Wow, it was cold here this week! I can’t complain to much though because those poor people up north, if your up that way you have my prayers. The weather is so out of control it’s crazy.
Besides hibernating from the very cold weather I am not use to I didn’t do a whole lot but clean around the house, blog and read. So not much to talk about this go around. ๐

Books I have added
Netgalley/Edelweiss
- Sirens – So I seen the second book on someone’s Waiting on Wed. I believe and seen the first one was available to get on Netgalley so of course this happened…lol.
- The Skin Room – This is what happens when I shouldn’t browse Edelweiss…lol. It’s a horror and sounded really cool.
- The Lies They Tell – I tossed this one back and forth and finally caved as I have been enjoying some YA thrillers lately. ๐
Audiobooks for review
- Tailing a Tabby – I recently listened to the first in this series and enjoyed it so can’t wait to get to this one. ๐
- Dial M for Mousse – Read the first and I have the second one so I need to it as I am trying to keep up with my more recent cozies so I don’t get behind like I am with all the others. ๐
Bought (kindle)
- Punishment – I seen this one on the January Kindle First books and it sounded interesting. It’s a detective novel though it doesn’t really look it from the cover…lol.
- Sherlock Academy – I got a $25 gift card so I can splurge a bit and it was .99 so see I splurged a lot…lol. I am a sucker for anything Sherlock. ๐
Library Loot
- The Cuckoo’s Calling – I have seen this one around and I was curious and it was available to borrow online so I did. I got the audio version.
Books read last week
- A Treacherous Curse – Loved it, but oh my goodness the author is killing me with Veronica and Stoker. It’s like the couple you want to see together but the author just dangles it right in front of you not letting it quite happen! Loved the mystery involving an Egyptian curse.
- Of Murder and Men – Another great one from this author, although her other series is my favorite I am enjoying this one too. I like that it featured Sasha who is from The Tourist Trap Mysteries, who has left the cafe to go to be in the literary world, so it was kind of nice getting to spend time with her again.
- Purrfect Murder – This was just a fun short mystery involving a talking cat. The cat Max is the narrator of the story and can talk to his human. It made me laugh and had a good mystery too.
Currently reading
- Ditched 4 Murder – Loved the first one so I can’t wait to dig in.
- Fit to Die – I really liked the first one I listened to not long ago so jumped right in. ๐
- The Cuckoo’s Calling – This is kind of long for a detective novel and a 15 hour listen so I am listening to it in bits but so far I am enjoying it.
What might be up next
How was your week? What did you get?
I’m not a huge fan of cold weather, but I would rather have cold weather than hot. I can always put on more clothes, at some point, I have to stop taking it off. LOL
See I would rather have hot weather because I can cool off in the AC, but in the cold I am never really warm, our house is drafty. I have to go out in the cold and get wood. Winter makes me want to hibernate and not come out of the house till spring. ๐
OOh nice! Totally new to me reads! I hope you enjoy each and every one of them!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!

Thanks for stopping by!
Looks like quite a variety of books. I totally hold you responsible for me grabbing The Skin Room๐ Hope The Chalk Man is good.
I saw that…lol. I am sure you will pay me back soon. ๐ I hope The Chalk Man is good too, I have seen good reviews. ๐
It’s been so cold here and I am officially ready for Spring now. ๐ Enjoy all your new books and happy reading.
I think a lot of us are ready for spring now after all this cold. ๐
I’m liking your new books, Stormi. I spent the week taking down holiday decorations. Other than that, I watched the telly and read some books. Too cold for anything else. LOL
Yeah, it got really cold down your way. ๐
I know I shouldn’t be complaining about our cold either… it’s nothing to the north and boy do I feel for them. But, I’m also still complaining. Because I live in Dallas and this is unacceptable! ๐ Hope you have a warmer week!
This week we are going to be warm and even one day in the 60’s, then boom back to 27! ๐ It’s not fair to tease me like that then throw me back in the cold…lol.
It’s way too cold. Like a snowpocalypse around here too lol. Glad to see that Death Below Stairs was a good read, I’ve been eyeing that one. ๐
I bet it is, not sure how you deal with the cold and snow up there…brrrrr. It was really good so if you like historical mysteries you should try it.
The Man’s parents were supposed to come for a visit…but they’re those poor people stuck up north. :/ It is just too much cold. I can do OK with 50 degree days. I hope it warms up this week!
Iโm not enjoying the cold either and am staying inside as much as I can. I enjoy Of Murder and Men too and enjoyed seeing Sasha though I agree I like her other series better. Thatโs crazy youโre listening to The Cuckooโs Calling too! I got mine on a whim from the library too. Iโm enjoying it though Iโm only about 25% in. I think Iโd be impatient for them to get it on with it if I was reading it.
