So I am going to be brave and show my first animation, it’s really quick cause it’s only 6 seconds. Our next one will be longer and more elaborate and it’s worrying me!!! I have an idea of what I am going to do but it will be the first time I have actually put together a whole scene since starting my classes. I have made things but never a background, etc!!!! We have to create a scene and have as many things as we can animated and it will be like a loop kind.

Okay so I think it looks horrible so be nice! The lighting isn’t right so the red ball looks orange. πŸ™‚ So not sure if the sound came out but what happens is I start with a ball, it turns into Pennywise, he chuckles, a shot rings out, then a hole appears in his forehead and like a balloon he deflates into a blood drop that turns back into the ball. LOL πŸ™‚

Let me know if this doesn’t work.

So the weather here is pretty up and down. We had one day that the high was only 66 and the low was in the low 40’s…ahem that is not fall weather!! Finally it is back in the 70’s and 80’s! I am not looking forward to colder weatherΒ  even if I love OCTOBER! πŸ™‚

What I watched

This month I have totally gorged myself on tv for some reason…lol. Normally I just use TV as a background noise playing my favorite shows I have seen hundreds of times but this month I have been watching things I actually have to pay attention to as I haven’t seen them. Still watching Once Upon a Time but its losing it’s appeal as I read season 6. So I have only watched a few episodes of that season and think I will probably continue in small doses. On Acorn TV I started as Australian drama called A Place to Call Home and boy is it dramatic but something about those accents seem to draw me do their drama more than American drama…lol…cause I also started watching 800 Words again and it too is a Australia Drama and I am really enjoying both though there are some characters I would like to smack especially in APTCH!!!

I need to watch the first episode of Manifest and see what it’s about and then in October some shows I am curious about (The Rookie) starts so I am sure I will continue my TV binging but maybe not as much…lol.

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

So this is what happens when you can’t sleep and have insomnia and get on Netgalley!!! I haven’t been this bad in a while….lol. *looks all innocent*

  • The Spellbook of Katrina Van Tassel – A Sleepy Hollow Retelling, I am always down for that!
  • The Au Pair –Β A grand estate, terrible secrets, and a young woman who bears witness to it all.
  • Let the Dead Keep Their Secrets – It’s book three in the Gilded Age mysteries and I really liked the first two so couldn’t help but grab this one too!
  • Stratagem –Β A High-Stakes Simulation Adventure Leaves Grayson Thibodeaux the Prime Suspect. . .for Murder. Set in New Orleans which is a setting I enjoy so it’s no wonder I clicked on this one…lol.
  • How to Fracture a Fairy Tale – It’s a bunch of short story retellings of fairy tales, I don’t normally do short stories so not sure why I clicked this one but I think it’s cause of the words fairy tale. πŸ™‚
  • Midwinter’s Tale -The fourth book in the Lucky Paws Petsitting mysteries and since I just finished the third one last week I am excited to get into this one.
  • The Novel Art of Murder – The third book in the Mystery Bookshop mystery series. I haven’t read the second one yet but Barb and I plan on buddy reading it in November so we will be ready for this one. πŸ™‚

  • Predators – I am all for an African safari gone wrong horror style read. πŸ™‚

Books read last week

I was a reading fool this week!!!! Between working on my class projects or messing on the computer it allowed for lots of audio time. Then I managed to get in a print book and ebook! Hopefully this mojo continues into October!!

  • In Your Shoes – Not my normal read and extremely sad in spots but had a cute ending. Overall it was okay.
  • Shadow Dancing – Love this series and this was a very good one!!!!!
  • The Cat of Baskerville – not a favorite series but a likable one and I enjoyed this.
  • Hooked on Ewe – Quickly becoming a favorite series this is just book two but I really liked it. Oh heck I just really like those Scottish accents on the audio…lol. πŸ˜‰
  • Pawprints and Predicaments – Such a cute cozy series and now I am ready for the one above that I hauled. πŸ™‚

  1. OMG! Stop putting your work down! That is awesome! You made an animation, not a lot of people can say that. Be proud of your work even if its not 100 perfect it’s still pretty awesome! Loved it! πŸ™‚

I see you went on the same binge read as me! lol. I just couldn’t help myself.

Once Upon a Time was awesome until the last season. I just sort of lost interest and was made they continued when it should have been done.

The weather was still a little too warm for me. Today is gorgeous in the low 60s and I cold live with that! πŸ™‚

Have a great week, Stormi! Miss you lots and lots! Happy Reading! ox

    • Stormi

Okay okay, lol. Just very self conscience about my work. πŸ™‚ I do think it is pretty cool and boy is this next one going to put me to the test!!! πŸ™‚

      Miss you too!!!! ox

  2. That was so cool, Stormi! I love that you deflated Pennywise. LOL I’ve been binging Once Upon A Time. Started at the beginning and now into the last season. Kind of slow though and I’ve went on to other shows for now. Can’t wait for more Doctor Blake! I see you got Predators. That was killer and I’ll be reviewing it Friday.

    • Stormi

I am glad you enjoyed Predator! I am going to try and get to it this month as it looks like the perfect October read. πŸ™‚

  3. Ha ha take that Pennywise. πŸ™‚ And I want to try Manifest too- I’m really curious!

I’m thinking of getting Katrina van Tassel, it looks good! Headless Horseman!! lol

    • Stormi

Yeah, the clown haters in my class really liked that I killed him and deflated him…lol. You should totally get Katrina Van Tassel!! πŸ™‚

  4. Yay for reading and all your Netgalley haul. I have wanted to try something by Jane Yolen. The dogs on the cover of The Novel ARt of Murder look just like my Gina. You’re so brave to do videos and animation. That’s too much like graphics and I’m graphically challenged. Enjoy this fall lovely weather and your new books. Anne – Books of My Heart

Yeah, went a bit crazy with the book grabs but oh well. πŸ™‚ I will see if I can contain myself this week but I doubt it. lol Animation is fun but very tedious and I have a new admiration for animated cartoons! Especially stop motion ones! What takes an hour and a half to watch takes like years to actually animate!

    • Stormi

Yeah, I think by season 5 OUAT was losing its appeal and they should have wrapped it up. They let it run to long.

  5. I think your animation looks great. The more you talk about it, the more amazed I am at the work that goes into it. I can’t imagine the time a full-length movie would take to make. I decided to read Coraline instead of Something Wicked but I still might grab it from the library when I go this month. I’m afraid it will be too slow for me. Some great looking books here and hey, you’re allowed a Netgalley slip up every once in a while.

    • Stormi

Yeah, taking this course has me really admiring the time that goes into an animated show from cartoons to movies! Especially when I think about how they had to do things in the 50’s compared to digital art today. Hope you like Coraline! And I hope listening to Something Wicked will make it not so slow if it is. πŸ™‚

  6. That was so cool! I couldn’t hear the chuckle but I enjoyed the visual. Impressive! I haven’t watched Once Upon a Time but it’s on my list to get around to watching at some point. Too bad about the 6th season not being a favorite but I’ve found that’s not all that unusual with long running series. It feels like they have to ramp up the crazy or that all the good ideas are gone. I’m looking forward to your thoughts on The Novel Art of Murder. That series has been on my radar since it started.
