The Week In Review #344

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So the warm weather ran away for a bit and gave us cold and rain and we even got a little dusting of snow!! I want my warm weather back…lol. Instead I get a whole nother week of rain! The only thing about this time of the year I hate. I know all this rain will make pretty flowers, but it’s hard to get my garden beds ready when it’s raining!

So I am on a hunt for a new laptop and evidently everyone else is doing so with their stimulus checks as there is none to be had of the one I want! I can’t afford much but dang it I want this certain one and I went to three different walmarts and nothing, so the search continues!

You might notice some differences in my blog. That is because I had to upgrade my theme to tweak me 2 because my other one was corrupt and I had been having a lot ofΒ  troubles with it. I am still working on this one. I can’t seem to get my skull dividers to show up and I am not sure why. It looks okay but I want my dividers back…lol. Michelle help! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Other than that not a lot happening here which I am fine with as the beginning of my month was interesting enough…lol.

Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

  • Cajun Kiss of Death – So I really don’t need to know anything about this it’s the next in one of my favorite series, but I do know that it comes out in August but is about Valentines day!? Kind of weird but oh well I don’t care…lol. πŸ™‚ Look at Gopher he is so cute!!!!

Books read last week

  • Jane Austen Investigates: The Abbey Mystery – This was really good and kind of reminded me of a middle grade cozy mystery.
  • Your Turn to Suffer – I think I am about to give up on this author. I didn’t like the one he wrote last year and I wasn’t a fan of this one. I have only gave his other two I have read 3 stars. He is writes weird horror and maybe it’s just not for me.
  • Murder in Chinatown – This is a cozy series that I have been working on for a while, I stopped it for a while but started thinking about it lately so I am on it again. The only thing I am not a fan of is that it looks as if they changed audio companies as they were from tantor audio and now it’s recorded books and so that means they probably had to change narrators and I prefered the other narrator but this one is okay. Book 9 in the Gaslight mysteries. It’s about Sarah Brandt a midwife who gets involved in solving murders and it’s pretty complex for a cozy historical mystery series.

Currently reading

  • Later – Kind of slow but interesting at the same time, so not sure. I am only 90 pages into it but at least it’s a short one for a King book! πŸ™‚
  • The Blessed Bones – I am enjoying this one and want to find out what is going on! I am about 50% into it.
  • Murder on Bank Street – Book 10 in the Gaslight series and the premise of this one has me curious because it says something happens that could devastate the main character Mrs. Brandt! So I had to continue on with the series cause I want to know…lol. Just starting this one.

What might be up next

  1. I love the new theme but don’t envy you all the tweaking and stuff. I have no patience with that stuff! I don’t like the cold either! We had some nasty storms this week but it seems to have settled down even though it is still chillier then I’d like. Enjoy your reading! I have to catch up on the Ellen Byron series. I think I’m rolling it into my series project next. Have a great week!

Yeah, trying to tweak things is complicated for a non techie type…lol. We had some storms but they didn’t get nasty for us, thank goodness. This time of year gets my anxiety up every time I see a thunder cloud on my phone.
Yes, you need to catch up on Byron’s series! πŸ™‚

  2. I like the tweak! It looks good. I’m thinking of doing something similar. And yes to the warm weather. It’s been beautiful here (finally) but then it gets cold again…

I like the look of The Abbey Mystery. That one looks nice and mysterious πŸ™‚

  3. Good luck with your new laptop search! I still have my macbook from 8 years ago. lol I am trying to run this thing to the ground before I shell out another $1-2k.

Your new site tweak looks good πŸ™‚ Sometimes we just need to switch things up for a change.

Have a safe and productive week! I hope you’re able to make a dent in your TBR pile!

Yeah, if my computers weren’t so obsolete I wouldn’t be upgrading but my laptop is a windows 7 lol.

  4. I think the blog looks good and I’m glad that you at least aren’t HATING Later. Maybe the Valentine book was pushed back because of Covid. That would explain it. Oh well, Gopher looks adorable so I say go with it!

    • Stormi

Yeah, not hating it but not loving it as much as you…lol. I feel like a whole lot of nothing is happening…lol.

  5. Your blog is looking great!

Your books look good. I’ve been wanting to read the Victoria Thompson series, but haven’t had a chance yet.

I hope you have a great week!

I am tired of the rain too and we have more coming pretty much all this week. πŸ™ I want to be outside getting my garden beds ready but kind of hard when it rains all the time. πŸ™ Got my computer! So far I am liking it, not use to such a small laptop as mine old ones were so old they were those really thick ones…lol.
