The Week In Review #70

January 3, 2016 Memes 40

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Wow, I can’t believe this is the first Sunday of the new year. I hope 2016 is a good year for all of us and hope that you had fun ringing in the new year.

I am ringing in the new year with a cough and throat problems still, so on Monday I am going to use the emergency credit card that I just got so that I can see a doctor in hopes of getting some meds that will get rid of it. I am still off of work and need to be better before going back cause some days I can hardly talk and it will be hard to do my job with no voice. I am praying it won’t be nothing bad as it’s just a small credit limit so I don’t want to use to much of it. We sound a doctor who only charges $65 for an appointment and supplies his own meds as my aunt says that he comes and buys them from her pharmacy so I am hoping that means he might give out samples and it won’t cost as much. She said that he is sick and tired of how other doctors charge so much to help people so praying it won’t cost me much.

In the bookish world I managed to add a couple books to my 2015 reading and made it 190 like I was hoping too. I am setting my goal this year to 200 in hopes of passing up what I did this year, but at the same time I am going to start doing a lot more writing so may end up lowering that goal if by the half way mark I don’t think it’s attainable.

There is also still time to sign up for the challenges I am cohosting and you can see them in the nav. bar! I am excited to see how many have already signed up. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy reading!

I hope you start feeling better soon. I hate the health care system in this country. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon and that it won’t cost you too much. Also, exciting to see you starting Elemental Assassins series on audio. I love that series and it has a great narrator. I also really enjoyed Single Undead Moms Club and Wolf Trouble. I hope you have a great 2016

I know the health care system sucks. ๐Ÿ™ I thought I might enjoy the EA series on audio as I seem to do better with UF on audio. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am glad the narrators is really good. I love Molly Harper so I had to get my hands on SUMC. I really enjoyed Wolf Trouble as I just finished it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy New Year! I hope you feel better soon.
It’s my first time joining the Sunday Post and I’m having a lot of fun reading all these posts. I’ve been missing out!!
I recently joined Audible, and I really want to get going with listening to some audio books. I haven’t been able to do so though.. I think I’ll add that to my new year’s resolutions! ๐Ÿ™‚

Welcome to the Sunday Post I am glad that you are enjoying it. I am an audio nut, hope you enjoy them when you give them a try.

I know, I can’t believe it’s 2016 either. Looking forward to a new year though. I have a cold too, hope you’re feeling better. It’s been fun (not!).

    Great job on your goal!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder looks fun, now I want chocolate! LOL.

I really enjoyed Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder though it was not to much like the hallmark movie it’s based on…lol (Next one is cool Strawberry Shortcake Murder!! I have a feeling this series is going to make me hungry for desserts…lol.

    • Stormi

Thanks, I hope it’s nothing to bad either. Glad you liked Trent’s book, it sounds like a cool one. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Stormi

Thanks. I really liked the first one in the Kilts and Quilts series and so far this one is not to bad. I don’t normally read contemporary romances but it was set in Scotland so I couldn’t help myself. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope your cough gets cleared up quickly and inexpensively! You (as usual) got some tempting books! I’m got Murder in Thrall last week and am really excited about it but I want the Patience Griffith and the Gayle Trent. I got Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder awhile ago in a Daily Deal situation but for whatever reason I haven’t read it yet. I definitely need too! Have a great week and feel better!

Thanks, I have kind of went one click happy with my gift cards…lol. I went to get Murder in Thrall after seeing it on your list last week and come to find out I already owned it! So I decided to get narration to go with it as I have totally become an audio junkie….lol. ๐Ÿ™‚

You should try the Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder, I enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m sorry you’ve been sick — what a rotten way to start the New Year! I hope the doctor is able to help and you can get whatever meds you need.

Your new books look wonderful. I hadn’t seen the Patricia Griffin series before but I looked them up and the first 4 are at my library, so I put them on the “for later” list. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love Scotland and I love cozy mysteries — sounds like these might be perfect!

Take care, rest up, and feel better!

Yeah, I hope this clinic can help me as I am tired of being sick.

I like the Patience Griffin books are not cozies but contemporary romances set in modern day Scotland and I don’t normally read contemporary rom. but I love Scotland so I gave it a try and I enjoyed the first one and this one has been pretty good too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you get well soon. Whatever is going around this year simply won’t let go. I’ve taken one antibiotic which stopped working on day 4 and then 10 days of something new. I swear after being off it for 4 days it is trying to come back. I am still popping Claritin D and Mucinex. On a better note, I love Heather Blake.

I know, I have been sick for like two months or so and I am tired of it. Right now I can hardly talk and that won’t work for when I go back to work as it’s a call center! UGH.

I like Heather Blake too! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Stormi

Yeah, I hate doctors but it’s not getting better so breaking out my emergency card as it’s the only way I can afford it.

I got some gift cards and so I have gone a bit one click crazy of late. ๐Ÿ™‚ This year I want to read more of my own books so I need to get started….lol.

  7. Kathy

I hope the doctor can give you medicine to help you feel better. Congrats on making your 2015 goal. I made my 100 goal but decided to try for a 100 again for 2016. I hope we both make our goals =). Have a great week Stormi and I hope you feel better!

I have not used bookmooch but I have used Paperback Swap which I believes is basically the same thing. You post books and when you send a book to someone once they receive it you get a credit and then you can ask for a book using your credit. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Kathryn

Sounds like a thoughtful kind of Dr. Hope he was able to help. I think NetGalley was pretty quiet over the holiday season anyway but always good not to have added to the stack!

    • Stormi

It was great, they gave me a coupon for meds and so the stuff that would have cost 100+ only cost me 10.75! ๐Ÿ™‚ Glad I found that place.

  9. Kathy Martin

I hope you are feeling better soon. I’ve been having some itchy, watery eyes but the over the counter drugs have taken care of it. Now if I could just get rid of the dry mouth which is a side effect of the drugs. Still dry mouth is better than itchy eyes. Here is what I read last week. Happy reading!

    • Stormi

Oh my yes, I got some meds and been nothing but thirsty since started taking them. Though if they work I guess I will suffer. ๐Ÿ™‚
