January 16, 2015 Memes 13

Friday 56The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda @ Freda’s Voice. It’s like Tuesday  Teaser but  you have a specific place in your read that you have to turn too to get your teaser.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple.

Captive

For the past two months, Kitty Doe’s life has been a lie. Forced to impersonate the Prime Minister’s niece, her frustration grows as her trust in her fake fiancé cracks, her real boyfriend is forbidden and the Blackcoats keep her in the dark more than ever.

But in the midst of discovering that her role in the Hart family may not be as coincidental as she thought, she’s accused of treason and is forced to face her greatest fear: Elsewhere. A prison where no one can escape.

As one shocking revelation leads to the next, Kitty learns the hard way that she can trust no one, not even the people she thought were on her side. With her back against the wall, Kitty wants to believe she’ll do whatever it takes to support the rebellion she believes in—but is she prepared to pay the ultimate price?

“Miss Hart, if you’d follow me,” said the first guard with an air of politeness I hoped no one intent on murdering me would bother using.

So I haven’t started Captive but it’s going to be my next read and so I just teased myself..lol. This teaser is found on the eARC at 56% and so it could be changed in the finished product.

It’s the second book in the series and I hope I enjoy it..I thought the first one was just okay.

I read Aimee Carter’s The Goddess Test back in 2011, and rather enjoyed the Greek mythology, don’t know why I haven’t picked up any of her books since. That snippet sure is promising! Thanks for the taste.

Why would anyone want her dead? Why is she being held anyway, what’d she do?
Oh boy, sounds good. Raises lots of questions. I’d read it. 🙂
    Happy weekend!
