The Week In Review #361

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So I would like to say this has been a great week but I can’t because our car gave out on us again. After reading about the symptoms of bad injectors I am pretty sure that might be the problem. We have bought the injectors and a fuel regulator but we have to wait for a payday which isn’t till Wednesday to be able to take it to get it fixed. I hope! We already spend $500 on it! So fingers crossed and all sorts of possitive thoughts welcome!!

Yesterday we had some pretty heavy rain and thunderbooms! I am so tired of storms! This year has been full of them and I wish I could send the rain to the places that really need it.

Started watching the third season of Virgin River and UGH…why do they have to ruin such a fun fluffy book series is beyond me. The show is so full of drama and angst and just not as good as the books!

Hope everyone has a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Mine – One of my anticipated reads for the 3 quarter so I hope I like it!! I mean look at that creepy cover!
  • Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village – Wow, what a long title…lol. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction but because I love so many British mysteries I couldn’t pass this up!
  • Chapter and Curse – I know I shouldn’t but I couldn’t help grabbing this new series!
  •  Faithless – Love my Hunter Shea so had to get his newest book!

Books read last week

Lots of audio listening this week!

  • Journey Beyond the Burrow – The only ebook of the week. This was a really cute mouse adventure story .
  • Biscuits and Slash Browns – This one was okay but it’s been a while since I listened to one that I didn’t connect with the charcters much. This one was 7 hours and 18 minutes and I listened to it at 2x speed.
  • A Virgin River Christmas – This was a nice fluffy Christmas romance and I enjoyed it. 9 hours and 24 minutes at 2x speed.
  • You Spin Me – An enjoyable addition to the Boston Classics series. I listened to this one at 8 hours and 34 minutes at 2x speed.
  • As the Christmas Cookie Crumbles – The last one for this series besides a book of novellas so I consider it a finished series! 8 hours  and listened at 2x speed.
  • Murder in the Storybook Cottage – #6 in the Book Retreat series, only one more to catch up on this series. It’s not a bad series but it’s different for  cozy. 8 hours and 10 minutes and listened at 2.2x speed.
  • Murder on Fifth Avenue –  #14 in the Gaslight series and still like 11 or so to go to catch up to this series! It’s one of my favorites and I enjoyed this one! 8 hours and 57 minutes listening at 2x to 2.3x speed.
  • Sixteen Scandals – This was a fun young adult historical romance.  6 hours and 32 minutes listening at 1.75 to 2x speed.

Currently reading

  • The Final Girl Support Group – Yes, still reading this one. I am just not that into it. I don’t like the MC or well most of the characters and it’s just real thrilling but only 36% into it so maybe something will change.
  • Lady Wicked – I haven’t read a lot on this one so only 17% into it but I am enjoying it so far.
  • Bloom – I am buddy reading this with a booktuber, Elizabeth from Lizzyfayelovesbooks. 🙂 I am 31% into it and it’s different. It rained seeds that turned into those black things you see on the cover and it’s taking over the world…lol.
  • Siege and Storm – I am trudging along in this one but the end is near I am 352 pages into this and still don’t see why this is a booktube darling as I find this trilogy to be super boring.
  • Evil Spy School – My current audiobook and this is just a fun, silly spy series for kids. I enjoy it as it makes me chuckle.

  1. Sorry about your car, ugh🙁 And I’m one of those people who wants your rain, lol. I’ll take the thunder too. I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve had thunderstorms here. Hope your week is good, Stormi!

  2. Sorry about the car troubles. That’s definitely never fun. Hope things get worked out for you. Yeah, we had bad storms last weekend. Our power went out at midnight Saturday and didn’t come back on til almost noon Sunday. Luckily it wasn’t as hot out, but my room still gets extremely warm during the summer no matter the temperature. Luckily my brother in law lent us his generator and we were able to plug in the fridge and a fan for each bedroom. I had that thing right by my head all night and luckily managed to get some sleep!

Nice new reads! I’m curious about Delilah’s new book. Though I’m always a little on the fence with middle grade. It still sounds like fun though! Hope you enjoy all the new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

Oh, bummer about that storm. Ours hasn’t been that bad, I would die without my AC! Glad your brother was abole to get you the generator to use.
I have never tried Delilah’s books so I am curious! 🙂

    • My friend finished Virgin River season 3 and was not happy, so now I am kind of curious but at the same time in no hurry to get through the season…lol.

  3. Sorry about the car. We are holding out hope ours will last until i get a job, then I need to get a new one.

Storms have been so crazy around here and humid, we are growing mushrooms all over the place. We are suppose to have a better week this week but who knows, storms pop up out of nowhere.

Gosh Golly All those books! I hope you enjoy them.

Have an amazing week, Stormi! Miss your face! xx

    • I hope your car makes it! The storm and just weather in general has been weird. I can’t believe it’s been in the 70s and 80s in July, normally weare close to 100 by now.

  4. Oh no sorry to hear about the car! That sucks. Cars are so expensive to maintain- we’ve had some trouble too and it’s EXPENSIVE.

Same here with the rain. We haven’t gotten a lot but we’ve had enough and every time I keep thinking of the places where they’re having droughts!

I keep seeing that Ashley book around…

    • Yes, car expenses suck. I really like the Jennifer Ashley series, if you want to try her books start with Death Below Stairs. 🙂

  5. Sorry about the car but fingers crossed this will fix things. We’ve had so much rain here too and it’s been tough on the tomatoes. I’m glad I didn’t attempt to grow any or I’d be going crazy. Love the Jennifer Ashley series but haven’t picked up the newest one yet. I did listen to As the Christmas Cookie Crumbles and enjoyed it. I need to go back and read a few of the early books so I can mark off the series as finished. Have a great week!

  6. vvb

Your Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village looks like a fun one especially with the illustrations. Enjoy

  7. So sorry about the car – that’s so stressful! I hope it works out for you. And the rain! Wouldn’t it be nice if you could send the rain where it’s needed?! Hope you’re having a much better week.
