The Week In Review #212

September 2, 2018 Misc. 15

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Not a whole lot to talk about this week. Just my class and if I get brave I might show you my first little project when I get it finished. 🙂 It’s what we are learning with so it’s not perfect but it’s been interesting learning how to make things move. 🙂

Pretty boring week so that’s all I got…lol. Have a great week and happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

  • Something Wicked – Joined up for a blog tour for this one as it sounded pretty good. On his eighteenth birthday, Elaine Carr’s son Nicholas disappeared in the woods near his home. He hasn’t been seen since. Sounds like it will be a good one.
  • The Chrysalis – You might have seen this on my Waiting on Wednesday! Combines chills, thrills, and a literal monster in the basement with commentary on love, marriage, and impending parenthood.
  • The Bus on Thursday – I am not sure about this one but I was curious so I just had to request it. Bridget Jones meets The Exorcist reeled me in.
  • I Do Not Trust You – I read a book by this author a few years back and liked it okay so thought I would try another. It’s a YA fantasy/mythology type of read that sounds kind of cool.

Publisher:

  • The Toy Thief – Doesn’t that just look super creepy! I forgot to mention this one last week. Thanks Flame Tree Press!
  • Slimer – Valancourt pub is starting to revamp a lot of 80’s horror and they where nice enough to let me have an eARC of this one! I am so curious!

Books read last week

  • Blackbird of the Gallows – It’s a YA paranormal and it’s not real fast paced or action packed but at the same time I really enjoyed my time with it.
  • Kill Hill Carnage – Plays out like a bad Syfy movie in book form and I wasn’t that impressed. I wanted to really like it but it was just okay.
  • The Nightmare Room – Finally a haunted house/haunted person book I enjoyed. 🙂

Currently reading

  • The Siren and the Specter – Not gotten far but hope it’s a good one.
  • Down a Dark Hall – Not officially started yet but will later today. I have had this on my shelf forever and seen it was a movie now.
  • Backwoods Ripper – Just started it today so no opinion.
  • The House on Pooh Corner – I listened to a different version of Winnie the Pooh but it didn’t have  The House on Pooh Corner so I am listening to that part on this one…this is a much better listen than the other edition I tried…lol. It has a full cast including Stephen Fry and Judi Dench! I only have a 2:30 listen so it will be a nice change up from all the horror. 🙂

What might be up next

What have I been watching?

I fell down the Lucifer rabbit hole a couple of days ago and I am currently on season two…lol.  I must admit I didn’t think I would like it as much as I do!

How was your week? What did you get?

Oh that’s cool, not sure I have ever seen that movie, but maybe I will see if I can find it after I read it.

Nice book haul. I am curious about Something Wicked, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it. I have a copy of The Chrysalis, but haven’t had the time to read it yet. I am hoping that it will be a good one for you. Hope you have a great week.

Something Wicked looks good and I’ve been seeing The Chrysalis around- looks promising! And ooh Winnie the Pooh to listen to- that sounds fun!
