The Week In Review #291

Posted March 15, 2020 by Stormi in Memes / 16 Comments

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Hope this finds all my readers in good health and not in to much of a panic. Also please don’t hoard the toilet paper cause others need some too. 😉

This week has been a pretty decent one weather wise except for Saturday, it’s freezing! I was just getting use to a little bit nicer weather then boom. I really am ready for a steady rise of warmer weather as I am tired of being cold all the time. My room is a bit on the cold side during winter and it’s miserable! Not ready for the storms that go along with spring as we could have some nasty ones this week.

So caught up on Picard and I am enjoying it. Other than that I haven’t watched much of anything that wasn’t just background noise.

Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Umm, went a bit overboard this week! 🙂

  • Titan’s Day – I went for it but wasn’t sure I would get this one so I was surprised to get approved. Now I must get the first one read, good thing it’s a buddy read next month! 🙂
  • Bone Chase – So this could be a cover grab but it also sounds pretty cool! It’s a supernatural thriller about rival factions vying for the truth in a giant conspiracy, like actual GIANTS! 😉
  • The Hollow Places – It’s about a woman discovering a strange portal in her uncle’s house. I read and thought The Twisted Ones was just okay and this sounds kind of in the same vain as that one so I am hoping I like it more but wanted to try the author again.
  • Oddly Normal – I am only putting one on here but I got all three that were offered. I have already read one and two but unfortunately I can’t read the third one as it wouldn’t load up correctly on my kindle. 🙁 It is a fun graphic novel series.

From Tantor Audio

  • Vanished – I really enjoyed listening to Framed so I was glad to get ahold of the second one. It’s a fun MG series about two kids working with the FBI.

Books read last week

Looks like I read a lot but I was in the middle of a lot of these and three was audios and then MG graphic novels…lol.

  • Let the Dead Keep Their Secrets – This is book three in the Gilded Age mystery series and I really enjoyed it though the subject matter was kind of sad.
  • Telephone Line – This is book nine I think in the Country Club mystery and I really enjoyed it but then I have enjoyed this whole series. I really love the seventies vibe!
  • Murder in the Reading Room – Book five in the Book retreat mystery series and this one was a bit different but still enjoyable.
  • Oddly Normal – These are Graphic Novels for middle grade and cute. I read both book one and two in one day. I would have started the third one but the download wasn’t right and it cut the pages in half and they were mixed up. I am bummed I wanted to see how the rest of it went!
  • Ten Days Gone – The only book I actually read with my peepers! 🙂 I thought this one was fairly good though I felt myself drifting towards the end and just wanted it to wrap up.

Currently reading

  • The Dark Corners of the Night – For some reason I am just not in the mood for this one and I keep putting it down which sucks as it’s one of my favorite series. Sometimes you are just not in the mood even for favorites.
  • Kindness Goes Unpunished – Just started this one so no real opinion. On page 12.
  • The Last Dragon –  I really wanted to finish this one but I just kept reading other things…lol. I like it just fine and will finish it up as I am on page 212 of 372.
  • Vanished! – Book two in the Framed series (or T.O.A.S.T series depending who you ask) and it’s just as fun as the first one and I will probably finish listening to it today as I have only 4 hours left and it goes quickly.

  1. The toilet paper thing is so crazy isn’t it? I actually needed some – we only had 3 rolls – so I had to brave a few stores until I managed 8 rolls. Insanity! Not like COVID has anything to do with using the restroom 🤣

Hope the storms arent too bad for y’all this week! I feel like there’s a nothing going on that the weather just needs to back off. It’s been rainy here, but not stormy, which works since we’re basically staying home anyway. Have a great week!

It’s so crazy right! We will be braving the stores on Wednesday when we have a few extra bucks. I am hoping by then the run on TP will be over! 🙂 I am hoping they are wrong about the storms and they are just normal little thunderstorms I can handle them but the severe ones get my anxiety going! I had to much of that last year!

  2. I am not understanding the whole toilet paper thing. Buy what you need and move on. I bet people have garages full of the stuff right now. I agree with you about the weather. I was just getting used to nicer days and boom…it gets cold again. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!

I think some people think they can sell it for a higher price and make money but they have put a stop to a lot of that and you can get in bad trouble so people are just dumb. I am so tired of rain and cold! 🙁

  3. Isn’t the toilet paper thing the dumbest ever? Good grief I would almost expect food to be hoarded, but TP? Sigh. I’m same way with the cold. I’m ready for warm!

The Hollow Placs sounds awesome! I need that. 🙂

  4. This hoarding thing is really crazy. I don’t get it.

I have a few of the books on your list on my TBR too. Hope you have a great week and enjoy your reading!

  5. Haha – I grabbed Bone Chase as well. It just couldn’t be helped! Hopefully your storms won’t be too bad. I ended up grabbing some extra TP this week only because people had already started hoarding it and I could see it was going to get bad. Even then, I only added one 12 pack so I think that was pretty normal. People are going nuts! Hope we both have great reading weeks.
