Here is what I thought
So by now you must know I am loving this series since I am just speeding through them! I love it!
My only problem is I forget to review one before starting the next one and then they start to fade into one another…lol.
So in this one Briar Creek gets treasure fever when some treasure hunters come to try and find Captain Kidd’s pirate treasure on one of the islands. Not everyone is happy about this especially Milton one of the towns historians and he is seen arguing with Trudi, the one who has brought the salvage company to Briar Creek.
When Trudi is found dead of course Milton is going to be one of the suspects but Lindsay can’t believe that nice old man capable of murder so she starts to investigate. There are a few people in town who Trudi rubbed the wrong way as she just wasn’t a real nice person but when a map goes missing it points Lindsay in a direction to at least check up on.
Also, Lindsay’s ex shows up trying to woo her back but she is not going to be wooed as she likes Sully and her life in Briar Creek but it does cause some problems. ๐
I think one of the things I like the most about this one besides Sully and Lindsay, is that the mystery of Ruby Island is finally solved so we at least know what happened there.
I have falling in love with this series and so I highly recommend it to any cozy lover!

I know what you mean about one story in a series melding into another. That happened to me with the Pegasus Quincy series! Thanks for this review. I sure like McKinlay’s play on words. (“Due or Die,” haha!)

I’m so thrilled you’re enjoying this one! I like this one better than the cupcake series that she has but I haven’t tried her Hat Shop series yet though I have the first three waiting for me.

I know what you mean about books running together. I have been on a reading binge and need to write some reviews. I’ll have to check out the author and the series.
