BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So not a lot happened this week. It was nice not going to class but I feel like I didn’t accomplish much. I had some left over money on a fandango gift card so I was able to take Dad and I to see Aquaman! It was amazing! It was really cold and the special effects were pretty cool. I am not a huge fan of Jason Momoa as I haven’t really seen him in anything and I am not a long hair with beard kind of person but he is playing one of my favorite DC characters so I thought he did pretty good.

So for Christmas my family decided on Italian type foods. My Aunt is making a lasagna and I am making some sort of spicy pasta thing I found on facebook! Hope it turns out good…lol. We will start at Noon as my Aunt has other obligations later on and then I am going home and preparing to watch the When Calls the Heart: A Christmas Blessing. I am still made they killed off my favorite character but I can’t wait to be back with all those in Hope Valley!! 🙂

Have a great week and have a great Christmas!! Hope you all get lots of cool book goodies for Christmas!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Missing, Presumed Dead – With a touch, Lexi can sense how and when someone will die. Some say it’s a gift. But to Lexi it’s a curse—one that keeps her friendless and alone. Then she has to help a ghost get revenge. Sounds pretty cool. I am a little nervous though because I wasn’t a huge fan of this authors first book but willing to try again! (Releases in May)
  • Monsterstreet: The Boy Who Cried Wolf – The first book in a chilling new middle grade series in the vein of Goosebumps, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf is a fast-paced, fun, and spooky read with a classic scary-story feel about a boy who discovers that his father was killed by a legendary werewolf. Sounds pretty fun to me! 🙂 (Releases in July)

Christmas presents!!

  • My bookish BFF Barb got me these for Christmas and they are so cool! I have been collecting a few of the Hannah Swensen books to read as there are sooo many of them and I have been wanting a Beetlejuice funko pop for a while so YAY!

Print From Publisher

  • How I Became A Spy – Middle Grade mystery set in WWI, I am not usually a fan of books set in war settings but it sounded interesting so I thought I would try it.

Books read last week

  • Night Shift – A group of workers in Antarctica and someone is sabotaging things and there is no way to get help till the six months of winter is over. It was okay, I had a lot of questions I felt didn’t get explained that bugged me. Maybe it’s the end of the year and I am getting nit picky too…lol.
  • The Spooks in the Stacks – An old man is murdered in the library after he says he is thinking of giving the library his collection. I read a Halloween book during Christmas time…hehehe. 🙂 It was pretty good! I am glad this author found a new publisher for this series and I enjoyed it in the past, it’s just going to take a few to get back into the characters. 🙂

Currently reading

  • Camouflage – I swear I am going to finish it I am! I am 31% into it but it’s just not moving as fast as I prefer right now and I have so many books I want to get to too!
  • The Devil’s Fingers – I need to get this one done because it’s the buddy read book! Just started it.
  • Murder By The Book – I have about 4 hours left of this one. It’s decent but maybe not turning into a favorite.

What might be up next

How was your week? What did you get?

  1. Nice! For whatever reason, I have a hard time getting into the new DC movies! I like the Marvel ones fine, but the few DC ones I tried to watch failed to hold my attention. Glad you liked Aquaman even a little bit though!

Nice new reads too! Some new to me ones but I hope you will enjoy them all!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. I just started The Garden of Blue Roses by Michael Barsa, a meaty, literary, Gothic horror novel that I’m thoroughly enjoying. I have a Catherine Cavendish book (a different one from yours, she has so many) on my TBR, too.

    Have a peaceful, wonderful Christmas!

  3. I am not a fan of Jason Mo(whatever his name is) I don’t find him as attractive as everyone else. Oh well, I am planning to binge watch when calls the heart at some point. I have been wanting to see it for a while.

Enjoy all your new books! 🙂 Have a great Christmas, Stormi! Miss you!

  4. Wow, you were killing it on blog posts this week. I LOVE Ilona Andrews and Jim Butcher. I also have read almost all of the Joanna Fluke books (set in Minnesota)

Have a wonderful holiday week! Merry Christmas! Anne – Books of My Heart

  5. Sounds like you have a fun Christmas planned. We’ve done lasagna a few times and it usually works out great- hope yours does too (and good luck with the pasta!) Watching a Christmas movie afterward sounds fun.

I wasn’t that impressed with the Jason Momoa casting either (mainly because he just doesn’t… look like Aquaman to me lol?) but I’m glad to hear it was good. I’ve been hearing good things.

Camouflage was a tad slow moving for me at times too, and Night Shift- sorry to hear it wasn’t better- I’m always a sucker for thos Antarctica books haha.

  6. I’m reading Night Shift and it is slow going. I’m still curious enough to keep going. Monster street is already on my list and sounds fun. I’m reading the Spine Chillers series, tagged for the same reading audience and always happy to find more in a similar vein. Jason was great in Game Of Thrones and does a pretty good job in the Frontier show. I’d like to see Aquaman. Have a very Merry Christmas, Stormi!

  7. So I must be the odd one out. I’m a huge Jason Momoa fan (and find his scruffiness very nice to look at) but I still never imagine him as Aquaman. I’m glad the movie was good. We finally watched Antman and Wasp Woman this weekend and it was good too. Of course you know Venom rocked for me. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
