The Week In Review #102

August 21, 2016 Memes 21

BMR,OHMy (1)The Week in Review is where I combine Stacking the Shelves, The Sunday Post and It’s Monday! What are you reading? ย If you have never joined in on these meme’s you can check them out by clicking on the meme and it will take you to the host blog.

So not much happened this week as I think I was just enjoying the week before my college courses start. I am getting so nervous! Monday will be my first day going back to college at the age of 41, I feel old all of a sudden. ๐Ÿ™

Oh and go figure first week of school and I get Jury Duty!!!! At least it’s on a day I don’t have classes so I will be okay if it’s only for one day more than that and ugh. ๐Ÿ™

So for some reason when I comment on some people’s blog, it seems my comment disappears. I know one person found it in spam. Not sure why it’s doing that but you might check your spam for me as I could be hanging out there. ๐Ÿ™ Anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

Also looking for some more mystery and horror lovers to follow so if you feature a lot of those type of books on your blog or know someone who does please leave a link. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh my goodness – Jury Duty AND new term at college! Best of luck with them both, Stormi. At least you can take a book along, so you won’t be bored with all the hanging about at court…

    • Stormi

Thanks, I am hoping I can get out of the Jury Duty…lol..or maybe it gets canceled. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Laura Thomas

Good luck with your classes, Stormi. I hope you share with us it goes. I had Jury Duty once. It was fun because I got the whole week off of work. LOL Someone else mentioned to me their comments were going to spam too. And I’ve had a few others show up in my spam that shouldn’t be there. Must be a gremlin roaming around wreaking havoc. LOL

    • Stormi

Thanks. Well at least I am not the only one having problems with my comments. ๐Ÿ™ That little gremlin needs to go away. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Michelle @Because Reading

If you tell them you are a student they shouldn’t put you on a jury. They might even let you go early.

I had a few people who visit my blog end up in Spam, might be something wordpress did or whatever security they have on there blog. You should ask nosegraze maybe she would know something.

I am putting my foot down young lady! Stop with all the books! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a great week, Stormi! Happy Reading (all those books) ox

Yeah, if it doesn’t get canceled then I will try the I’m a student card…lol. ๐Ÿ™‚ If it’s just a one-day thing I will be okay but if it goes more than that it will go into my second day of school. ๐Ÿ™

I tried real hard I did…see I only got one netgalley and it’s a series that I read and I am actually caught up on…lol.

I agree with Michelle about telling them you’re a student. I doubt it’ll be much of a problem though you may want to bring some proof you’re enrolled (like your bill) just in case. I had jury duty once but they sent it to my old address and I didn’t get it until the week before. I called them and asked if I could have an extension so I could arrange childcare because I was a SAHM and they were super nice and just cancelled it. I actually wouldn’t mind going at some point. Don’t worry about being older! I’m sure there will be times you feel old (but really it’s better – who would want to be 20 again) but I’ll be surprised if you’re the only non-traditional student. You’ll do great! Have a fantastic week!

If it doesn’t get canceled then I will try telling them I am a student and see what happens. I have a copy of my classes, but not my bill as it’s online.

I am sure there are other non-traditional students or at least I hope so I can have some classroom buddies! ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh my school and jury duty. You are 41? Heck lady I thought you were in your late 20’s..bwahaha. The spam thing is a pain in the arse. I go into some spam folders..not sure why. I have folks with over 800 approvals by me that still go to spam every time they comment. No idea why. Good luck with school you will rock it I am sure!

Yeah, I chalk that up to good genes…lol. My mom always looked younger than what she was. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hated it when I was younger but I don’t mind it so much now…lol.

  6. Laurel-Rain Snow

I hate getting the Jury Duty notification! So far, it’s been one of those where you call in the evening before and find out if you have to appear…and this goes on all week. Annoying. But so far, I haven’t had to actually appear since the 1980s.

I loved The Deep End, and had to immediately read the following two in the series (trilogy?).

    Enjoy…

I have actually found your comment in my spam folder, too. Not always, though. And luckily I discovered it, since I tend to check the spam folder regularly.

Maybe it’s your name “Stormy”? Mine ends up in people’s spam folders, too. I don’t think mine sounds like a real name. LOL.

    Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

I am calling the night before in hopes that it gets canceled…lol. I have served on a one day court case and it was boring but fun, so if it’s one day I can do it since it’s on my day off from school but if not then it will interfere and I will have to try and get out of it.

That comment thing seems to be happening a lot, I’ve seen several bloggers mention it now. Best of luck with your classes- you’ll do fine. So many people are going back to school I don’t think you can be too old… and 41’s not anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚ Little Boy Blue looks kinda freaky, and yay for The deep End. Love that series.

Horror/ mystery blogs… let’s see I know Book Den covers horror, don’t know if you follow her or not.

If you like crime novels with a bit of a dark character then you should try the Helen Grace series. Little Boy Blue is the newest one and Eeny Meeny is the first one. ๐Ÿ™‚

Not heard of Book Den so will look that one up. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Charlie @ Girl of 1000 Wonders

Good luck going back to school! I know it can be daunting, but your age doesn’t really matter. I had jury duty for the first time in the spring. It was during the same week as our state testing, so I was dismissed, but it was still a pain in the butt. The judge was super cool, though. I hope you have a great week!
