The Week In Review #211

August 26, 2018 Misc. 16

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So my bit has finally gotten better! Still hurts a little at times but the doc says that it might be like that and that even though it’s still red it’s healing. So yay! πŸ™‚

We needed rain but I can officially say I am sick of rain! We get about three days of sun next week before it’s back to rain…blah. Though I prefer it to get all that rain out now so when winter hits we don’t get snow…lol.

Class started this week and so far it’s pretty interesting so I think I will like it.

That’s about it. Happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley/Edellweiss

Β
  • Thread Herring – Book seven in the Mainely Needlepoint mystery series, so excited to see a new one out! A series I am actually caught up on! πŸ™‚
  • The Nightmarchers –Β all-new bone-chilling novel where a mysterious island holds the terrifying answers to a woman’s past and future. Sounds good to me!

Audio for review

  • Maw –Β a thrilling tale of an underground expedition to the deep…and the ultimate struggle for survival.

Library Loot

  • Black Bird of the Gallows – Seen it around and it sounds cool.

For class: πŸ™‚

  • The Animator’s Survival Kit – It’s full of all sorts of neat drawings and info on animating and is actually pretty cool and very heavy!

From publicist

Β
  • Rosemarked – the second part of the duology comes out this year and they were looking for people to promote it. When I said I hadn’t read the first one Disney Hyperion was nice enough to send the first one my way. πŸ™‚Β  It’s a YA fantasy about a healer who gets the deadly rose plague and has to team up with a soldier when a threat comes. Sounds kind of interesting.Β Thanks Disney Hyperion!
  • Kill Hill Carnage – Requested this one and was excited to get it in the mail! Sounds like a camp slasher type book! πŸ™‚ Thanks Erin!

Books read last week

Β Β
  • Lies – I really liked this one though I thought it was a tad bit to long at 419 pages, could have been cut down about 50 pages. I figured out some of it but the end still held a surprise for me. πŸ™‚
  • Unsub – This was really good!!! Barb told me I would like it and she was right now I want the next one!
  • Kisscut – Boy KS is not afraid to hit with the hardcore make you angry type scenarios! Enjoyed every bit of it. πŸ™‚

What might be up next

Β

As you can see I am kind of in a horror mood and I think from now till the end of October might be pretty horror heavy. πŸ™‚

How was your week? What did you get?

Glad to hear that your bite is getting better. Sounds like it might be one of those things that take a long time to heal completely. We had a lot of rain this week but the weekend has been dry which was nice. Nice new reads. Kill Hill Carnage sounds really good. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed Unsub! I loved that book. Barb has good taste πŸ™‚ Have a great week!

I am so hoping Kill Hill Carnage is good! Not gotten far yet but it starts out bloody…lol. I really liked Unsub!

Wow that bite has kinda stuck around, huh? Damn spiders lol. Glad it’s healing though. And we got quite a bit of rain last week too, although now it’s just hot again. πŸ™‚ Is it too much to ask to have mid 70’s and a breeze lol?

Lies looks good even if it is a bit too long.

    Have a great week Stormi!

Yeah, you should see me smashing ever spider I see in retaliation…lol. πŸ™‚ Ohh 70’s would be great! πŸ™‚ Lies was really good. πŸ™‚

You got lots of good books this week. I also have Rosemarked you need to tell me how it is. I have wanted to read it. Love the cover of that book.

I am so happy to hear that your bite mark is healing. Maybe you are allergic to whatever bit you that is why it took so long.

Good Luck with your new class, can’t wait to see what you make! πŸ™‚

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! πŸ™‚

I love finding the genre that really fits my mood at the moment. Lately for me it’s been more women’s fiction but I’m feeling like I might want to mix in some creepier stuff when we get closer to Halloween. Glad the bite is feeling better and that your class is interesting. Can’t wait to hear more about it. I got Thread Herring too. Now I need to actually read the books I’m behind on!
