The Week In Review #274

November 17, 2019 Memes 16

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Fairly slow week and the weather has been kind of nice even if the nights are really cold. We might even hit 60 on Monday! So I really don’t have anything to say, which is probably good since last week I had a long post…lol.

I watched Holiday in the Wild on Netflix and I will be honest it was mostly because of Rob Lowe and Elephants, but it was pretty good. πŸ™‚ I also watched The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix from last year because Kurt Russell as Santa is worth a rewatch! πŸ™‚ Other than that just a lot of background noise listen (The Dead Files).

Have a great week and happy reading!!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

I told myself I wouldn’t grab any books unless they were part of series I am already reading so I don’t feel so bad about grabbing these two. πŸ™‚

  • There’s a Murder Afoot – I have really enjoyed the Sherlock Bookshop Mysteries and I actually got all caught up besides this new one, so I am excited to get to it. It comes out in January.
  • The Janes – I really enjoyed this authors first book in the Alex Vega series, Two Girls Down, so can’t wait to give this one a try!! Also comes out in January.

Books read last week

  • The Face of Fear – OMG you can so tell this is one of Koontz’s first books! It was so horrible and I don’t feel bad saying that because he said it himself in the new afterward at the back of the book…lol.
  • Snow Creek – Okay so I just wasn’t a big fan of this one and the ending went in some weird places and I got confused and well not my favorite by the author that is for sure.
  • Apple Cider Slaying – I really enjoyed this and thought it was a good start to a series. At least one book this week was good! πŸ™‚ So I finished my one book for HoHoHo readathon! πŸ™‚

Currently reading

  • Chardonnayed to Rest – I almost got this one done but not quite. Hopefully I will finish today!
  • Magic Binds – Just started so only on chapter three but so far so good. πŸ™‚
  • Gone with the Wool – I may have started this one just cause I needed an audiobook on my phone for when I was outside stacking wood. πŸ™‚ I am trying to catch up on my cozy series so have three more to go on this one!

What might be up next

  • Anno Dracula – John from Written in Blood on booktube has been talking about this series and really likes it so I am curious!
  • The Woman in Black – I was trying to do a horror challenge but I am going to fail but this one one of the books for it…lol. So is Anno Dracula…lol.
  • Pinot Red or Dead? – Still trying to read a series in a month and if I finish it will be tight as I still have one more after this one!

How was your week? What did you get?

Oh glad to hear you liked Anno Dracula! I am curious but I may not get to it, but if not now I will later! πŸ™‚

Yes, I really enjoyed Two Girls Down as well so couldn’t help grabbing The Janes! πŸ™‚

  1. Aj @ Read All The Things!

I feel like I’m missing out by not watching Christmas movies. I know there are a lot of good ones out there, but most movies don’t hold my attention for some reason. I hope you have a great week!

Kurt russell as Santa? That could be fun lol. Glad you had a mostly quiet week- I like those. And 60! I’d love to get a 60 day- we’re stuck in the 30’s and 40’s seems like and I’m not a fan haha!

If you like Kurt Russell you so need to try The Christmas Chronicles, he is a rockin Santa!! πŸ™‚ And you will love his Mrs. Claus at the very end! πŸ˜‰ Even though we are getting some nice weather now that nasty stuff is coming back and I am so over winter and it’s not even officially here yet! πŸ™

Well, I get bored and Christmas movies took over my normal watch channels and sometimes it’s just on for background noise…lol. Holiday in the Wild I didn’t really see as a Christmas movie though it was celebrated in the movie.

  3. Barb @ Booker T's Farm

You do need to get to Anno Dracula so you can let me know if I need to read it πŸ™‚ The month is never long enough right? I want to watch Rob Lowe and elephants but won’t be doing Christmas until Thanksgiving is over πŸ™‚

If I don’t get to Anno Dracula, I will next year…lol. Holiday in the Wild, wasn’t really that Christmasy and I couldn’t hold off any longer…lol.

  4. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

The Dead Files is great background noise! I haven’t watched it in awhile but I need to add it back to my watch schedule. I really need to catch up on the Eaton series. I love the one set in Arizona but I’ve only read the first book in that one. Have a great week!
