Man, mother nature doesn’t not know what she is doing these days! We had two days were it was highs of 60’s lows in the 40’s and then back up in the 80’s and then tomorrow I think it might rain and go back to the 60’s and tonight it suppose to be in the 40’s. This going back and forth is going to give me a cold I just know it…but I must say 80’s in October is nice…lol. π
Not much to chat about today so let’s just get to the good stuff. π

Books I have added
Netgalley
- The Stories of Edgar Allen Poe – I guess I am in a graphic novel type of mood. This is a Manga Classic and hopefully I can figure out how to read backwards…lol.
- High Moon Vol. 1 – I couldn’t pass up one about werewolves!
- The Ripper’s Hellbroth – I like any kind of Ripper type novel. π
Audiobooks from author
- The author mentioned codes for her second novel but since I hadn’t read the first one she was nice enough to let me have them both. π They look like creepy mysteries! (I have started the first one and the author isn’t afraid of a bit of gore…lol)
Freebie
Free at time of purchase.
- You’ve Got Tail – Was talking to Barb about this author as she loves her other series and seen this one was free so thought I would give her a try. π
Books read last week
- Rosemary’s Baby – So this is not scary but it’s pretty creepy and strange and the ending a bit different. I liked it! (Bought)
- A Deadly Eclair – My first by this author and I enjoyed it. Who doesn’t like a foodie theme and it has lots of recipes in the back! (eARC)
- Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys: The Big Lie – Not your normal cutesy mystery here! This was very dark and kind of noir and I liked it. π (graphic novel)
- Halloween in Paradise – I really like this series and this is book six and I can’t wait to catch up on this series (only two more to go that is if the author takes enough of a break for me to catch up…lol) (audio)
Currently reading
Having a hard time keeping to one book so kind of reading on both of these…lol.
- The Breathless – Sort of a gothic type and the beginning is a bit slow for me. I am only about 23% in and I think it might start picking up now that the boy is back in town. π
- Alone – Just started this one so about 11% in but it’s already kind of strange.
- Luck and Judgement – Third in the DC Smith series and I am almost done so will finish this one today.
- Send in the Clowns – I am really liking this series and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. This one seems like the a perfect read for October. Since I am almost done with Luck and Judgement I went ahead and put this on my current list.
What might be up next
What I watched
I have been watching my favorite shows NCIS and NCIS:NO now they are back on a new season. Riverdale is back too!! I also watched The Babysitter on netflix and OMG it was so stupid and gory and well it made me laugh…lol. If you like those types of horror then check it out, I am telling you, you will roll your eyes a lot! I also watched Goodbye Christopher Robin via an online screener I was given and it was great. It was a drama that was bittersweet and good at the same time. It may have made me tear up a bit. π
How was your week? What did you get?
OOoh nice new reads! Totally new to me ones there! Hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my STS
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower π
Glad you could stop by!
You were really busy last week, Stormi! I’m glad you’re liking Julie Mulhern and Peter Grainger. They’re two of my favorite authors. And I read Rosemary’s Baby years ago. I agree it was kind of creepy! And I agree the weather is pretty strange the way it keeps changing so quickly.
Just finished Send in the Clowns and I really liked it! Can’t wait to get to the next one. π
Our weather has been more like summer. Expected 80’s today. I just can’t get in the mood to read this weekend no matter what I pick up. I did manage to finish a graphic novel though.
Hope you have had a chance to read this week! π
The weather was beautiful here yesterday. It must have been in the low 80s. Monday is supposed to be in the mid-50s though π I know it’s more appropriate weather for fall but I love warmer sunny days. We had a mild summer so I don’t mind at all.
I still need to get caught up on that Rachel Caine series. I loved Ink and Bone but haven’t read the second book yet.
Goodbye, Christopher Robin sounds really good. I plan to watch it when it’s on DVD. I don’t really know much about A.A. Milne.
Hope you have a great week!
I didn’t know a lot about A.A.Milne until the movie. π
It’s been around 90 and steamy here. Raining right now and the cold front is supposed to take it down to around 80 this week with cooler nights. Still warm enough to take a swim! Weird weather. LOL Liking your books. I nabbed High Moon too. I couldn’t resist. LOL
I am glad you grabbed High Moon too! π
Our weather is struggling to get below 90 degrees. I would trade it for 60s days! I hope you have a great week!
I will so take your 90’s!
It’s 43 today and 70 tomorrow. Put the flip-flops away? Don’t put them away? IDK. I love Rachel Caine. Have a great week my friend!
We had a few cold days but it’s back in the 70’s but this weekend it will rain again and get colder probably. π
Mother nature has been pretty good for us so far in October. We’ve had sun almost every day, and it’s been cooler, but still nice.
Your new books look really good. I hope you’ll enjoy them all.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Our October has been pretty nice here too so not complaining. π
Man, I really need to start watching Riverdale again!
You should, the first show of the season was really strange…lol.
Pressed to Death is on my list of books to read soon, too. I’ll have to read your review of The Hunt because I really liked the first book in that series. Have a great week!
My STS/Sunday Post
I can’t wait to get to Pressed to Death as I enjoyed the first one.
Send in the Clowns was pretty good, and yes perfect for this time of year. π I hear you on the weather stuff, it’s been kinda goofy here too. Mainly just warmer than you’d expect for Oct.
Loving Riverdale!
Yes, it was! I just finished it today and really liked it. π
The first episode of Riverdale season 2 was strange!
Sorry about the weather. I hope this week is more stable. Anyway, I LOVE NCIS series as well. So bummed that Ziva and Dinozzo are gone though. I haven’t watched it much lately but am planning to soon. I hope you have a wonderful week. Happy reading. πβ€οΈ
I love NCIS and yeah it kind of sucks that Ziva and Dinozzo isn’t there anymore but I am starting to like the new characters. As long as Gibbs is there I am good. π
I love Edgar Allen Poe. I just requested that graphic novel. I used to love NCIS, but I’ve gotten a bit sick of it. I’ve been binge watching Longmire now. I’m really enjoying it.
I hope we both like the Poe graphic even if we have to read it backwards…lol.
