The Week In Review #251

June 9, 2019 Misc. 17

The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

As you can see I changed my design as I just wanted to do something different, I had thought about changing the name of my blog but that was more hassle than I wanted and everyone knows it like it is so I just changed the design instead. I have been working on it for a while as I kind of quit working on it for a bit and then I finished this week and put it up. Hope you like it! πŸ™‚

We had a lot of rain but not any storms so yay! And we are suppose to have several days without rain which will be really good for the surrounding area. It’s weird though because all this week it’s going to be only in the 70’s and the nights in the 50’s which is very strange for June, but not arguing. πŸ™‚

What I am watching

So I watched a horror movie called Boar after Barb said it was pretty decent and it was though kind of cheesy. Reminded me of a syfy movie in the Australian outback. πŸ™‚ I am also catching up on Lucifer since it’s on Netflix and I have just started season 4 and to be honest I am not sure if I like where they are taking the show but only time will tell I am only a few episodes into season 4 but I know they are going darker with it.

Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Slash – Of course I had to grab the latest Shea book! I hope it’s a good slasher type since it’s name is Slash…lol.
  • One by One – Got to love a book featuring a fixer upper house and disappearing family members.

Books read last week

  • Death In Kew Gardens – Still one of my favorite series! Loved it!
  • Something Borrowed, Something Mewed – Another favorite series that is always a lot of fun.
  • Small Favor – B00k #10 in the Dresden Files and still just as good as ever! Probably my favorite Urban Fantasy series.

I just read lots of good ones this week! πŸ™‚

Currently reading

  • A Discovery of Witches – One of my buddy reads and it’s a hefty one so still working on it. 421 of 579
  • The Girl in Red – Right now a tad on the slow side but only about 25% so I hope it speeds up and has a bit more action in it.
  • The Right Sort of Man – Historical mystery and so far not to bad but again only about 20% into it.
  • The Halloweener – It’s cute and I am close to the end so I will probably get it done soon.
  • The Never Game – Just started this one so no opinion yet.

Yep, reading all the reads…lol.

What might be up next

How was your week? What did you get?

Wow! Temps in the 70s in June is unheard of. I have checked the weather forecast here so I wonder what is in store in my area. Nice new reads and it looks like you are currently working on a few that I have coming up. Have a great week, Stormi!

I know, I don’t think I remember a June with temps in the 70’s, but I am going to enjoy it! πŸ™‚

I love the new design. I’m watching Lucifer, but I’m still in season 3. I just finished watching A Discovery of Witches, which I really enjoyed. I read the books several years ago when they first came out. The books are better, but no surprise there. I hope you enjoy.

    • Stormi

Thanks! Season 3 was long as it has 26 episodes! I will be curious to see what you think of s4 when you get there. I loved A Discovery of Witches but it’s so short and a bit darker than the book. The book has more Matthew and Diana which I love but I think I am obsessed with Matthew Goode’s portrayal of Matthew that I have watched the show like 5 times…lol.

Love the Design! You did an awesome Job with it!
My husband loved Lucifer and I heard they are going to do one more season and then it is done.

Those are some awesome Horror books you grabbed, you need to tell me if One by One is a good one. That looks interesting!

Have a great week Stormi! Happy Reading! xx

Thanks for your help with the design by giving me advice! I seen that season 5 is the finale and with the way they went with the new season I might be okay with that. They have made it a bit darker and it was such light hearted fun now it’s all get rid of the Devil with a priest on there now. Though Tom Ellis makes the perfect Devil as he can look so hot and so mean at the same time….lol. πŸ˜‰

We’ve been in the 90s but it’s cooled to mid 80s with some much needed rain for a few days. I want to see Boar. I wonder if it is similar to Razorback, Is that the movie were thinking of? And I’m reading Slash right now. Not sure about it yet.

    • Stormi

I seen the rain was headed your way so glad it wasn’t anything bad. I am sure Boar is a lot like Razorback (didn’t get to see that as I couldn’t find it free anywhere) but it’s about a large Boar going around killing people in the outback that are camping. πŸ™‚ Lots of stupid people doing stupid things that deserved to die…lol.

Hey I love the new look! Awesome!! The book with a knife in it, and the rose, are nice touches. πŸ™‚

It’s been rainy and cooler (70’s/ 60’s) here too- also odd for June, but yeah I’ll take it since I’m sure the heat is coming.

Boar sounds like a trip. πŸ™‚

One by One looks SO good!

I picked up a classic, The Phantom of the Opera. I’m about a third of the way in. The prologue was weird, and I almost put the book down, but I’m glad I kept reading.

  7. Barb (boxermommyreads)

I love the new design and thing it looks great. I’m excited to see how I feel about The Girl in Red. I hope I’m not disappointed after loving Lost Boy and The Mermaid so much.
