BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Oh my goodness is it ever hot! Though I like the hot more than the cold but the heat index is killer! My poor garden! I really hope we get some rain soon as we are very dry here. Plus side of that I don’t have to mow! 🙂

So I am getting a lot of little green tomatoes and a few big ones but nothing turning red yet. 🙁 No peppers on my plants yet either. My other plants are still growing but the toms and jap peppers I have had the longest…sighs. Might need some miracle grow and well a nice downpour wouldn’t hurt…lol. Something about a good rain on your plants just does wonder.

Happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Looks like both  Kathy and I had some good reads to review this last week! 🙂

Books I have added

  • A Wrench in the Works – Since I didn’t seem to mind so much jumping in the middle of this series (I think watching the hallmark show helped), I figured why not continue! I can’t wait to read this one!
  • Little Comfort – I have a soft spot for librarian protagonist and I really like that cover!
  • Liar’s Paradox – I mystery series involving a brother/sister team and I thought that sounded cool.

From MacMillan Audio

  • Our Kind of Cruelty – A very dark and strange psychological thriller!
  • The Devil’s Half Mile – Don’t normally go back so far in history for my mystery thrillers as this one is in 1799. 🙂

Library Loot

  • A Bone to Pick – Though extremely different that the tv version I still enjoy the first one so needed to get to this one.
  • Dead Beat – So I got addicted to Dresden again via James Marster narrator! 🙂
  • Salem’s Lot – I have decided to go back and listen to SK books from the beginning on audio. I don’t do well with long books so audio is the best way to go these days. I am only picking the ones I can find at the library or hoopla so we shall see how this goes! 🙂

Books read last week

  • Stage 4 Murder – Another fun installment in this series. These books always have me laughing out loud!
  • Daring Dreamers Club – This was a cute MG about friendship and daring to dream.
  • Blood Rites – It was so fun getting back into the Dresden Files and the narrator is just so fantastic!
  • Blindsighted – This author can really write a very disturbing crime novell! I like it! 🙂

Currently reading

  • Jurassic Florida – This one is so much fun! Was hoping to finish it but got caught up in those animal attack movies! Will finish it today!
  • When Animals Attack – I am almost finished! I have made it to about 89% and found out that even though the table of content only goes to Squirm (nasty worm movie…eww), there was a whole bunch more not listed!! So I am on Ticks (gives the me hibbie jibbies just thinking about that one!).
  • Hell House – So far it’s not to bad and I know some think it’s kind of boring but I think listening to it on audio and at a faster speed helps, especially with all that paranormal babble about electro thingy majigs…lol. I have little under 7 hours left.
  • Our Kind of Cruelty – I am not real sure what I think about this one as it’s rather dark and disturbing. Though I normally like that kind of stuff it’s just different, strange, and all kinds of stalkerish. I just know something bad is going to happen and I keep waiting for it to happen!  Oh my, it just happened! I was writing this and listening to it lol. 3.1 hours left and I am curious to see how this goes!

What might be up next

What I watched

I watched a lot of animal attack horror movies! Monkey Shine (1988), Piranha (1978), Prey (2007) Shakma (1990)(another monkey movie), Squirm (1976), Strays (1991), The Last Shark (1981) (total Jaws ripoff with a really bad plastic shark!), The Deadly Mantis (1957), The Giant Claw (1957), The Deadly Bat (1940’s with Bela Lugosi!), The Pack (though not the one in the book as couldn’t find it, this was a 2015 dog attack movie), Killer Bees (1974) (Was trying to watch The Swarm but it ended up being a later bee movie), The White Buffalo (1977) (more western than horror…blah..but it had a very large killer buffalo!)

  1. It’s finally warming up here, too, but we’ve been lucky enough to have rain almost every night, so the garden is green. We have cherries, strawberries and raspberries galore 🙂 So good!
Your new books look really good, Stormi, I hope you’ll enjoy them all.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

  2. Starting to feel like we might not be getting as much rain as I was thinking. I know we have a few Thunderstorms this week but that sometimes only gives you like a 10 minutes downpour but that isn’t enough. it’s also going to be VERY hot, maybe now you will move to Alaska with me! 🙂

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading! oxox Miss you!!!!

  3. Very nice book haul, Stormi. It’s boiling hot here too but we are getting rain every day. Wish I could send some your way. So humid here and the storms keep chasing me indoors.

  4. Yeah the rain does wonders- hope you get some soon. It’s been hot here too- I walked outside this morning and it was like a solid wall of heat. I pretty much came back in!

A Wrench in the Works looks fun, I need to try Carlisle, and Jurassic Florida lol- I so need to read that!

  5. It’s warm here, too, but probably not as bad as where you are. It’s just so weird how it could be near 90 one day and then drop to 60 the next.

I was just looking over the list of Julie Mulhern books I need to catch up on. I read the first two and loved them. I need to continue them.

Hope you have a great week and it gets cooler.

  6. I really liked that Aurora Teagarden book. I keep meaning to reread the whole series but haven’t gotten very far even though I enjoy what I have read. It’s suddenly gotten hot here too. I’m kind of glad I didn’t plant anything because this kind of heat always seems to stall everything. I will say that it always feels like peppers take fooooorever and then start producing tons. I think I’m going to start Staged 4 Murder. It’s not technically next on my review scheduled but it’s such a fun series. Have a great week!

  7. You know how I feel about the heat. I wonder when they will have more fixer upper movies on Hallmark – they’re my fave. I never read the Teagarden ones. Have you tried her other mystery series? The Harper Connelly books. There are only 4 and I think you’d like them. Good luck with To Kill a Kingdon 😉
