The Week In Review #171

December 17, 2017 Memes 19

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So the semester is over and I ended up with a 95 as an overall grade so not to bad. I think my little animation came out pretty good so I am going to put it here for you guys to see. 🙂 The class I wanted which is graphic design 3 isn’t offered but the teacher said I could take graphic 4 so I am going to and I hope it’s not too bad, it’s about branding and working on our portfolio, etc.

Might take a minute to load and work, this took me forever to figure out how to put it on here!!! 🙂

The weather here has been nice and next week looks like it might be pretty nice for December, but that last week of the year looks like winter will be rearing it’s ugly head, I knew it was to good to be true…lol. I have enjoyed the nice weather while it lasted. 🙂

COYER started Saturday! I am doing the Winter Switch which means there are three phases and you can pick which one to do first so I am starting with the List ( I am so bad with list!) so I could get it out of the way…lol. I am going to be very laid back this COYER and not stress if all my books don’t count, etc.

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley

  • Making the Monster – Not a huge non-fiction fan but this sounded like an interesting book about the medicine and experiments from back then that inspired the author to write Frankenstein.

Audiobooks for review

  • What the Dead Leave Behind –  Set amidst the opulent mansions and cobblestone streets of Old New York, this enthralling historical mystery by Rosemary Simpson brings the Gilded Age to life in a tantalizing tale of old money, new love, and grave suspicion . . . I hope it’s a good historical mystery cause I really need one as I love them! 🙂
  • Americanos, Apple Pies, and Art Thieves – It’s almost Thanksgiving, and Fran is baking her family’s famous apple pies for the cafe. While pie fever spreads through Cape Bay, a world-famous artist holds a special art show in the town’s modest museum in honor of his late mother, who grew up there. Louis Cliffton’s paintings are encrusted with valuable gems and gold. At the opening night, the centerpiece of the show is stolen. When Fran investigates the case, she receives threats, and someone follows her home and vandalizes her cafe. What kind of thief would do this? A crazy outsider – or someone from her very own town? I so need to catch up on this series!! 🙂 Only a couple behind.

From the author

  • Fury of the Orcas – I have enjoyed this author a lot and was so excited to get this one! Barb and I will be buddy reading it this month so watch for our reviews!

Love your graphic- how fun! Great job and congrats on your grade. Glad to hear the weather has been holding there- it’s been cold here. And the snow is hanging on…

Monster Hunting and Fury of the Orcas looks fun. I’ve seen the Orca one on a couple of blogs now…

Your graphic is so cute! I don’t get how they aren’t offering the next course?? Hopefully the fourth course is just the thing for you!

Thanks! We only have one graphic arts teacher and he is spread pretty thin so he has to alternate courses between even and odd years and between Crowder in Neosho and the branch in Webb City so he can’t offer every class where I go and I won’t travel to the other branch as it’s to far to drive in the winter. So I have to take what is available for the next semester. Evidently not many people want to be design teachers cause they don’t make as much as actual designers…lol.

Oh wow, you are so productive last week. So happy to see you had many posts. I hope you enjoy your books this week and have a wonderful week. Glad about the good weather, too. 😁❤️

Thanks! It was fun to create. Wow, already read Fury! Glad it was a good one but then I haven’t read one of his I haven’t liked yet. 🙂

Such a great grade. I’m sure you’ll do great in the next class as well. I just saw on the news the government has been secretly investigating alien life forms for the past 7-12 years so who knows, somewhere an alien might actually be stealing Christmas packages. I can’t wait to read the Shea novel and the weather is acting crazy again here as well.
