BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Besides the wackiness of the weather here I don’t have much to talk about…lol. I do think we are creeping slowly towards some spring weather but the nights are still a bit chilly.

I have been really busy with my new project as it’s due on May 2nd and a lot to do. I have my restaurant logo and most of the menu made, I know what I want to do for the storefront sign and the coasters will be easy, but the billboard sign might take some thought. 🙂 I think for the time frame I am doing pretty good so not totally stressed but pretty busy. 🙂

Happy reading!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley/Edelweiss

NOTHING!!! 🙂 How did that happen…lol.

Audiobooks for review

  • God’s Hammer – I got this cool email from my tantor contact saying an author of their contacted her and wanted to see if she could get some bloggers to review his audiobook series. When she asked him who he had in mind I was on his list!!! 🙂 So even though this isn’t normally something I would pick up I do like Viking history and this is a historical fiction and it sounds decent. Also I won’t have to worry about trying to pronounce all those weird names!! Bonus! 🙂

Library Loot

All of a sudden my online library bought four books I recommended. I was first on the list for two! 🙂

  • The Wicked Deep – I have heard nothing but good things about this book on booktube and I was kind of curious anyway so I hope I like it! I heard it’s kind of like Hocus Pocus and some other things mixed together (can’t remember what the others things were…lol).
  • Time Bomb – It’s about a group of high schoolers trapped in their school with a bomber and it could be one of them. This was an anticipated read so I am nervous as they haven’t gone so well for me this year…lol. 🙂

Books read last week

  • Winter People – This author writes some weird books! I liked it but not real sure what I would rate it yet, the twist she gives in the end is always surprising. It’s just a strange read. 🙂
  • The Quiet Type – This was another strange read too! I really liked it but the author can create a very creepy character! It’s about a female serial killer and she has been killing for a while, she married a mortician and she is a chef! Yeah, it was messed up but cool!!! 🙂
  • The Summer of Broken Things – It’s a YA contemporary and really not my thing…lol. I knew the author wrote cool adventure stories for middle grade so I thought this might have a cooler secret than it did. But basically it’s a whole book about well…you remember the story about the country mouse and the city mouse…lol. This is about a rich spoiled brat and a shy country girl going to Spain together where things unravel. It was a whole book of the spoiled brat whining and it was 402 pages and could have been cut down 100 pages at least, it was way to long. I am having mixed feelings about it. I didn’t hate it but did like it all that much either. Mostly it’s just not my genre.

DNFed

  • Fiction Can Be Murder – This doesn’t happen to much with cozies but I just hated the MC and just couldn’t do it. I will tell you more about it on Thursday as this was my buddy read with Barb (who braved it through the whole thing!).

Currently reading

  • Mardi Gras Murder – I love this series and so when I was slumping over trying to read Fiction Can Be Murder and finishing The Summer of Broken Things I decided to crack this baby out! Heck I didn’t even realize it don’t come out till October but I didn’t care I needed a happy fun make me laugh read! 🙂 I am 31% in and so happy to be back with my Cajun friends!
  • The Lucky Ones – Just verily started this one so I don’t really have an opinion of it yet.
  • Captive on the Fens – One of my favorite British Crime series and I am three behind so I need to get busy! 🙂

What might be up next

  1. Good luck with your project, sounds like you’ve got it well in hand. Do share when you’re finished 🙂

Have a great week and happy reading!

  2. Best of luck on your project! I hope everything goes smoothly. Good job on not requesting anything from NetGalley or Edelweiss. I try to stay away from those sites because I’ll end up requesting too many books.

  3. It is finally getting a little better here weather- wise, still unseasonably cool but we seem to be moving mostly into 50’s now. Is that ridiculous or what lolol? But I better not complain too much or I’ll get snow dumped on me again!

Good luck w/ the project! Sounds like you’re coming along pretty well.

I hope Time Bomb is good!

  4. I’m eager to read your review of Fiction Can be Murder since I was thinking about reading this one. I want to find out why you DNFed it before I decide if I want to read it. ( :
