The Week In Review #108

October 9, 2016 Misc. 21

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

I think being single means I have a pretty boring life cause I can’t think of anything interesting that happened this week…lol. Not saying being single is a bad thing just nothing to talk about. ๐Ÿ™‚ All I did was school, work, and read. Oh and start the Blog Ahead challenge which I am already behind in…lol.

The weather turned pretty cold during the nights and decent during the day though Saturday felt a bit more like winter than fall!!!! We had ICE on the windows, the weatherman said we would only get down to about 39 or 40 but I think he lied or I wouldn’t have ย had to scrap my windows!! Burr it was COLD!

What you might have missed on my blog

20161008_1559521
  • American Monsters – Monster-lore!!! Great for October!
  • Tooth and Claw – Paranormal series (book two in a series I haven’t started yet..yikes!) ๐Ÿ™‚
  • But For the Grace – Crime series (book two in a series I haven’t started yet, though I tried but they had a mix up on the CD and it wasn’t the book I was supposed to read, so had to wait for a new CD. ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Audiobooks from narrator/author

witchesย soul-solution
  • Witches – Got this one from the author and it looks really good.
  • Soul Solution -I was contacted by the narrator about this one and it’s a short one and sounded good. He is a Reaper! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks Kathryn and Eddie!

Bought (kindle)

So I went a little one click happy this week! (thank goodness some of it was with a 10 GC) ๐Ÿ™‚ I was going to add them, but I started getting a stomach ache and just wasn’t feeling well so I will post them all next week.

Books read last week

The Book Club Murdersย Masking for troubleย Murder in the secret garden
  • The Book Club Murders – This was a great cozy, kind of a cozy mystery romance!
  • Masking for Trouble – Great Halloween cozy read!
  • Murder in the Secret Garden – A good third installment of this series.

Currently reading

And the trees crept inย Last Seen Leavingย shadow-houseย lineage

Having trouble deciding what I want to read, I have actually started more than these but I am trying to stick with these…lol.

And the Trees Crept in is really weird and a bit confusing!

I just finished reading And The Trees Crept In. I’m not sure how I felt about it. I was pretty confused while reading it and it was such a strange book. I’m glad I made it to the end, but I’m still not entirely sure that I liked it.

Ice on the windows! Way too early for that! We haven’t had a frost here yet (and we’re north of you I think!) but it won’t be long. It has been chilly at night… The Book Club Murders looks good and Murder in the secret garden does too, as I’m a fan of her stuff.

I’m starting The Shadow House next. I seriously hope fall lasts a long tome because I’m not ready for winter. I actually had to dig out a sweatshirt this morning. I’m so not ready to start scraping ice. We have on the street parking so that’s always a problem.

No worries – I’m not very interesting either! I tend to be pretty routine oriented which means I rarely have something new and interesting to add. Ice on the windows? That’s crazy! It’s been getting into the 60s here in the evenings and I thought that was crazy. 30s and 40s definitely wins. Have a great week and I hope you’re feeling better!

I have been listening to the audio of Whoever Fights Monsters. Its okay, but its not really my favorite true crime book. Sometimes I think he goes off on tangents too much that lead to the story losing it flow! Oh well!
Enjoy your books and have a great week!

Some weeks it’s really hard to think of something to talk about, lol. Seems like you’re having some really cold weather already. Here it’s been cooler, but good autumn weather. I have to read Masking for Trouble soon, it sounds like a great one and I enjoyed the first book. Have a great week!

I’m the same on the single front Stormi. At least you’re a lot younger than me and still have time….

One of the reasons I enrolled in the Italian course was because I so rarely do stuff during the week and thought I’d sign up for something different!

I can’t believe your getting ice already. It’s been hot here and is supposed to get cooler. It is feeling chilly here in the early mornings and late night. You got a good book haul for this week. I have some Tantor audiobooks that I need to listen to the first book first. It’s so easy to get behind lol. I hope you have a great week!

Ice on the windows – brrr! We haven’t got the cold yet – though the weatherman is threatening an air frost in some parts of the UK – hopefully we won’t be that part. I HATE the cold! As for quiet – don’t knock it! Remember the old Chinese curse – ‘May you live in interesting times…’ I aspire to a boring middle age, but haven’t achieved it yet! Have another quiet week, Stormi:)
