The Week In Review #213

September 9, 2018 Misc. 24

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

This week has been sort of a blah week. I just haven’t felt like doing much but not sick or anything. I get this way sometimes. It’s been a week for more binging TV than for reading and you will that below. If you read my binge watchers post you will see the lovely things I have been watching and then I even watched more than that…lol.

So it’s been an off week but not a horrible week. Hope you have had a great week!! Happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Dark Water – It’s about a psychic who doesn’t want to be involved in law enforcement but a serial killer coming to her small town and makes her team up with a Special Agent who she is not fond off. Yep, it’s a romantic suspense. 🙂
  • The Night Crossing – Bram Stoker kept secret a tale even more terrifying than Dracula. Yep, that line drew me in…lol.

Books read last week

  • The Siren and the Specter –  Though there are things I was not a huge fan of this is very much the type of Haunted House story that I could enjoy. It was never dull and lots of spooky weirdness!

Currently reading

  • Down a Dark Hall – Yep, still working on this one and only got to page 61 but I am liking it just lack of reading.
  • Backwoods Ripper – Should have been able to get this one out but didn’t so 3 hours left.
  • Gemina – Just starting it. I am doing a readathon called Tome Infinity and Beyond that is about sci-fi reads and I am not a huge sci-fi person but reaching out of my comfort reading zone. 🙂

What might be up next

What I watched

So this week I really fell down the TV binging rabbit hole and I guess maybe I needed a reading break…lol. I binged the first two season of Lucifer and was not happy that Hulu only had the last five episodes of season 3 so I couldn’t watch it!! Now I will have to wait for Netflix to put it on there since they are going to be doing the four season. Then I watched Take Two it only has one season as it was a new show last fall and kind of a gender switch up on Castle about a male PI and a female actress who follows him around to learn how to be a PI and likes it. Then on Acorn TV I watched a six episode mini series called Mystery Road which was pretty good and located in Australia. Then Saturday I pretty much just got lost in Hallmark mushiness…lol. Yep, fell down a hole! 🙂

How was your week? What did you get?

Hallmark Mushiness is what I watched all weekend too!!! I was just in the mood and I know the harvest ones are coming up soon and those I love.

Did you see the book This Lie Will Kill You by Chelsea Pitcher? It’s something that we would read. lol The synopsis sounds like Ten. I requested it on Edelweiss but I never get requested books so I will probably just get it when it comes out lol

You might need a short hiatus to get back into the groove. I feel better having taken a break or maybe a change of genre? That always helps.

I hope this week is a better reading week for you, Stormi! Happy Reading! ox

Yeah, I like the Harvest ones too and can’t believe that Christmas ones will be starting soon, it seems like they were just on…lol. I will have to check out that book I am hit or miss on EW whether I get what I request.

I am really curious about The Night Crossing because the last book I read by this author I DNFed…so I really hope I like this one!

Must be something in the air for feel good shows. 🙂 I thought Illuminae was okay so I hope Gemina is good too.

Totally get it! Sometimes you just want to binge watch TV and books aren’t at the top of the list. You have me really curious about Lucifer as I think this is the second week you’ve mentioned it! Me and Kiko will have to check it out when we’re done with our current list of shows. Hope you have a great week!

I totally have weeks where I feel way more like binging than reading. In fact this week was like that lololol. I’ve been binging Wentworth like nobody’s business.

Hope you enjoy Gemina- I think it’s the best of the three myself, but hopefully it works for you!
