The Week In Review #157

September 10, 2017 Misc. 21

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Not a whole lot to report on on the home front so that is good. Everyone here is doing pretty good. Dad is getting better and can now drive himself around!

The weather has cooled down a little, especially at night. It’s nice but at the same time I don’t want it to happen to quickly as I am not reading for what comes after fall. 🙁

Next week I will be brave and show you all my first photoshop picture. We had to take six different pictures and put them in one to make it look like they belong there. We have to have it done by next Wed. and I am a little nervous.

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • The Hanging Girl – A teen fake psychic has things go wrong when her plan doesn’t go right and she finds out those she is working with don’t mind killing to get what they want.
  • Play That Funky Music White Koi – I really enjoyed the first in the Lemon Layne mystery series (this is not breaking my ban as it is a series I am already reading and not a new series. 🙂 )
  • Captive on the Fens – This is book six in one of my favorite series! I am behind by only a couple but I am sure I will fix that soon. 🙂

Books read last week

  • When Night Comes – This was an interesting story about a young man who came to lecture for a professor he knows only to have some really strange nightmares on certain nights. He is a military historian and he would have vivid dreams about being in the battles he talked about almost like he was really there.
  • Crime Rib – Second book in the Food Lovers’ Village mysteries and it was pretty good. Grill off gone wrong. 🙂
  • Dread Nation – So decided to jump into some of my 2018 books now so I don’t forget about them. Just save the reviews for later. This wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for as I wanted lots of zombie action but it wasn’t that at all. 🙁

Currently reading

  • We Are Always Watching – I love me some Shea!!
  • Dark Exodus – Sequel to The Demonist and I hope it’s just as good. Just starting this one so not sure yet.

What might be up next

How was your week? What did you get?

Photoshop is so different from Illustrator so I am nervous, but I am sort of doing my own rendition of Little Red Riding Hood, so hope it turns out cool…lol.

I think it looks great so far. You will do just fine! Don’t be so worried!!!
    YAY! FALL!!! ;P

Devils unto Dust has lots of action, I had to force myself to stop again so I can go to sleep, I can’t wait t finish it. I am worried about Dread Nation! I was hoping for scary zombie book. I am still interested but don’t tell me, I might read that after my TBR book.

Have a great week, Stormi! Don’t be nervous!

I’m listening to the first Joy Ellis book and enjoying it. And reading Persons of Interest by Peter Grainger. The DC Smith books are definitely favorites of mine.

I’m looking forward to what you do with your Photoshop assignment, Stormi. Good luck with it. I use Photoshop Elements and don’t even use much of that so I’m always envious of the people who can use Photoshop!

I hope you have a good reading week.

It’s good to hear your Dad is feeling better. I have to start that Dakota Cassidy series, it sounds really good. I can’t wait to see your picture. I used Photoshop when I did digital scrapbooking but I forgot how to use it. I hope you have a great week!

Don’t be worried about your photo! I’m sure it will look great. Good to hear your Driving Miss Daisy duty has been relinquished. Our weather is still in the 90s but very cool in the mornings.

Glad to hear your dad is doing well. And I hear you on the weather- I like it cooling down a bit at night, but yeah winter- no thanks! I hope we get a nice long fall with moderate temps and sunshine lol.

Crime Rib- that cracks me up. 🙂

I really need to start the Joy Ellis series! It looks like something I’d love! The Food Village mysteries is another one I need to read. I read a recent one a few months ago and loved it so really need to go back and revisit it. I’m glad your dad is doing better. Getting his mobility back is a huge step! I can’t wait to see your photo shop picture! That sounds like a really fun project. Have a great week!

I’m a little sad to hear Dread Nation wasn’t what you were expecting. I’ll be reading it for review too. And I’m definitely ready for winter! But winter in California means the temps might get down in the 60s, lol.

I’m glad things are going well for you. As, I’m sure you can tell, I’m trying to get caught back up after being on vacation for more than a week. I feel like it has been more than a month since I visited. I missed everyone. I’m hoping I can stay caught up now. I can’t wait to see your Photoshop picture. Sounds like schooling is still going well.
