March 10, 2019 Memes 26

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Not much to report this week. I went to the doctor and he thought I had some ribs out so he popped me, he is one of those multi talented docs. πŸ™‚ He didn’t rule out shingles though as they can have no rash and since my back is still bothering me a bit especially when I get a cold chill which is often! #coldweathersucks. I may go back to the doctor not sure, I really hate going…lol.

Update on the stray dog, she is still here…ugh. They didn’t have a spot for her because they got a box of puppies that came in so they are booked up. πŸ™ They did give us some dog food for her though which helps because she is about to eat me out of house and home!!! I also tried another dog shelter but they were booked up too. πŸ™ Driving me crazy, she is to hyper. I am trying to work with her on STAY DOWN as she likes to jump and how to just sit there and lay down instead of running all over the house looking for FOOD!

First one was on her first day and you can see her ribs. Now she is starting to look healthy in the other pic and waiting to get in the house…she is really fast! LOL. Still not sure what type of dog she is except a pain in the behind! πŸ™‚

Have a great week and Happy Reading!

What I am watching

I am a hallmark junkie even if I have seen them a hundred times but I like using it for background noise too…lol. I also subscribed to Hallmark Now this week to try it out and it has shows I haven’t seen and TV series. I am thinking of trading it out with Acorn TV every few months as I can’t afford both of them. πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to watch The Crossword Mysteries on Hallmark Movie and Mystery channel tonight!! I love all the new mysteries but hope they continue with some of the old ones as well.

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

I think I made up for no books last week…lol.

  • Thread on Arrival – Book #8 in The Mainely Needlepoint series which is one of my favorites so I didn’t even look to see what it was about just clicked. πŸ™‚
  • Inside the Asylum – Book #3 in the Kathy Ryan series. I have enjoyed the first two so look forward to seeing what weird things she gets into in this one.
  • Wed, Read & Dead – Book #4 in the Mystery Bookshop series. This is not a favorite series and I don’t like the book in a book but if you skip that book I like the characters in the actual story enough to keep going…lol.
  • Layover – Psychological suspense about a guy who meets a woman at an airport, then she ends up on TV as a missing person.

Books read last week

  • Operation Frog – This was a cute MG book dealing with a lot of social issues and about how making a mistake can have consequences that you might not think about till it happens.
  • Crewel and Unusual – Another good one in the Haunted Yarn Mystery series, so glad this series got to make a comeback!

Currently reading

  • The Last Woman in the Forest –Β Off to a slow start but going to keep going cause Barb liked it so hopefully I will too! But we have been known to disagree now and then…lol. πŸ˜‰
  • Chocolate a la Murder – I have always enjoyed this series so I am curious to see how it goes…hauntings and chocolate! πŸ™‚ My Cozy theme for this month is paranormal so thought this would fit in good.
  • Slay in Character – I can’t believe I am behind on this series so I need to get going on it. Not started it yet but I will be soon.

What might be up next

  • In the Valley of the Sun – Doesn’t that cover look awesome! I got this from the author and Barb has it too so we are going to buddy read this one.
  • The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane – One of my many review books for March! I really don’t know how I do it but I always manage to get at least one month were it seems everything comes out! πŸ™‚
  • The Ghost Hunter Next Door – Another paranormal one for my theme this month. It’s first in a series so don’t know much about it but it looks cute. πŸ™‚

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Aww. Poor thing. A shame the shelters are all booked up, but I’m glad you’re still taking care of the hyper little thing. Hopefully there will be an opening soon. I can imagine an extra dog in the house, a puppy no less, can be adding to the stress. You’re doing a beautiful thing though! πŸ™‚

Nice new reads! Totally new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

I think whoever dumped her didn’t like that she was so hyper. Poor girl, just looking to be loved. I hope someone will take her but I really do think you should. πŸ™‚

I see you made up for the weeks of no books! YAY! Do you have your blogging groove back yet?

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! xx

Yeah, that is my thoughts too. If she could just calm down and learn not to jump on my, etc she would be a good dog. She is to expensive I already have to big dogs that eat a lot of food I really didn’t need another one. :\

Yeah, some series I read had some books out so had to be grabby…lol. I got a couple more for next Sunday already! πŸ˜‰ Not sure if my groove is back but I think I half to fake it till I make it or something like that. The dog is wearing me out now!

  3. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I’m reading Chocolate a la Murder now and am enjoying it and I really need to read Slay in Character. I didn’t get to it back in November somehow but I really want to. The stray is adorable and those eyes! Hopefully you’ll be able to find a shelter for her soon. Hope the pain goes away and that it warms up. I’m not a fan of cold either. Have a great week!

    • Stormi

Yeah, that series is always pretty fun!! πŸ™‚ I meant to read Slay in Character a while back too and it just didn’t happen. She is cute but more of a handful that I wanted at this time in my life…lol.

  4. Barb (boxermommyreads)

Scrappy is looking much healthier. I know she is driving you crazy but you and your Dad are doing such a good thing. I’m on a roll with reading right now but I’m sure it will fall off soon. I’ve already read 4 books this month. Take that Goodreads!

    • Stormi

She should look healthy that thing eats like it’s a HUGE dog and not a puppy!! Your reading way better than I am!!! πŸ™‚

  5. Carole @ Carole's Random Life in Books

What an adorable dog! How strange that you can’t find a shelter to take her in. I guess that I am lucky in St. Louis with so many different options. I already have 3 dogs which is the legal limit in my county or I would get another dog. Nice haul this week! I am tempted by Layover since I have enjoyed David Bell in the past. Have a great week!

    • Stormi

Yeah, there are only a few no kill shelters around here and all are full which is horrible that there are that many strays or dogs nobody wanted and dropped off.

    • Stormi

We have always had strays here as we live out in the country and people think country folk want their cast offs I guess! 😐

  6. Greg

Aww… as much as she’s a pain I think it’s so cool you’re taking care of the stray. Poor thing. And isn’t it sad that the shelters get so full?

I like having mystery shows on in the background. Enjoy the Hallmark ones! πŸ™‚

The Last Woman in the Forest I’m curious about- I’m waiting to see a few more reviews before I take the plunge.

    • Stormi

Thanks, I am a sucker for a dog but let me tell you she is really trying my patience! :\

    • Stormi

Oh don’t say that!! LOL I have five dogs I don’t need another mouth to feed especially since she eats like she has three heads!

    • Stormi

Thanks! I am a sucker for a puppy but this one is trying my patience! πŸ™‚
