November 24, 2019 Memes 11

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Not much going on here but some messed up weather! It actually got up to 70 one day then it rained and was back in the 40’s. Not fair mother nature not fair! 🙂

I can’t believe that next week is Thanksgiving! Where has this year gone! I am not ready for the holidays can I hibernate through them!? So for those celebrating don’t eat to much! 🙂 We won’t be eating Keto on that day, it’s already planned and I am not going to fret about it. We had friends invite my dad and me to dinner but I will be bringing a keto friendly pumpkin cheesecake for dessert so we are not as tempted by sweets. 🙂 I am not going to worry about it, we will keto on the next day. 🙂

I didn’t really watch much of anything. I caught up on the new Nancy Drew and it’s okay, watched a couple episodes of Castle Rock and then just a bunch of background noise tv. I did download pandora on my tv and actually listened to some music for once…lol. I am sure I will surprise everyone by my music taste lol. I listened to Bing Crosby and music like it, so lots of great older music styles that is my jam, not into the newer stuff…lol.

For all those who have kindle unlimited. One of my favorite cozy mystery series is on there now! The whole series so get it while you can! If you like southern fun with a bit of ghostly paranormal then you will love this series! 🙂 It’s the Kenny Lowry series! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RMBRZB6?ref_=dbs_r_series&storeType=ebooks

Enough of me rambling! Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

  • A Murderous Relation – OMG!! I held my breath waiting to see if I would get approved for this one! Probably my most anticipated read of 2020! I love this series! Future buddy read book right here! I didn’t even care what it was about so I don’t really know …lol. And just look at that cover! *sighs* 🙂
  • The Only Good Indians – So I wished for this thinking I probably wouldn’t get it but here it is! Strange cover, but a pretty deer…lol. Revenge horror story involving the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, I am so ready….lol.

Books read last week

  • Chardonnayed to Rest – The second book in the Wine Country series. Still not loving the series but it’s not bad, just not carrying for the MC’s sleuthing antics I guess. I could be being picky cause I loved the other series by this author so much…lol.
  • Pinot Red or Dead? – Third book in the Wine Country series and it is my favorite one so far. Trying really hard to catch up on this series this month for the series challenge but it’s getting down to the wire!!
  • Magic Binds -I think this might be one of my favorites in the series and can’t wait to read the next one!
  • Gone with the Wool – I have always enjoyed this series so this was another good one. Who knew Yarn Retreats could be so deadly. 😉

Currently reading

  • Sauvigone for Good – If I get this one done I will have caught up on the series! I can do it!!
  • The Stand – Barb and I are reading this in three parts since it’s 1154 pages! We will review it in three parts too so look for the first buddy read part coming up Thursday! So far it’s a tad dry and slow but I know it gets better as I can remember some things from when I read it as a teen…lol. (we just happen to both have the uncut edition and I think King added a lot of a rambly filler stuff he didn’t need too!)
  • Dead Man Walking – On a mission to catch up on series as I just have to many especially audios that I read like book one and that is it! You will be seeing a lot of series catching up in the new year!

What might be up next

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah the up and down temps getting kind of aggravating. I don’t like them like that because it’s just bound to make me sick and I don’t want that with the holidays coming up. Plus I don’t relish using my vacation days for sick time. That’s not fun at all! Lol.

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I am seeing a lot of Raybourn’s book today! Congrats on being approved for it! Hope you enjoy the new reads!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

I think when eating healthy and it’s good to have some balance. I think for one day you both should be good since you are so dedicated and it will be nice to get out of the house…hermit lady.

I hope you have an awesome week! Happy Reading! xx

Yay for the 70s, boo for the 40s lol! Mother nature has been playing similar tricks on us and it’s really frustrating.

Sounds like you have an excellent plan in place for Thanksgiving. I find that, for me, if I tell myself I can’t have things I either end up feeling unhappy and hungry or giving in and eating ALL THE THINGS lol. So instead, I go for small portions of whatever I want on special days like Thanksgiving, making sure to load up on the foods that are good for me and eating them first so I get full off them before going to the “bad” stuff. It’s worked the last couple years 🙂

    Have a wonderful thanksgiving!

We’re having some weird weather here as well sometimes, but these past few weeks have been pretty stable, with colder weather, but not too cold and then some slightly warmer days thrown in.

That’s awesome you got approved for that anticipated 2020 read. That Gone With the Wool book sounds like a fun one. Have a great week!
