The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

This week just went by really fast! I can’t believe we are in June already!

The weather was really nice this week, sun shining so great but it’s suppose to go back to rain. πŸ™

So I went antiquing with my aunt on Tuesday or Wednesday can’t remember but it was fun and I picked up some romance and mystery books. πŸ™‚ I only spent like about 5 bucks. πŸ™‚ So that was fun.

Saturday out church had a Ladies Southern Sweet Tea and dressed in our fancy garb…lol. I will post a few pics.

There I am in my fancy garb (the hat was my Aunts…lol) andΒ  the one in tan is our pastors wife and the lady beside her is the one who put the tea together. It was very fancy…lol. I had something called Tomato Pie, it was better than it sounds…lol.

I can’t think of anything to say…happy reading! πŸ™‚

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Falling for His Practical Wife –Β  I like historical romance and this looked good…lol.
  • Devil by the Tail – You know how I like my historical mysteries, so couldn’t pass it up…lol.

Bought while antiquing πŸ™‚

Books read last week

  • Lady Ruthless – I thought this was a decent read. I guess I would call this a forced marriage troupe. Sinclair blackmails Lady Calliope to marry him since she ruined his reputation by writing scandalous memoirs in his name about him murdering her brother and his late wife.
  • Lady Wallflower – I think this one was a bit more enjoyable. Lady Jo is tired of being a wallflower and wants to be a wicked, she makes a list but accidently hands it to Decker when she was at his office delivering a paper and he decides he wants to help her with her list. This one was a lot of fun and made me chuckle but mainly because of Macfie, Decker’s Scottish employee and the banter between the two,

I read 31 books last month, I took a break…lol. So only two this week. πŸ™‚

Currently reading

  • Rising Danger – First book I am reading for the Category Romance Readathon hosted by The Bookish Knitter on booktube. πŸ™‚ This one is from the Harlequin Love Inspired line. I am ready for some romantic suspense. πŸ™‚
  • Murder , Take Two – Trying to catch up on this series as it’s on my Serious About Series list!

What might be up next

Both of these are on my list for the Category Romance Readathon…just check out that classic cover on Operation S.N.A.R.E! It’s from 1987 and I have the print copy of this one…lol.

  1. I love the fancy tea party photos! I’m also loving all those vintage paperbacks. The Harlequin ones remind me of reading my mom’s Harlequin books when I was a teenager. I remember them being really tame, lol.

    • Thanks, it was kind of fun. First time I have been to a tea party…lol. Those Harlequins remind me of the same thing, I think that is one of the reason why I am grabbing up old romances in general as it reminds me of my mom.

  2. Yeah the weather is starting to get a little too warm for my tastes. It’s almost time for me to burrow indoors until fall comes around…or more likely winter since fall never seems to happen anymore. Lol. But yeah, we’re supposed to have rain all week too.

Nice new reads! Lots of new to me ones here. But yay for book deals! Hope you enjoy all the new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

    • I will admit that sometimes I am not a fan of the heat but I still prefer it to being cold all the time. At least I can hang out under the AC but in the winter time my house it to drafty and never stays warm enough.

  3. Oh the fancy tea looks fun – love the hat! I don’t know about tomato pie, seeing as I don’t particularly like tomatoes. However, I will take some of thaf pecan pie I see πŸ˜‚

Have a great week! Hoping the rain isn’t too bad!

    • It was fun, though not a fan of the hat…lol. The tomato pie tasted mostly like a pasta dish without noodles…it was yummy…lol. That pecan pie was pretty yummy too…lol.

  4. Antiqueing – what fun! I used to love doing that. My husband and I collected demitasse cups, one per anniversary, until I stopped being able to drink coffee… but I still enjoy looking at our collection.

Looks like you found some fun mysteries and old-school romances on your trip, too! Oh, and I love those hats!

  5. The tea sounds so fun and you look fantastic in your hat! I haven’t been antiquing in ages and I miss it! It’s always so fun to see what you can find. We are just having rain from now until the end of time – or that’s how it feels! I hope you have a great week!

    • Thanks! It was my first fancy tea and it was kind of fun. I thought the rain was about to be gone but it looks like it’s back in the forecast and I just want it gone for at least a week…lol.
