside or raining. I can’t seem to find a nice enough day to do it. Sad because I love doing my garden.

Enjoy your visitor however I think I might know who it is so I will message you later 🙂

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! ox

You know it, I am determined to catch up on the Krewe of Hunters series…lol.

I hope that everything goes smoothly with your visitor and that the weather cooperates.
I haven’t read the Charley Davidson series yet though I keep hearing that the books are good. I actually bought the first book a few years ago when it was on sale for Kindle.

I am rereading the Harry Potter books on audio too! I just finished listening to Goblet of Fire and started The Order of the Phoenix. I have listened to the audio books many times but I just realized it’s been awhile since I reread the print versions and I miss that. Maybe I should have started with the books instead of audios but I needed something good to listen to on my work commute.

I kept putting on Charley Davidson and now I am kicking myself as it’s such a fun series and so now I have to work hard to catch up as there are ten of them! 🙂 You should try it!

That is cool that you are listening to HP too! You are so ahead of me. I have to wait a few months to snatch up the next one so it’ a slow reread but that is okay as I am not a die hard fan. 🙂 I just love Jim Dale and so wanted to try the audios. 🙂

I’m interested in seeing what you think of “Girl in the Ice.” I actually think I have it on my Kindle and picked it up when it was on sale for $1.99. I have always been tempted by the cover. We haven’t had much rain either. Hope it holds out for your trip. We’ve had a pretty busy weekend so far but I hope to get some reading done this evening. We went to a car show yesterday evening with my grandpa. He collects antique cars. Hope you have a great week!

Good luck w/ your visit and enjoy the theme park. Hope the rain holds off but it’s not too hot. We had beautiful sunny weather earlier this week, not too hot, but then it got hot late in the week.

Love tomatoes from the garden! 🙂

The Madness of Mercury was fun and I loved Crime and Poetry. I tried to sign up for the blog tour of Midsummer Night’s Mischief but I haven’t heard yet whether I got in. The other cozies look interesting, too. And I’m a big fan of the Harry Potter books, whether in print or in audio (US version.) One of these days, I will try listening to the UK version if I can find a copy in the US.

I hope your visit goes well and the rain doesn’t put too much of a damper on things! (pun intended)

SQUEE..you got the Passage…brilliant trilogy 🙂 Bwahaha..on the house guest. You crack me up. I am looking forward to mine but occasionally we have visitors and I want to hide. Here is a tip…but a bottle of wine, liquor etc under the bathroom cabinet..and go in and chug a little when you aren’t feeling the love…it makes it all better!

I started reading the Charley Davidson series and I love it. The audiobooks are hilarious and I’m on book 5 now. I hope you have fun with your visitor and the weather is nice. Have a great week!

I like the look of Last Seen Leaving Stormi! And looking forward to the garden pics.

Sorry to hear you’re not looking forward to your visitor, but hopefully the time will go quickly!

I know a thing or two about unwanted visitors. Or rather, I was one. It’s not the feel goods. I hope things go smoothly and your outing isn’t ruined by the rain. It’s been getting hot here as well, 104 today! Looking forward to the garden pictures!
