The Week In Review #120

December 18, 2016 Misc. 20

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? Β If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

The semester is over and at the same time my temp job is over as well. Next semester starts on Jan. 3rd and I am both nervous and excited to take my first graphic design course. Might see about getting settled into that before trying to find a new job as I need to see how that is going to go so I can get a job that works around things accordingly. The class is on Mondays and Wednesdays and is two hours long! Never had a class that long…lol.

I am so not ready for Christmas but ready for it to be over! πŸ™‚ It’s so cold here, but I know it’s colder elsewhere, I don’t see how you’ll do it!!! It’s supposed to be about 4 degrees tonight and snow but right now it’s more like freezing drizzle which is worse. πŸ™ I am so over winter and it hasn’t officially started yet. UGH.

Winter COYER has started!! I feel like the blackout name is appropriateΒ for snowy days…lol. You can still sign up!

If you haven’t signed up check out the New Release and Cloak and Dagger Challenges I co-host! Just click on the pic on the sidebar. πŸ™‚

What you might have missed on my blog

Books I have added

Netgalley/Edelweiss

Β Β
  • Elementary, She Read – I love anything Sherlock Holmes related. πŸ™‚
  • Spirit Hunters – Middle grade book about a haunted house.
  • The Worlds Greatest Detective – Middle Grade books with some young sleuths.

Thought I was doing so good with getting just one and then I went and checked out Edelweiss…lol.

Bought

  • The Strange Visitation at Wolfe Hall – Heard good things about this author so had this one on my wishlist and it went on sale for .99 so grabbed it. πŸ™‚

Freebie

Β

Gifted from Santa Paws (pretty sure I know who you are πŸ˜‰ )

  • Snowed – If you followed my 12 days of Horror I had this one listed as one I wanted that was on my wishlist. So now I have it and can’t wait to try it! Thank you Santa Paws!!! πŸ™‚

Books read last week

My reading sort of sucked this week…lol. I did manage to get in a really fun short cozy mystery on audio though. πŸ™‚

Currently reading

Β Β
  • Stalked – About 20% in but it’s kind of going slower than I hoped so thought I would have been done but wasn’t in the mood to read it.
  • Midsummer Night’s Mischief – Just started it for the Goodreads club I am in called Cozy Mystery Bingo, we had to read a cozy that mentioned a season.
  • Drained – It’s about a former cop now working as the new guy in the serial crimes unit of the FBI and right off the bat he catches a job about a serial killer in Chicago. I am about 45% into it and I like it so far.

What might be up next

Weather has gone balistic…lol. If it goes how the weatherman says tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40’s tomorrow so I have my fingers crossed. πŸ™‚

Yay for having a break! I am not quite ready for Christmas, but I’m close enough I’m not in a panic. Yet. lol I hope you enjoy your graphic design class. I’d love to take one, so I’ll be watching to see how you’re doing in yours. You’re my guinea pig. πŸ˜€

Breaks are nice. πŸ™‚ I am about as ready as I will ever be for Christmas but really ready for it to be over. πŸ™‚ Oh, I am so glad to be your guinea pig. πŸ™‚ I will be glad to tell you whether to try it or run for the hills. πŸ˜‰

Great bunch of books. Your semester starts a week earlier than my husbands. Thank heaven he only has two more classes then he is done. I pushed Feast of Souls aside for some Christmas titles. However, I’m looking forward to a scary January and am looking forward to out Tag Tam Title read. It’s nice to see people are getting gifts early this year. Hopefully you’ll enjoy all your upcoming titles.

I was a bit surprised that our started so early as I figured it would be about the second week of Jan. as well. A Scary January sounds fun, Feast might get pushed back as well, but I was trying. I am just not having as much reading time as I hoped lately. Can’t wait to tag team! πŸ™‚

I’m definitely doing Cloak and Dagger this year. I was going to do it last year but skipped all the challenges in ’16, so this year I’ll give it a go. πŸ™‚ Good luck with your class in the New Year! I’m about over the cold weather too- and 4 degrees! That’s colder than us, yikes. Stay warm!

Elementary, She Read and Nine of stars look good!

So glad your doing the Cloak and Dagger this year!! πŸ™‚ Something is not fair about that that you are up farther north and we are colder. πŸ™

I hope you enjoy your break. It’s a good time with the holidays and the weather being so cold. I hope your new classes go well and you find a new job. I haven’t been on Edelweiss or Netgalley but I have been buying some books. I’m participating in COYER but I don’t think I’ll ever clear out my Nook lol. I hope you have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I will enjoy it more if it would warm up just a tad, I can handle the 40’s if I have too but 4 degrees, that is just not right. I hate winter. πŸ™ Good for you for not being on EW or NG, I always think I am doing good then see something on someone’s blog…lol.

      Merry Christmas!

    • Stormi

You must be on the other side of the world then…lol. Either that or Flordia. πŸ™‚ It seems to be the only place in the US that isn’t cold.

    • Stormi

I would love me some 40 degrees that would feel like a heat wave right now…lol. πŸ™‚

I’m glad you’re looking forward to your new course Stormi and think it’s only natural you’d be a bit nervous…. but well done on finishing this semester.

And are you happy about the temp job finishing? (Time for a break, perhaps? Or were you hoping to stay there for longer?)

    Have a lovely holiday season!

    • Stormi

Yes and no one the temp job, it’s not my favorite job, but I did think it would last till maybe February.

    • Stormi

I can handle 50 but anything below that and I am freezing but if you are in a place where it doesn’t normally get 50 that can be really cold. Here a mild winter is 40’s and 50’s, this is the coldest we have been in a long time and I am so over it…lol. My mom was from California and anything under 70 and she was freezing, it surprises me how she survived out here…lol.

I’m not ready for Christmas, either:). So far this year, it’s been spookily mild although it’s all set to get windy and rainy later this week. So long as it doesn’t snow I can cope! We’re only really set up for drizzle here in the UK… Have a lovely Christmas and a mild one!
