The Week In Review #122 ~Happy New Year!

January 1, 2017 Memes 20

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

Not much happened this week so not much to report. The weather here has been a bit erratic as it’s cold one day and really warm the next. Then Monday is going to be 60 and then Wednesday the low is 18!!! I mean what the heck! This is why I can’t get used to winter temps….lol.

Getting lots of audios listened too but my actual reading has hit a bump in the road but at least I am still reading via my ears! 🙂

2016 had it’s ups and downs so I am glad to get on with 2017 in hopes of some great things happening! 🙂 Happy New Years everyone!

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

  • Law and Disorder – by now I am sure ya’ll know I can’t pass up anything Heather Graham
  • Death in Advertising – nor can I pass up a cozy mystery…lol.

Audiobook (review from Tantor)

Audiobook (bought)

Bought (Kindle)

Forgot to post this last week but I won this on Caffeinated Book Reviews. Thanks Kimberly!!!

Books read last week

  • Skinwalker – Not sure if it was my mood or the writing style but I just didn’t enjoy this one as much as I thought I would.  Listening to the beast think in short sentences really drove me crazy.
  • Darkness Watching – This one I wasn’t sure of but was surprisingly good and can’t wait to see what happens next.
  • It Happened in Scotland – My first 2017 books as it comes on out the 3rd but I couldn’t wait as I love this Scottish series! It was so good!
  • Midsummer Night Mischief – First cozy in a while that I just couldn’t get into and I actually skipped around in it and got to the end to see whodunit…lol.
  • Buy a Whisker – Second book in the Second Chance Cat mysteries and it was really good and the killer surprised me in the end! 🙂

Currently reading

  • Stuck on  Stalked, which is horrible since I normally like this series. 🙁 If I don’t finish by this week it’s out.
  • Crime on the Fens – Book one of a new to me author crime series so I am excited. 🙂 Just started it  Saturday night so no opinion yet. 🙂

What might be up next

  • Torn between reading Dead and Breakfast and Little Heaven as they are both Jan. eARC’s and I want to read them both now…lol.
  • A Whisker of Trouble -this year I am trying to catch up on my series as I have so many started and hardly any caught up. So this is the first series I am working on. 🙂 I have two more audios after this one. Unless it’s a series I am just in love with I don’t read them back to back so I am putting another series in between…going to switch off and on…lol. 🙂

How was your week? What did you get?

I think audios helped my reading last year as well! 🙂 Over half my books were audio and probably will be again. 🙂

Both of your new books have been tempting me! I have a feeling all cave on the Heather Graham because like you I just can’t resist! I hate being stuck on a book and it’s even worse when it’s an author I usually enjoy because I have this glimmer of hope that it’ll get better when I really should just give up. Good luck on your challenges and happy New Year!

Yeah, I was really trying hard not to grab anything but I just can’t seem to resist Heather Graham and cozies…lol.

If you like your mysteries with some paranormal and romance then you should check out Heather Graham! My favorite is her Krewe of Hunters series.

I won’t tell you how many audios I have to review!!! Oi I inventoried getting ready for this year…lol. So be careful before you know it you will have a ton of them too. 🙂

Hey, technically those books were got last year. 😉 I am trying to do better, two is better than five. 🙂

Hope this first week of the new year is a great one!! 🙂

      Happy New Year!!

It’s a cute audio series and I won’t tell Booker T. 😉 Well, I can’t say the vehicle issues are all sorted out but dad did go and get a small loan and bought a truck and got it fixed up so it’s running but they still can’t figure out what is wrong with dads and mine is just parked as it cost too much to fix right now. 🙁 So we have one car and class starts next week so he will probably have to take me and pick me up, so thankfully it’s only two days a week.

18? Yikes you’re colder than us! lol although our is coming I’m sure. We actually were pretty cold, but today the sun came out and a bunch of snow melted.

Happy New Year and looking forward to your mystery reviews in 2017. 🙂

That is crazy weather! Our weather has been consistent which is a nice change lol. I am also buying up Heather Graham’s books. It seems like there is always a book of hers on sale. Happy New Year!

Oh my gosh! We have bipolar weather like that, although it never gets that cold here. It does make it hard to get used to things, and with the temps fluctuation so heavily just during any one day period, it is hard to know what to wear.
Seeing the cozy mysteries here makes me want to pick one up. I am in the middle of dozens of series, and really do enjoy them, but have been off in other genres lately.
