The Week In Review #11

November 15, 2014 Memes 24

Week ReviewWelcome to The Week In Review where I combine the meme’s Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? into one cool post!

So not a lot went on this week, work is going fine but is about to come to an end. It was only a seasonal job and I knew that but it was a job, so now I will have to try and find something new which is pretty hard in a small town. This one ends on Dec. 15 which sucks because it would be nice to have Christmas money..so got to start saving it up now.

What is up with this weather! I hate this time of the year, I live in Missouri so it’s always nice one day freezing the next this time of year but this Arctic Blast can just go right back up to the Arctic where it belongs. 🙂 I mean it’s suppose to snow tomorrow!! I know some people up north have already been hit pretty hard and I feel for you I do, but you’ll can keep that snow and cold weather up that way..lol.

Okay, so not much happening here…lol..just freezing and reading..hehe.

I did it again..hangs head..maybe I should just not try and ban myself cause it doesn’t work. 🙁 I am going to blame two of my grabs on Lexxie from Unconventional Book Reviews, she reviewed Tall Dark and Royal and I love that series..so I went looking for it and got it and the next book in the series. 🙂

Click on a picture and it takes you to goodreads.com.

Netgalley:

murderbookgroup How to Plan a wedding royal spy tall dark and royal

Print copies from the publishers:

heart of stone Stolen

I guess this means I really need to read Prodigal Son by Debra Mullins as it was book one and this is book two. Especially since I have it..lol. I haven’t heard of Stolen and I really do hate it when a publisher sends me the second book in a series I have never heard of without seeing if I needed the first one. 🙁 It looks cool by the cover..lol.

Thank you Tor and Penguin!

Bought:

The Whispers

I seen the review for this one on Caffeinated Book Reviewer and just went to check it out and and see it was only .99 so I just grabbed it..lol.

I went a little crazy adding books this past week, too, Stormi. I guess my good streak is over for now 🙂 I hope you’ll enjoy Tall, Dark and Royal! I’m so happy you got it 🙂

While I’m glad your job is going well, it’s too bad it’ll be over soon. Is there a chance you might find something else to do with them that is not seasonal? I’ll keep my fingers crossed just in case.

Enjoy your weekend and happy reading 🙂

Well, you knew I couldn’t stay away from that series..lol. 🙂

This is one of those jobs were the full time job postings are few and far in between and when they do have one all the part-timers jump on it so it’s hard to get in. I knew it was only seasonal going in but it was a job at the time. 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!!:)

You made this one sound really good, so I had to give it a try since it was so cheap..love finding new to me authors and good thrillers. 🙂

    • ladystorm

I love those surprise books as well it’s always fun to get a book in the mail. 🙂 That series by Vanessa Kelly is really good! 🙂

I know, what’s the deal with the cold weather?! I’m in Dallas and talking to Michelle in NJ and having similar temperatures! Not acceptable! Thank god no snow on my forecast though! Book bans don’t work for me either… I gave up and just made a budget lol

Good luck with the job thing – seasonal is better than nothing, but it does stink when it ends, especially right before Christmas 🙁

IT SNOWED TODAY! 🙁 I am so ready for spring. I hate cold weather and wish I was rich so I could have a winter home somewhere warm..tropic..lol. 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • ladystorm

If it’s not real cold I would rather have your rain than my snow..lol. I just want it to be spring again. 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

We’re up north a little and we do have the snow LOL. It was nice at first but.. it’s still snowing (can stop now please)and the roads are now a mess. Yay. So much for fall. 🙂 Have a good week and enjoy the new reads- several of them look good.

    • ladystorm

We got our first snow today and it can be our last as far as I am concerned..lol. I don’t think I could live up north..brrr.

      Thanks for stopping by!

I started gathering all my TBR physical books in preparation for the challenge ChapterBreak.net and Second Run Reviews is hosting in 2015. I’m starting to get a little freaked out by my shelf.

So what is this challenge your talking about for 2015? Though I really suck at challenges I still give them a try..lol. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Jessica

I know what you mean by the weather. I live in Kansas and it’s pretty much the same way. Last week it was in the 70s, now there’s snow on the ground!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your books!

    • ladystorm

I was hoping the snow was going to pass but it hit us on Sunday. 🙁 I am ready for spring. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

  6. Michelle@Because Reading

Sorry about the job I do hope you will find something else to get you through xmas. The weather is very wonky all over but I love my winter so I am very happy that it is so cold lol. No one else is 🙂

We are both stinking big time on the wait till Jan to request ban.

    • ladystorm

You may have all the winter weather you want as long as it stays up there..lol. 🙂 And yep we stink at the book banning. 🙂

  7. Katherine @ I Wish I Lived in a Library

Those Vanessa Kelly’s have been calling my name as well! They look like good reads. I’m sorry about the job. I hope you find something soon. I’m with you about this cold weather! It can definitely stay up north! Have a great week and enjoy your new books. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and your job search!

  8. Angie @Angela's Anxious Life

That’s too bad about your job. Small towns are very hard to find good jobs in. My husband and I are thinking of moving back to our home town but it’s small and I haven’t seen any jobs yet that he could do. Hoping one will pop up soon.

    • ladystorm

Yeah, I knew it was only temporary but it was a job. Until I lose more weight finding a job that I have to stand with is not in my future and that was a sit down job. Bad knees. 🙁 Thanks for stopping by!

  9. Sharon

I feel for you. I hate the cold too. You’ll need to cozy up in a nice warm blanket with a good book, yeah that should work. 😉
    Have a great week.
