The Week In Review #109

October 16, 2016 Misc. 18

BMR,OHMy (1) The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading?  If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So not a whole lot happened this week besides work and school but my father and I joined the local YMCA as they were having a special discount by this company that comes through and we could get 16 months for $44 for both use as a two person household. The guy who took us around and showed us the things you could do use to be a personal trainer and he was nice enough to meet with us Saturday on his day off when he was just going to be in there exercising to show us a few of the machines. (Our actual membership doesn’t start until Wed. as Dad is paying for it and that was when he  got paid.) He worked our arms and you can tell he was a trainer…lol. I can’t move my arms and we only did one set of 15 reps of each arm machine….so out of shape…lol. No pain no gain right. 🙂

Weather was cool for most of the week and now it’s back in the 80’s which I like. 🙂 Can I just keep the 70’s and 80’s and skip winter. 🙂

What you might have missed on my blog

Stormi’s reviews this weekOMG…I Did it Again!?, Masking for Trouble and Murder Strikes a Pose

Books read last week

dangled-up-in-threads ghoul-scouts shadow-house america-monsters
  • Dangling by a Thread – My favorite book so far in this series!
  • Ghoul Scouts – A fun spooky kids graphic novel! I can’t wait for the next one. 🙂
  • Shadow House -This one took some getting into but it was kind of creepy for a YA book.
  • American Monsters – Um, interesting and boring at the same time. I just don’t do well with non-fiction but I learnt there are a LOT of creatures out there…lol. (batsquach!!, werewolves, bigfoot, sea monsters, pigman, goat man, etc…lol)

Currently reading

And the trees crept in little boy blue guilty as cinnamon
  • And the Tree’s Crept In – This one is a bit confusing and so it’s slow going. I read a little and put it down, but I was told it will all make sense in the end so I am going to keep going. 🙂
  • Little Boy Blue – This is one of my favorite British crime series and it’s going pretty good so far but only about 20% in.
  • Guilty as Cinnamon – Second book in the Spice Shop Mysteries and just starting it.

What might be up next

These Shallow Graves is on my Wish List, for 1.99 I might have to grab it. You did just as bad as me this week with the book grabbing. lol we both have no will power.

Your arms will return to normal but that might take a lot of time lol. It might get worse before it gets better but don’t stop, I want to start running in the spring, just need to fix my eating during the winter. 🙂

Have a great week, Stormi! Miss you! Happy Reading!!! ox

I think I’m going to have to order And the Trees Crept In. My library still hasn’t got a copy. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on Shadow House when our reviews go up Tuesday. I am behind on book 2 of The Invisible Library series but did discover there are 2 more books scheduled. Me and the boys are glad we’re ribbing off on you!

Oh the ymca deal sounds great! And I know I’m weird, but I love it if I feel sore after a workout. Guess because I feel like it means it worked. Hope you get to have some great workouts now 🙂

    I know, I’m loving the weather and wish we could just skip the snow as well. Have a great week! {hugs}

The YMCA membership sounds fun and a great way to work out. Hope you enjoy. And I hear you on the weather- as much as I like fall and a bit of cooling off, winter is something else altogether and I could do without it. Let’s just skip to spring!

The Burning Page reminds me that I need to read book two of that series too, and The amateurs- love that cover! All the purple maybe but that style of cover has been working for me lately. Black Widow Forever Red is one I need to get, and 1.99? Cool. Suspended looks good, and Clammed. That’s funny about all the monsters out there. 🙂

How cool! I will admit I am intimidated by gyms. I had a membership a few years ago (the last year I was engaged) but I did not like going alone. And not being supported at home didn’t help either. When I move in June I am going to find somewhere to boxing, which my back doctor approved. I also will try a gym, but I need someone who uses the machines regularly to go around with me like the trainer did you you. The weather here is still in the 90s. I will take 70s/80s weather instead of winter, too!

I’m always a bit shocked when a NetGalley request comes through if it’s one I made a while earlier.

And yay re joining the YMCA. If it’s like the ones here they have a heap of options and classes etc that you can get involved with – and using the gym sounds great.

Sounds like you got a nice bargain on that membership! That FBI K9 series sounds interesting, I always like seeing animals in books. You sure got a lot of books these past few weeks and they all sound good. I have the first spice shop mystery on my wishlist as it sounds like a good one. Have a great week!

Hope your arms feel back to normal soon – it looks as if you have a bunch of books to heft around:). I thought Shadow House looked creepy, too… Hope you have a great week, both of you…
