The Week In Review #203

July 1, 2018 Misc. 22

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So you will see from what I read this week that I was to busy to even read! I worked all week moving in upstairs and finally got there by Saturday. It feels a bit weird being up here after being downstairs for so long. I am also really really sore as this pleasantly plump body is not use to going up and down stairs like six or seven times in a day carrying heavy boxes, etc. I don’t have everything up here yet but all the essentials are up there. πŸ™‚ It’s not a perfectly made room but it was built by non-carpenters with love and crooked lines. πŸ™‚

Books are not in the bookcases yet as I am taking this time to organize and arrange them how I want them and going to make a spreadsheet in hopes of getting somewhat organized at least bookwise. πŸ™‚

Β

It’s also so hot here I feel like I am melting even in the AC! I don’t mind summer but not a fan of heat indexes in the 100’s!

The heat is getting to my garden a little bit and I still have no green tomatoes even though there are a lot of green ones! On the other hand I have one zucchini growing, my jap peppers have blooms and my cucumbers are flowering! If the heat doesn’t kill them! Maybe some pics next Sunday.

Happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Β
  • A Tale of Two Murders – I only had to see the name Charles Dickens and mystery for this to catch my eye.
  • The Boy in the Keyhole – Is one on my anticipated reads list so I hope it’s as creepy as it sounds. A young boy’s mother abruptly disappears and after some investigating he suspects she might have been murdered by the person he is now living with.

Books read last week

  • The Coffin Maker – This was a lot of fun! It’s a town that revolves around horror and just all things spooky and it was a mystery as well.

Currently reading

Β
  • Batman: Nightwalker – I am enjoying this one. I made it to about 30% as I didn’t get much reading in.
  • Broken Promise – So far it’s okay, I didn’t realize when I got it that it was part of a series and so sometimes I feel like I missed something but it’s not hindering things to much. (Besides the fact that it bugs me that I didn’t read the first two!) Only about 10% into this one.
  • Salems Lot – Maybe not as enjoyable as my first time reading it as a teen but it’s okay. I have a little over 5 hours to go.
  • Dead Beat– Very enjoyable as always! I almost got this one done as I only have a few hours left.

What might be up next

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Yeah, I’m with you on hating this weather too! The humidity, heat index making it 100+, and did I mention the humidity?! Lol! It’s miserable! Luckily I had a nice weekend last week at my aunt’s up north and the weather was just gorgeous!! I miss it already!

Nice new reads too! They are totally new to me ones and I hope you enjoy them both!

    Here’s my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

The apartment looks great. We’re also having those ridiculously high heat indexes in the 100’s. I hate that.

I want to read Death and a Pot of Chowder. Looks good. Enjoy your books and have a great week. Stay cool!

    • Stormi

I can’t wait to get to Death and the Pot of Chowder, if I can get some reading time! πŸ™

    • Stormi

Yeah, it’s starting to feel cozy but goodness I didn’t realize how much stuff I had till I started moving it up! πŸ™ πŸ™‚

I enjoyed Aru Shah it was interesting learning about mythology from India. I have enjoyed Rick Riordan though I am behind on his books as I have only read the Percy Jackson series.

Looks nice, glad you got your moving done! Setting up bookshelves the way you want them sounds like fun. πŸ™‚ I’m not a fan of those crazy heat indexes either- summer seems to have exploded heatwise!

Broken Promise looks interesting! Hope it turns out good.

    Stay cool somehow! πŸ™‚

Slowly I am getting things put where I want them but I am realizing I need more storage space and bookcases. πŸ™‚

Thanks, it’s taking a bit to get it organized and I didn’t realize I had so much stuff. It’s like spring cleaning in summer as I bring things up I am rearranging downstairs as well.

  4. Tammy @ Books, Bones & Buffy

I love your upstairs space, it must be fun to be able to reorganize all your books. I hope the weather calms down, though. 100 degrees isn’t fun. I’m sure the heat is coming soon in my part of the country:-/

    • Stormi

It has been fun but overwhelming too. I didn’t realize I had so much stuff!

  5. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

I don’t envy you the moving boxes around! It always amazes me what muscles I discover when I have to do that. Your new space loves lovely – crooked lines aside :). It’s hot here too. I like hot weather but we’ve hit the part of summer where it’s gotten a bit out of hand! Have a great week!

    • Stormi

Oh my do I have more things than I thought when it comes to bringing it upstairs!
