BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

I think spring is upon us even though some nights are still pretty chilly but it’s been nice not having to get wood in every night or make a fire. πŸ™‚

So we haven’t found a home for the dog so I guess it’s a permanent fixture till we either just give up or find someone. Since I have a Scooby we are calling her Scrappy. She is still driving me crazy and so hyper but we are trying to work on her issues.

Oh I was thinking about this the other day. I haven’t updated anyone on how my eating lifestyle change has been going. Still doing Keto and been on it for about two months now and I am officially down 30 pounds. I can’t tell but as long as the scale says so I will take it…lol. I am losing I think in some odd places and the one place I want to lose is hanging on so it’s hard even to get good before and after pics. Like I am losing in my hips and lower belly a little but my upper belly (yes my belly splits above the waist and below the waist!) is not losing anything so it makes my after pics look like I weigh more cause that upper part sticks out even more now. πŸ™ My fat calves though I see a reduction in the fact that one use to be bigger than the other and now they are about the same…so like I said weird places. Oh well, I am still going to continue because I haven’t been this # on the scale in probably close to 20 years! Still a long ways to go but 30 pounds in the rightΒ  direction!

Enough rambling for today! Happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

NOTHING! I am really trying to cut back because I haven’t been reading much lately and don’t feel I should keep grabbing, though boy is that hard…lol.

Books read last week

  • Murder Once Removed – I really liked this one and can’t wait for another one!!!!!! It was so fast paced and I love the characters and learning about genealogy.
  • Magic Strikes – This series just keeps getting better and better! Both Barb and I are excited to get into the next one!

Currently reading

Β

  • In The Valley of the Sun – I must stay it’s a bit slower than I hoped which makes it a bit more of a struggle for me but I am curious. I am only like 65 pages in so there is still hope. πŸ™‚

What might be up next

Other than this one I am not sure what is up.

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

That’s great about the Keto diet! Glad it’s working for you. Sorry to hear about the puppy issues still. I mean, I’m glad your still caring for her even though she’s super hyper. That’s definitely got to be a load of good karma for you! πŸ˜‰

Not adding to the TBR pile is also good! I feel like I go crazy when I don’t get a new book, but I know I don’t need new books when I have 300+ old books to read! Lol. Hope you find your reading groove again! Happy Reading!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

Thank, I have had my ups and downs with Keto but sticking to it! πŸ™‚ I always want to add and I could with all the auto approved publishers I have on Netgalley so I have to be mindful lol.

You LOST 30 POUNDS already? Wow, that’s fabulous.

I loved In the Valley of the Sun. I think it’s character driven and not an action flick, so yeah, slower, but I loved the poetry in Davidson’s prose. Sometimes I’d stop and reread a sentence out loud just to hear it.

Yeah, it was a struggle for a few weeks as I didn’t think the scale was going to move then it finally did! πŸ™‚

Everyone I know seem to love In the Valley of the Sun and Barb and I are struggling with it. I like more horror in my horror I guess and it doesn’t even seem to be like a vampire story but a semi boring mystery. Sighs. This always happens to me when everyone else I know loves something…lol. πŸ™‚

SO PROUD OF YOU! Keep it up and send me some suggestions to check out where you got all your info on Keto. I want to add some of that to my eating habits. You really need to start doing posts about your journey. I would love to follow along with it! πŸ™‚

You might want to start watching some puppy training videos. I would bet you anything that will help a lot. She really is so cute! πŸ™‚

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! xx

Maybe I will do a post on my struggles while on Keto, the good and the bad things. What I have learned, etc. πŸ™‚

    • Stormi

Thanks! It’s not as bad as people thing but the first couple of weeks are hard as your body transitions from burning to carbs to burning fat. I don’t really miss bread or pasta because I just use different things I can have to substitute, like zoodles or this stuff called Fat head dough which is really just almond flour and mozzarella cheese…sounds weird but pretty good.

Oh, good for you for your weight loss, Stormi. It’s a difficult process. I’m working on it, too. Keep at it. We all know it’s worth it though it’s difficult.

Good luck with Scrappy! And I hope you have a good week.

    • Stormi

Its easy to be excited when the scale moves and bummed when it doesn’t so I do try to stay positive and realize my close are starting to get loose or almost fall off.

  5. Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer

Congratulations Stormi. I am impressed. Although we quit a nasty habit in July, and I think my hubby and I gained what you lost. I am hoping to lose it once winter breaks and I can walk my arse off! Literally.

    • Stormi

I thought it might be hard to do keto but it hasn’t been. It was a rough start with transitioning from burning carbs to burning fat. I think the hardest thing is cooking…lol. I hate cooking and it was always easier to eat cereal or something from a box than actual food…lol.

  6. Barb (boxermommyreads)

You are doing so well with Keto. Keep up the great work. I know you will reach your goal eventually and remember every little bit helps health wise. I sort of had a feeling Scrappy had found a home for good. Hopefully she calms down and it all works out in the end. Well, at least we can say we are finally reading In the Valley of the Sun – there’s always that!

    • Stormi

Thanks, I know and I need to stop thinking of those I see who are like I lost 90 pounds in 6 months and I am like how they do that I can’t even get past such and such a number…lol. Scrappy likes sleeping on the chair by dads bed and he says it’s fine with him as long as she stays there and behaves so he can sleep…lol. See I told you she was his dog. πŸ™‚

    • Stormi

I know it does and I so want to read it if I can get past this one I am currently on! πŸ™‚

  7. Berls

Woot! Woot! Congrats on the weight loss! Let me tell you, when I was losing the first 50-100 pounds felt almost invisible because it was all in places I really wasn’t worried about losing. But then all of sudden, all those weird places came together with the places I actually cared about to make one complete weight loss picture. So keep at it and know that even those weird places will matter in the long run πŸ™‚ So happy for you – Keto is good for sure (very similar to how they have us eat with Gastric Bypass).

Good luck with the pup! Have a great week!
