The Week In Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?
So off the blog there is not much to talk about. Having Thanksgiving Saturday, Nov. 22nd. My cousin has a job in North Dakota and he has to go back to it Sunday, and won’t be here for Thanksgiving so we are upping it. So Friday, I spent most of the day baking and getting ready to go to my Aunt’s house. Good thing about this is on Thanksgiving day, I can sleep in and enjoy my day off cause I will have it all to myself..lol.
I experimented with a low carb sugar free pecan pie, it’s different but my dad liked it and that is what counts. He is diabetic and I am trying to get us onto a low carb lifestyle which is not that easy when you love all things carby..lol.
What you might have missed on the blog
ย Stormi’s review of Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery
Kathy’s review of Deadly Tasting by Jean-Pierre Alaux and Noรซl Balen
Kathy’s review of The Job by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldburg
Kathy’s review of ย Small Plate by Katherine Hall Page
Kathy’s review of Invisible Boy by Cornelia Read
Stormi’s review of Mission to Murder by Lynn Cahoon (audio)
So Kathy dominated the reviews this week, I really need to read faster. ๐ It would be nice to be able to blog ahead but I don’t read fast enough to get ahead. ๐
Books added this week
Netgalley….Nothing!!
Edelwiess:

I really did try to stay away from those two places this week, really I did! ๐
Bought:

Don’t normally go for contemporary romances much but this bundle was only .99 so couldn’t help but grab it..lol.

So did you get any good books this week? What are you reading?
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
I’m glad you’re trying to eat low-carb and no sugar to help your dad, Stormi! It must be hard if he’s the only one being careful.
YAY for being so good about Netgalley and Edelweiss! It’s so hard to stay away, and even harder to not request stuff…
I hope you’re enjoying Thanksgiving today, and that you’ll enjoy sleeping in and reading tomorrow.
ladystorm
If dad had his way he would just eat all carby, but I am trying to lose weight as well..and his doc told him he needs to lose about 30 pounds so he is trying to eat better and he has to eat what I do so if I eat healthier then he does..lol.
Thanks for stopping by!
Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun
My mom recently found out she’s diabetic, but she wont let me help her change her diet. She’s so stubborn and determined that she’ll eat what she wants. Its so frustrating when we go grocery shopping, especially when she has to go out of her way to find things high in carbs – seeing as we already eat low carb. Oh well, I’m glad your dad likes the pie and is more cooperative than my mom.
Happy Thanksgiving!!! And enjoy your Thursday to yourself too, that’s a great deal ๐
Terri M.
I’m in a similar situation, Berls!
Stormi, I’m glad the pie turned out. My husband and I have been trying to eat healthier. It’s definitely trial and error, but there are some great recipes out there.

It’s hard to change your eating habits, and I grew up on junk so it’s really hard for me..but in the long run maybe I will lose some weight, it would be nice to see what I look like thin..lol. ๐
I will be enjoying sleeping in on Thursday. ๐
Alyssa Susanna (The Eater of Books!)
I feel like those are the only two Harper books I DIDN’T download from Edelweiss ๐ I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fabulous weekend ๐
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!

Alyssa, it took all I had in me to just grab those two Harper books..lol. I hope you enjoy the other ones.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

My dad is diabetic and we always make sure to have something sugar free for him to enjoy while we all stuff out faces with the sweet stuff ๐
We really are failing at this ban of books till Jan. Oh well we can try again next week ๐
Have a great week, Stormi!! Happy Reading!
ladystorm
That is good that you make something for him. It’s hard to get my family and friends to understand that HE CAN’T HAVE THAT..as they feed it to him and he will eat it cause he wants it. ๐ Then I look like the bad guy for saying he isn’t suppose to have that because of the sugar content. ๐
My goal for this week is to not even peak at netgalley or edelweiss this week…will see if it works..lol.
Have a great week!

Hi – I also have THE JOB, but I have so may books ahead of it in the queue. I am on a book diet.
ladystorm
Hi Steph, I actually have The Job to read as well. Kathy always seem to beat me to punch..lol. I am trying to be a book diet but it’s not working. ๐
Have a great week!

I’ve been trying real hard to not grab any more books but I sometimes just can’t resist. That’s how I discover new authors.
My son and I are planning to spend Thanksgiving at home eating ham sandwiches and watching TV or playing video games.
Here’s my Sunday Post – “You know I want to. God, you know I do. But this can’t happen again” #TheMackenzieDuncanBoxSet by @Adrianne_James, coming Dec. 1st! http://fuonlyknew.com/2014/11/05/waiting-on-wednesday-the-mackenzie-duncan-box-set-feature-and-giveaway/

I am also thinking of renting a game or two to play around with on Thanksgiving day and through the weekend as I just don’t get to play as much as I use too..lol. I really want an xbox one..sighs. Not that I need it, but my favorite game Assassins Creed came out with a game only on the new systems..cries..oh well. ๐
ladystorm
Don’t feel bad, Stormi, I wanna read Etiquette and Espionage, and you’ve definitely beat me to the punch, lol.
As for reading ahead, that’s not a problem. My problem is writing the reviews once I’ve read the book!
– Kathy Davie
ladystorm
Whoo hoo, finally one I beat you too..lol. ๐ When you read as many as you do I bet it’s hard to get them all down for review..lol.

Mission to Murder looks good. I think it is wonderful you moved Thanksgiving day for family. Hope you all had a wonderful day!
Greg
Carbs… that would be hard to avoid, so if you can do that’s awesome. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving, I think it would be nice to kinda have that day off and relax.
Mission to Murder looks fun, glad to hear it was good.
Sharon
Those 99 cent bundles are hard to resist aren’t they. I’m the same. I have a few sitting on my kindle. I will get to them….eventually. ๐
Have a great week.
Nyze
My Mother in law is diabetic too and she’s stubborn since she eats everything she wants. Argghhh.
Have a great week ahead โฅ

Happy thanksgiving! Here in the Netherlands we don’t celebrate thanksgiving, so it will be anormal week for me. And yay for your low carb sugar free pecan pie experiment that was a succes. The cover for Ferals looks interesting and I am looking forward to your review of Etiguette and espionage!
Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library
My grandfather is diabetic and I’ve had better look with fruit based desserts than other things because you can use natural sugars easier. I make an apple pie that’s basically apples, some apple juice concentrate and cinnamon and it’s amazing! I haven’t really messed with low carb stuff too much though. Both books you’re reading now look interesting. The Carriger has been on my TBR for awhile but Hannon is new to me. Have a great week and a happy Thanksgiving!
