The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Hello my bookish friends! Not too much to report this week. I am feeling a lot better this week though my nose is still clogged. Yay allergies! 🙁

So I haven’t talked about it in a while so I figured I would mention my ongoing weight loss its ups and downs. I have been doing keto since February. I started it mostly because dad needed to get his sugar down which means eating less carbs and sugar but I also needed to lose weight. It’s been a frustrating ride and we have cheated now and then because I think you need to or you will go crazy…lol. Anyway I have lost 60 pounds so far though it goes up and down, up and down and I try not to get frustrated. I am for the first time under 300 pounds something I don’t think I have seen since I was in my early twenties! I can kind of tell I look smaller but my upper belly is my frustration and makes me feel like I haven’t lost anything. Then I took a pic of my face and wow I could really tell a difference. My dad’s doctor told him that I need to not get discouraged as females go up and down then whoosh and really it does kind of work that way…lol.

Look how puddy my face was in February compared to now! I don’t like my actual before and after pics of the whole me lol. I will get brave and put them on here maybe after I have lost more. 🙂

What I watched this week was the third season of The Worst Witch, it’s such a cute show and really easy to breeze through!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • SnowballA group of motorists become stranded on a lonely stretch of highway during a Christmas Eve blizzard and fight for survival against an unnatural force in the storm. I find isolated type stories interesting and so I hope I like it!
  • The Twisted OnesWhen a young woman clears out her deceased grandmother’s home in rural North Carolina, she finds long-hidden secrets about a strange colony of beings in the woods in this chilling novel that reads like The Blair Witch Project meets The Andy Griffith Show. That description alone has me wanting to read it!

Books read last week

  • they kill – Only my second Waggoner book and I already think this man is messed up in the head! 😉
  • Something Read, Something Dead – Book 5 in the Lighthouse Library mysteries and I really enjoyed it. It’s one of my favorite series and I am caught up in time for the next one to come out in October!
  • The Cruelest Month – Book three in the CI Gamache series and I enjoyed it!
  • The Bone Garden – This was different but not a real memorable story.
  • Dare You to Lie – The author of this book has to be a huge Veronica Mars fan! This almost reads like a VM episode and I liked it!

Currently reading

  • The Book of Life – Getting close to the finish line on this one! I can’t wait to see how it ends and I better like it! 🙂
  • My Lovely Wife – Just starting this one so about 11% in and it’s a strange one! A man helps his wife kill people because it’s something she wants to do! So curious if they get caught or what is going to happen in the end.
  • What Rose Forgot – I will be starting this one today so no thoughts yet.

What might be up next

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Wow! Congrats on the weight loss! I know how hard the Keto diet can be. I have relatives who were doing it, and it seems to favor guys’ metabolism more than womens’! The guy was losing weight faster than the girl and they were both eating the same stuff, so you should be proud of how far you’ve come! Like you said, cheat days are extremely necessary for sanity purposes! 😉

Nice new reads too! Those are new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them! Happy Reading!

    Here’s my StS

You can really notice the difference in your pictures and 60lbs is amazing! For me, it doesn’t matter if the numbers go up and down a bit as long as the overall trend is down and I’m 100% with you on needing to cheat every now and again! It definitely keeps you sane. Good luck with continued progress.

I know some people doing keto also and they seem to really like it! Congrats on your success- that’s awesome!

Dare You To Lie looks good!

It can be hard at first but if you stick with it after a while it’s not really that hard, but I do miss certain food. 🙂
