The Week In Review #86

April 24, 2016 Misc. 15

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Weather has been really nice this week and so I have been doing a lot of planting, I just hope the veggies that I direct sowed into the garden beds do well. I am having a little trouble with my outside dog Molly walking around in my garden beds!!

Monday’s I am going to start having a post called How My Garden Grows so that you all can see some of the hassles I am having and pictures of my little plants, etc. Hopefully at some point you will see veggies! ๐Ÿ™‚ (This post is borrowed from Michelle at Because reading with her permission. ๐Ÿ™‚ )

So this coming Wednesday my dad goes in for knee replacement surgery and I am a bit stressed out cause I can’t have my little fur babies in the house. They have never had to stay outside before and I am worried about how they will take it. They are cover hogs and now they have to stay outside. It’s the one part of going to BEA that is stressing me out is having to rely on my cousin and brother to look in on them and feed them while I am gone. ๐Ÿ™ I am not married nor do I have kids so they are my babies and I am afraid the stress on them of being in a different environment will not be good. I am worried. ๐Ÿ™

Tried to do my best with the Dewey 24 hour read-a-thon but only made it to about hour 18 or so before falling asleep, but I knew that would happen as I am not a night owl…lol.

Our biggest garden problem is damn cats! One of our neighbours has FIVE and we are forever chasing them out. I hate the damn things. If a neighbour’s dog was pooping all over your garden you can do something about it and the owner is held to account but cat owners just get away with it. It drives me nuts.

Hope you have a good week and that your father recovers rapidly from his operation. You had a very good book haul this week and I’ll be interested to see what you make The Ferals – it seemed rather hardcore for a children’s book… This is my Weekly Wrap-up

Can’t wait to see your gardening posts. Congrats on your readathon. Saturday’s are always busy for me because I have to go visit and help my grandfather, who lives about 30 minutes away the first half of the day. Then the second half I’m usually wiped. I am really looking forward to the next book in the Veronica Speedwell series. Hope you are enjoying The Demonist.

I look forward to your gardening posts. I’m no good at gardening IRL but I enjoy it vicariously!

I hope your fur babies will be OK, especially while you’re at BEA. And I hope your dad’s surgery goes well.

Have a good week, and enjoy your new books!

I bought plants yesterday and started prepping my beds so I may have a garden this year after all! I hope all goes well with your dad’s knee surgery and the fur babies being outside. Have fun at BEA! How exciting! I’m sure the fur babies will do great but I bet they’ll be thrilled to be back hogging the covers when you get home. Enjoy your new books (that Maddie Day is so tempting me!) Have a great week!

Good luck with your dad’s surgery and with the fur babies. I’m sure they’ll be fine. It’s hard not to worry though… I love veggies from the garden but with all the critters around here (squirrels and rabbits are always eating every thing) I’m not sure a garden would make it! Maybe… ๐Ÿ™‚

Grilled for Murder looks fun and I like the cover of whispers in the Mist. Looks mysterious!

I can understand your stress re your fur babies… I hope your dad’s surgery goes well. Perhaps he’ll be mobile enough to have them back inside by the time you go to BEA. (Is it in a fortnight’s time?)

I’m glad the weather has improved though and good luck with the planting!

Freddy has a knack for going where he isn’t supposed to in the garden, too, Stormi… I hope that as he grows he’ll be better at understanding – and obeying – my orders ๐Ÿ˜‰
I’m looking forward to your gardening posts, it might give me some ideas about other vegetables we can grow as well.
Your new books look really good… I’m hoping to be very good and not add many new books these two coming weeks, as I’m sure BEA will be a bit crazy for that ๐Ÿ˜‰
Have a wonderful week and happy reading. I’ll be sending good, healing thoughts to your dad on Wednesday.

Good thoughts to your father while he gets his surgery. My grandfather said it was one of the best decision he ever made. He got both of his done. I wish he had gotten them done sooner so he could’ve had good knees for a longer period of time before his death, but oh well. He had a few great years.

I’m the same way, even when I leave my pets with DH. He is fine taking care of them, but I always feel like he isn’t going to do as good of a job as I do. I don’t have any kids, so the puppy and my two horses are my children. I even want to strangle them sometimes like children. LOL. I hope you have fun at BEA. I wish I could be there with you.

You’ll get plants coming in soon enough. We’ve had more than plenty of rain down here. Care to move? haha I feel the same way about Baby. She is my baby. I don’t trust anyone but the man to keep her. I would never allow Baby to be kept outside – someone would steal her! I hope your relatives do a good job. Have fun at BEA!
