The Week In Review #292

March 22, 2020 Misc. 12

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

I hope everyone is surviving the social distancing. I am not a fan of it but I am kind of antisocial anyway so staying at home doesn’t bother me as much as it does some I am sure. I feel bad for all those who have lost their jobs for now so I hope they find a cure for this stupid virus so we can get back to our lives.

The weather here hasn’t been two bad though we had lots of rain (so tired of rain) and some storms but the nasty missed us, then it got really cold for a day and now back to temps going back up and in the 50’s and 60’s this week. So ready for warmer weather all the time! ๐Ÿ™‚

This week I watched Rampage as I hadn’t seen it yet and really liked it. The Gorilla was so cool! Watched some Murdock Mysteries and that is about it.

Have a great week (if you can) and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

  • The Mouse Watch – I guess I am hit or miss when it comes to Disney letting me review their books as I got declined for one but accepted for this one. I am so glad it was this one as I wanted this one more it looks so cute!!!! A Mouse adventure book! ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Misfits – Not a clue what this is about but it was Shea and that is all I needed to click on it and hope I got accepted…lol. ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Burn the Dark – MacMillan has done it to me again!!! This book came out in January but they just now approved it for me adding an extra book to my haul this week. Hope it’s a good one! I worry when they give it to me after the fact cause maybe they are not getting enough reviews and hoping I will like it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ™‚

Also grabbed up a bunch of freebies!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Books read last week

ย

  • The Last Dragon – Finally I finished and it was really good and left me hanging. Good thing I have the next book! ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Vanished! – This was a fun sequel to Framed! It’s about a two kids who help the FBI.
  • Pane and Suffering – I wanted to like this one more but I couldn’t stand this one policeman through the whole thing, though I know the detective was wanting to get rid of him, it still bothered me. So this one was just okay.

Currently reading

ย
  • Cross Her Heart – Good so far! Close to 100 pages in.
  • Kindness Goes Unpunished – Not far into it as I forgot I needed to read the above one for a tour first!
  • The Deceivers – Liking it so far but it’s kind of on hold till the first two above are finished.
  • Deep Fried Revenge – I am close to being done so will finish it today. I am enjoying it. And I love Dom (dog on front).

What might be up next

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah the only time I ever really get any socialization is when I attend book signings which are all canceled obviously! I was glad I was still able to attend the one I had at the beginning of the month before things really hit my state, so that was lucky because that signing was packed! Luckily I didn’t have any others planned for this month that were canceled and I was still waiting on April ones, but since they were never announced I don’t have to know if I missed something that may never really be rescheduled!

Nice new reads! Those are all new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

We all hope they figure this thing out fast so life can go back to some semblance of normal. At least things are looking up in China, it’s a good sign that in a couple months we can go back to normal too. And in about a year, hopefully we’ll have a vaccine. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

    Stay safe!

  3. Tammy @ Books, Bones & Buffy

I was so tempted to request Misfits but I really don’t need any review books at the moment so I’m being good. Stay safe and I know what you mean about social isolating, I don’t feel much change except I can’t go to work. But I’m actually thrilled to stay home and read and work on my blog. Except I’m sure it will get old at some point๐Ÿ˜ Be safe Stormi!

The social distancing is tough, for sure, but I’m also an introvert so it’s not bothering me too much yet haha! Crazy times tho.

Your reads all look good, especially that Melinda Leigh one. Take care this week and stay healthy!!

  5. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I didn’t get that Lynn Cahoon because I just haven’t been able to get into that series which is weird because I love the other two. Maybe I should try it again. I really want to read the Melinda Leigh. It looks fantastic. We are social isolating and my husband is working from home. So far I haven’t gone too stir crazy but we will see how that goes! Have a great week!

I never realized how often I have to leave the house. Like we were good all weekend but now I have to go to the store and get medicine for my son. Like I am trying to stay distant but I keep having to leave the house.

I hope they find something soon. I’ve played this game and the virus never wins.

    Take care and Stay Safe!

Framed was part of our fifth grade battle of the books a few years ago. I’ll have to let the kids know there’s a sequel ๐Ÿ™‚ New books have slowed down here, and I can’t check the post office for a couple weeks. Plenty of backlog to keep reading though, whenever I can focus. Take care of you and yours!

I’m all about being social. But I’ve found some theater events in my community that are live streaming so I’m happy..I feel connected to people at a different level now. Here’s a new connection. This is my first visit to your blog @theglobaldig.blogspot.com
