The Week In Review #131

March 19, 2017 Memes 15

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So this week was spring break at my college so I didn’t have my class, I was hoping to do some outside work in my garden but of course it had to get cold. It was cold all the way to Thursday and then it got warmer…errr. The weatherman thinks we might be into spring now and no more real cold weather coming so we shall see.

So I didn’t do a lot this week but clean on the house and work on my computer. I am trying to organize my wishlist on Goodreads and put my kindle books into their proper places in my Goodreads as either bought or free so I know what I bought and what I didn’t. Just some it will take forever to organize organizing so not like it will be done anytime soon. 🙂

Think I am going to have a new feature on my blog about binge watching. Maybe #bingewatch and it will be what I have been watching on Acorn TV or Netflix. 🙂

Other than that not much going on.

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Audio for review

So excited to have been contacted by the audible studio UK about reviewing some of their audios. I might have squeed about the Sherlock Holmes one a bit….lol. 🙂

  • Sherlock Holmes – This is a collection of Sherlock Holmes story narrated by Stephen Fry and it might take me a while to get through it…it’s long! 🙂
  • Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them – narrated by Eddie Redmayne so this one will be fun! 🙂

  • The Cruelest Month – Been wanting to read Louise Penny so this third book was on sale for 2.99 so thought best to grab it. Still have to get one and two eventually. 🙂 I can’t read out of order.
  • Up in Smoke – Okay so I will admit this was bought just because I couldn’t pass up ‘Gun Totting Grannies’ that was in the blurb…lol. .99
  • Black in White – I was curious and it was .99.
  • The Man in the Lower Ten and The Circular Staircase – I have been wanting to read some classic mysteries and second book here was mentioned in the Hallmark movie mystery series called Garage Sale Mystery, so I was curious…lol. .99 each

If they look cool make sure you check they are still free. 🙂

Books read last week

  • Hunted on the Fens – I really like this series and this was a good one with the cops being hunted by a bad guy!!
  • Mug Shot – Cute coffee themed cozy!
  • Every Trick in the Rook – I really like this bird themed cozy set in England. 🙂
  • My Lord the Spy – Cute clean historical romance.

Currently reading

  • Mystery at Maplemead Castle – Such fun!
  • The Crow Trap – Still working on this one and I am about 178 pages in and it’s 540 pages, so still got a ways to go…lol. I haven’t even gotten to where the cops come in yet…sighs.
  • Sherlock Holmes – This one will be here a while at 62 hours and I am currently about 4 hours into it and getting close to the end of The Study in Scarlet, the only Holmes book I have actually read after that everything will be new. I know that is horrible as I should have already read all these…lol.  🙂
  • A Lady in the Smoke – The book I will listen to in between spurts of Sherlock Holmes…lol.

What might be up next

The weather here got colder again. We are pretty seasonable right now with 40 degree highs. I’ve not read any Sherlock books. I do love Stephen Fry, though. 62 hours, wow. I thought The Stand was long at just under 48 hours. I started it, but had to stop because I got like 10 review books all of a sudden (it has be a great few weeks for new releases). Hope you have a great week

  2. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oooh nice new reads!! Lots of new to me ones there! It’s crazy how insane my review pile got in this last week! It was pretty tame and then all of a sudden I feel so overwhelmed! I feel like it wouldn’t be so bad if Netgalley didn’t hang that stupid ratio over my head! If you leave books sitting there for too long it goes down…at least I’m pretty sure it did! I notice it did this with me once. I try not to even look at it anymore! I think I have 3 in my queue now…and I have awhile until I can clear them it seems! LOL. I need a vacation so I can spend it reading!

Hope you enjoy all the new reads!

That is awesome about the UK audios! I’m excited for you! We’ve been out of town all week but this morning I can feel my garden telling me it’s time to get to work. It’ll be a week or two before I’m putting actual plants in but I do need to get to work on cleaning stuff out. Great job on the no NetGalley or Edelweiss! I’m afraid to go check the sites. Have a great week!

I bought the Sherlock audio collection, I’ve already read them all but it’s Stephen Fry! And 1 credit for nearly 72 hours of stories, talk about a bargain! I really hope you enjoy discovering all the stories you’ve not yet heard.

I just canceled my Netflix subscription. I got the email that I can watch until March 27th when my cycle ends. I think they are hoping I’ll change my mind. Honestly, I am thinking that too 🙂
Regardless, I am planning to binge watch some stuff this weekend before it goes.

I think the binge watch idea is a good one. always nice to see what people are watching. It was cold all last week for us but today is nice. Finally!

Hunted on the Fens looks really good!
