Skye Thorn has given tarot card readings for years, and now her psychic visions are helping the police find the town’s missing golden girl. It’s no challenge—her readings have always been faked, but this time she has some insider knowledge. The kidnapping was supposed to be easy—no one would get hurt and she’d get the money she needs to start a new life. But a seemingly harmless prank has turned dark, and Skye realizes the people she’s involved with are willing to kill to get what they want and she must discover their true identity before it’s too late.
Here is what I thought
This is going to be a short review because I am not sure how to talk about it without giving to much away.
Skye is a fake psychic but she is good at reading people plus she is good at remember things about others. This is how she can read tarot cards and make it sound good. When a classmate goes missing it’s Skye who has a “vision” about things that has happened, it’s also because she knows what has happened. (That is no spoiler it’s in the blurb). Skye is not always a real likeable character, she is sometimes a bit annoying. She is not real reliable because she has lied in the past and is currently lying to her best friend. Drew her friend must really have a lot of patience.
At first when I was reading this I was really interested in it but then there was a reveal at about 36% and it kind of threw me off and I got a little bored. I kept going because I hoped the author had a plan in the works and boy did she because about the halfway point something else happens, but then that ending I just didn’t see it coming. Part of me thinks I should have but it threw me…lol.
Overall, I thought this was a pretty decent YA suspense novel.
