The Week In Review #61

November 8, 2015 Memes 31

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So I totally forgot to do a Monthly report for October so I just thought I would do a shortened version here and let you know my reading stats from Oct. ๐Ÿ™‚ I read 21 books in October and that is really good for me. ๐Ÿ™‚ Out of those 10 where audiobooks and two were graphic novels. I am doing really good with my challenges and can’t wait to search out some for next year…I have a challenge addiction as I really want to do them all but know I can’t so I try to limit it to a semi small amount. ย ๐Ÿ™‚ I just need to get better about updating them cause that sort of fail by the wayside…lol.

Its getting cold here in Missouri and I am not ready for this type of weather! We did have a couple days of nice 70 degrees weather but now it’s back to nasty. I want my spring and summer back! I like the holidays that happen this time of year but not so much the weather. I don’t think I could ever live up north…lol.

I don’t know if anyone else is having problems ย but the time change is totally effecting my sleep or I something is wrong with me…lol. I swear I haven’t slept a good night sleep since the change and I am not sure why. I keep getting up at like 2am and when I finally go back to sleep it’s time to get up. ๐Ÿ™ I might need to invest in some sort of sleep aid but really don’t want too maybe I will look for a natural one.

I am giving Nanowrimo a shot and I am at little over 12,000 words now if I can just stick to it…lol. It blows my mind that you can put out a 50,000 book in a month. If I do it I am not sure exactly how good it will be…lol. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I was wordy today. ๐Ÿ™‚

You are killing me with all of those books! I recently won a gift card and I’m thinking of grabbing If Walls Could Talk.
There are some natural remedies you can take for sleeplessness. Trying to think of a name, maybe it’s Melatonin? You can also try Nyquil sleep gel tabs,. They work good and don’t leave you feeling weird in the morning.
I enjoyed your reading poll. I chose Uneasy.
Hope you get your sleep sorted out, Stormi:)

LOL, yeah, I really have to get a hold on my review books..such an addiction! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

So I had a detailed and well thought out comment but then my computer decided to get all wacky and I lost it. Wifi Adapter reset and now all is well. So anyway – fantastic haul! There’s a bunch of books that I want to read and I desperately need to get caught up on Marty Wingate. I loved the one book I read of hers but have yet to read anymore and I have a ton! Congrats on doing well on your challenge! I absolutely suck at them but I love the concept. Have an absolutely fantastic week and enjoy your new books!

Oh I hate it when computers do that! As much as I try to be good I always end up with netgalley books each week. I would say I am going to be good this week but I already got one and it’s only SUNDAY!! UGH…LOL.

With my challenges this year I made it appoint to keep better track so I got a little notebook and wrote them down and left what I figured was enough pages in between to write down my books…I was amazed at how well I did on my challenges once I actually kept track…lol.

LOL, I hope the cranky Terri gets happy!:) I am trying to blog ahead to stay afloat so I don’t have to worry so much about my post but it’s only working so so…lol. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Berls

I’m so with you on the winter weather – I HATE IT! So thankful to be back in Texas where it’s not as bad as it was in St. Louis. Good luck with NANOWRIMO – I’d say no one produces anything ready to publish during the event, but once you get the rough draft down your at least a good fraction of the way there. Then let the editing begin ๐Ÿ˜‰ Happy reading – I see you’re on the Art of Sinning… So good!

Thanks, I am sure mine will be a jumbled mess and then the editing will drive me crazy, that and I am horrible at grammar. ๐Ÿ™

  4. Michelle@Because Reading

I have serious sleep problems especially falling asleep and Ryan did too. One word, Melatonin, all natural and works GREAT! It also helps get you on a regular sleep schedule so you wont need it forever. It helps you fall asleep much better and you tend to stay asleep and it doesn’t affect you in the morning.

21 books is fantastic! You also have a great book haul, guess we can work on that book getting ban next year, lol

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! ox

Yeah, I was thinking of getting some Melatonin, so I will have to get some and try it. ๐Ÿ™‚ I need something that won’t make me groggy in the morning and this sounds like it will do the trick.

21 is good now if I wouldn’t add half of that back in new galleys I would be doing really well…LOL. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Greg

Good luck with NaNo! The time change a;ways messes me up too- I’ve had trouble falling asleep which I never do, so I stay up later than am tired in the morning. Aggravating!

21 books is awesome! We had some nice days too (low 70’s for several), now it’s cooler.

Thanks, I need a lot of luck for nano…lol. I am glad I am not the only one having trouble with the time change. For some reason it seems like this year is worse than normal..lol.

  6. Kathy

You are not alone because I am having a hard time with the time change. Also our dog is since she expects to eat at the wrong time. I really hate that we have to do this!! You got so many great books and I’m looking away because I can’t get anymore (I mean I really shouldn’t lol). I hope you have a great week!

Glad I am not the only one having time change problems…I never thought of it but that must be why my dogs are so whiny earlier than usual when it comes to feeding they are messed up too.

  7. Karen Blue

I got Flamecaster as well. It looks so good! I am also a bit addicted to challenges. I am a bit sad to see that some of the hosts didn’t make it through the year to finish their challenge. Sad really. I will have to be more careful in choosing which ones I do for next year. It might be cool to host a challenge. Maybe cohosting would be cool.

I knew I wasn’t the only challenge addict out there…lol. I am cohosting the new book challenge we are doing one in 2016 for it as well. It’s for reading the books you pick up that come out in 2016, we will be putting our post for sign ups probably this coming weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚ I would love to cohost another challenge but it almost seems like everything has been done…lol. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Bea @Bea's Book Nook

Lots of the US had warm days last week. We were in the 70s also but now we’re back in the 50s. You did well with books last month, congrats!

I’m hosting 2 challenges next, possibly more: a year long finishing the series challenge, and a month long challenge for books we’ve won or been gifted. Sign ups will go up on December 1st.

Have a good week and happy reading!

Finishing the series challenge sounds to hard for me…lol. I am bad about starting a ton of series and never finishing them. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am thinking of doing a month long reading challenge in Feb. for mysteries called Getting Cozy with a Mystery. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Stormi

Thanks and yes it is based on a true story. It’s about the capture of the GRK and how the new DNA testing helped bring about his capture. Then it did flashbacks to when he was killing, etc. Very interesting.

  9. Deborah

You’re doing such a great job with NaNoWriMo Stormi. Well done!!!

And 21 books for October – that’s fabulous. I’m jealous. Though I’m slack so not sure I’d keep up anyway!!!

    Have a wonderful November!

I’m so jealous of your 21 books. Great number and you always read such an interesting variety. Yes, I fear winter is coming whether we want it to or not. I have heard WV is to get more snow this year and less artic temps, which is given last year, I actually hope is an accurate prediction. I hate subzero temps, dripping pipes, tons of blankets, etc. Great haul this week we well.

Wow 21 books in a month, you read a lot! I usually only maage to read around 8 or max 10 books in a month. I already found some challenged I want to participate in next year, I also have the urge to sign-up for a lot of them, but Know I should limit myself to 4 max, else I can’t keep up.

I hope you can figure out something to help you sleep, as that sounds horrible waking up in the middle of the night and not sleeping well. I always read before going to bed which helps me relax. I also heard that valerian tea can help when falling asleep, my boyfriend drinks it sometimes. I am sure there are a few other natural sleep aids as well.

Good luck with NaNoWriMo! I hope you’ll reach the goal. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!
