The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

I just can’t believe that August is over and my lawn is still green!!! We have had so much rain it’s just crazy. By now I normally don’t have to mow my lawn, what is up Mother Nature!

So in September I am participating in a readathon called Monsterathon (and I convinced Barb to do it with me!) it’s hosted by Chapter Cate on booktube. For each page read it’s one villiger terrorized and both Barb an I are on team Beast! πŸ™‚ If you want to see my TBR you can check out my booktube video below! πŸ™‚ I am still not good at being in front of a camera so beware but would love some more subscribers! πŸ˜‰

As far as what I am watching I did watch the first episode of When Hope Calls, it’s a spin off of When Calls the Heart that is just on hallmark now and it was pretty good. Some of the characters from WCTH will be showing up from time to time on WHC so that is cool! Oh and I tried the first Dark Crystal episode on Netflix and it wasn’t to bad. I loved that movie as a kid but I am not as into that kind of stuff now so not sure how I will fair with it but I will at least try a few more episodes. πŸ™‚

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Ghoster – It’s about a girl who is supposed to be moving in with her boyfriend but when she shows up he is not there and she can’t find him anywhere. Only thing she finds is his phone. People tell her she has been ghosted but she doesn’t believe that is what happened so tries to find out where her boyfriend has gone. Sounds pretty interesting!

Books read last week

  • Magic Rises – We are continuing on with the Kate Daniel series and this wasn’t one of my favorites but I still enjoyed it!
  • The Bitterroots – I didn’t realize this was book 4 in a series when I said I would listen to it but I made it through it okay and enjoyed it. So I will be checking out moreΒ  from this author!

Currently reading

  • Murder at the Vicarage – Haven’t had a lot of time to read this one but I am liking it so far only about 32 pages in.
  • Fatal Cajun Festival – I just love this series and I am around 40% into it. I need to quickly get it done so I can concentrate on my monsterathon books!
  • Unnatural Creatures – For Monsterathon we have to read a short story for our team. I am team beast so The Griffin and the Minor Canon and if I have time I might do the other two because you get 100 points each for reading the other two teams short story. So not reading the whole book at least right now. πŸ™‚
  • Ghost Story – Been concentrating on other audios mainly because this doesn’t have the normal narrator so it’s harder for me to get through I am getting closer as I have about 6 hours left it was a long one!

What might be up next

These are all for the Monsterathon I am doing this month! One is also a buddy read with Barb bet you can’t guess which one. πŸ˜‰

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. Wow! I’m not sure I’ve been by since you revamped your blog look (which is terrible of me, and I’m sorry. I’ve been a very bad blog friend lately…) Anyway, I like the gothic vibe you’ve got going on. But I’m glad you didn’t go full-on dark. I find black backgrounds with white text much harder to read than the other way around.

Have fun with the Monsterthon! I am not doing any more challenges until the HoHoHo Readathon, assuming Kimberly hosts it again this year. But Monsterthon sounds like fun.

Don’t feel bad I think I visited your blog last week for the first time in a while!! I am going to check out your post right now so I don’t forget. πŸ™‚

  2. I’ve had The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein on my TBR for the LONGEST time! I think I’m finally going to read it this month.
    Have a great week!

  3. Monsterathon sounds like a lot of fun! And it’s the same way here- usually by this time of year the grass is not growing much haha unless we water it, but we’ve had a lot of rain too. So it’s not looking too bad! πŸ™‚

    Have a great Labor Day!

  4. It was nice to see you, Stormi! And some great book choices. I hope you enjoy Dust Devils as much as I did. And I have Hood Academy to read also. I’m working on my Thrills and Chills feature for October. Already have seven reviews written. I had to get started as it is a review each day. 31 reviews! I’ll need a break after that. LOL

I have been meaning to try The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein for a while so now I have a good reason too with the Monsterathon!
