BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Well what a week! So I had plans to do the Sbooktacular readathon but I haven’t done very well as things got in the way. One our car broke down again, but thank goodness it done so right as we were turning into JJ’s a little cafe in town and not while we were on the road cause the ball joint fell out and that could have been a tragic ending. πŸ™Β  It seems that it has been cracked for some time as it had a old crack and then the fresh new one! UGH. Then I forgot that Stranger Things 2 came out Friday and I binged the whole thing…lol. So not much reading been done but it’s not over till the 31st so maybe I can still get in a few. πŸ™‚

OMG! I hate you Mother Nature it is not right to be 29 degrees at night yet! Not in Missouri, we had two days with the highs in the high 40’s lows in the high 20’s and BRRRRR. Can we fast forward to spring. πŸ™‚ It is so weird because one day this week it’s going to be in the 70’s!

My poster projects are due on Monday and so here they are, they are in three different styles: Russian Constructivism, Bauhaus and Heroic Realism. I put them in that order so you know which poster belongs with which style. πŸ™‚ We had to base our posters on a real non profit organization so I picked Thorn that is about helping get those who exploit children on the internet as we had to use these child labor pics from the 1900’s for our posters.

Β Β Β

The one on the end was my first time messing with paints. We painted over a black and white photo which was really cool but getting the right face colors was pretty hard for someone who has never painted…lol. I am so ready for a new project and I do believe he said a book cover project was next!!!!

Well on to the good stuff!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Β Β
  • The Chalk Man – #barbmademedoit as I seen this one on her blog and immediately went and requested it…lol. Though not real keen on the flashback kind this will go from 1986 to present day and is a thriller and just sounded like one I would like.
  • Haven –Β YA fantasy about a boy who meets a girl who isn’t normal and some people want to kill her because of it. Sounds cool!
  • Historically Dead –Β Book two in the Stitch in Time Mysteries – I still need to read book one but couldn’t help myself!

Thanks Netgalley and Crown Publishing, Entangled Publishing and Kensington!

Audiobooks for review from Tantor

Β Β
  • Not a Creature was Purring – Love this series and I believe this is book six and believe it or not I am caught up on this one so I can jump right into this. Might have to sign up for the Ho Ho Ho readathon. πŸ˜‰
  • Gingerbread Man – Always wanted to try this series!
  • Mr. Peabody’s House – I love Eve Langlais though not real sure about the pack of werewolves to one gal, not so sure that it’s going to be my kind of read but I will try it cause I like the author, so this shall be a new adventure. πŸ™‚

Thanks Tantor!

For featuring Goodbye Christopher Robin on my blog the lovely lady at Grace Hill Media sent me a package. πŸ™‚

Tote and journal! πŸ™‚

Books read last week

  • City of Lies – This one wasn’t anything like I thought it would be and went more along the lines of historical romance than mystery. It was okay but just not anything like her other series which is a favorite of mine.
  • By Hook or By Crook – Book three in the Crochet Mysteries and it was pretty good. It had been a while since I listened to the first two but quickly fell right back in and remembered the characters. πŸ™‚

Currently reading

Β Β Β
  • Colt Harper: Esteemed Vampire Cat – this one has been pretty funny so far!
  • Dangerously Dark – needed to read this one for a while now and only about 5% in but it okay so far.
  • Blood Loss – Not bad so far but not real far either.
  • Turn of the Screw – Hoping to read this one before Halloween so cutting it short! Thank goodness it’s not a long audio!

What might be up next

Β Β
  • Touch of Red – Might not get this one in for the readathon but I have started it and I am intrigued so decided I will keep reading.
  • Northstars – Need to get caught up on all those graphics I got earlier! πŸ™‚
  • The Fury – I keep putting this one on here and I swear I am going to get to it this time. πŸ™‚

What I am Watching

I binged the who new season of Stranger Things!!! I couldn’t help myself and I enjoyed it. I need to catch up on NCIS and NCIS: NO, and Riverdale as I have been slacking. Watched the newest addition to the Hallmark mysteries Darrow and Darrow and it was pretty good. I love Tom Cavanagh (Harrison Wells on Arrow) so I have to be a bit partial…lol. Thank goodness for demand. Christmas has arrived on Hallmark already!!! I watched a few this weekend as I used it for background noise…lol.

How was your week? What did you get?

I really like your posters. Those turned out well. I still need to start season two of Stranger Things. I’m debating if I need to rewatch season one first. Also, DH doesn’t watch it, so I must watch when he’s up to other things, so it takes me a while. I have the same issues with American Horror Story and The Walking Dead. Have a great week.

  2. Barb (boxermommyreads)

I’ve slacked on Riverdale as well. That was a nice package they sent you – Pooh is the greatest. I got approved for Haven as well but at least I don’t think you can blame that one on me πŸ™‚ Our weather is crazy too but at least I don’t think we’ve been as cold as you. Going to do some spackling to a few spots today in the dining room and then hope to get deep inside a cozy while cuddled up on the couch. Glad you guys were at least safe when the car went out. Hope you get it fixed quickly!

  3. Jenea's Book Obsession

The posters look great! Sorry to hear about your car, that’s awful. We are going to watch Stranger Things today. Yay! I think my daughter has watched Riverdale at least 4 times on Netflix, she like Cole Spruce. lol… Enjoy the new books and thanks for stopping by earlier.

  4. Laura Thomas

I missed the beginning of the new season of Riverdale. Now I’ll have to catch up later. I also binged some of Stranger Things. Probably finish it on Halloween night. Thanks for sharing your posters. It looks like it’s hard to do. Kudos for you:) And a book cover next. That sounds perfect!
Lots of new lovelies, Stormi. I spy a few I’ll explore.

  5. Lark @ The Bookwyrm's Hoard

Thank goodness you all weren’t hurt when your car broke down. Eep! And good job on the posters! It’s not so cold here, but it did drop into the 50s today. With rain. I shouldn’t complain about the rain; we need it.

I am so out of it when it comes to new TV shows. I don’t watch much TV and we gave up cable, so it’s only what I can stream. But at least I’m enjoying the new Star Trek. We signed up for CBS All Access just to watch it.

Have a great week and enjoy Halloween!

We finally got fall weather, too! It was in the 80s during the days, and 40s in the mornings and at night. No freeze temps yet. That just sounds too cold for me! What great timing with the truck! I hope it is fixed soon and it’s not too astronomical. Your projects look so cool – I like the last one the best.

  7. Geybie's Book Blog

Oh sorry to hear about your car. Glad that you were ok.
I love NCIS series too but I haven’t had time to binge watching them. Lots of things have been going on that have kept me busy.
I hope you enjoy your new books and have a wonderful week. Happy reading. 😁❀️

Making the posters sounded like fun, but I imagine you are even more excited about book covers. Have fun and I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Have a great week.

  9. Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews

Sorry about your car, Stormi! Thank goodness it happened when you weren’t on the road! I hope it won’t be too expensive to get it repaired.

It’s cool here, too, and we changed to winter time this weekend, so it’s SO dark so early.

Have a wonderful week and happy reading. Miss you!

  10. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

That’s scary about the car! If it had to happen at least the timing was good. The posters are fantastic! I can’t imagine how difficult the painting is – especially the skin colors. It’s gotten colder here though I don’t think it’s gotten down to 29 thankfully. Regardless- I’m not a fan! That’s good to know about City of Lies. I’ve got it coming up next and I would’ve expected more mystery than romance too. Have a great week!
