Science Fiction Book - Part 1 First Contact - Aoleon The Martian Girl
Crop circles magically appear in Farmer Johnson’s field. A mysterious light sweeps over the night sky and awakens Farmer Johnson and Gilbert, the boy next door.
Curious, Gilbert ventures out to discover the source of the light and stumbles into a beautiful Martian girl sitting in a crop circle. Farmer Johnson also investigates the strange light, and thinking that Gilbert and Aoléon are vandals, he chases them. But they sprint to Aoléon’s saucer and escape only to be pursued by the U.S. Air Force.
Gilbert has never been attacked by swarms of giant killer robots. Never met strange aliens from other worlds. Never skyboarded across a megalopolis hidden deep inside an extinct volcano. Never trekked across a vast Martian desert. And never been eaten alive by a gigantic slor (well, almost never, unless you count Billy the fat bully at school).
And luckily, he has never ever confronted an evil ruler of Mars bent on conquering the Earth to steal its cows.
This may be the adventure Gilbert always wished for.
If only he can survive.
Join Gilbert and Aoleon in this exciting middle-grade science fiction and fantasy adventure!
Gilbert Sullivan often had strange dreams the night before the circle makers came.
What I thought of this book
Though I’m not a huge sci-fi fan when I seen this series being review on Laura’s Ramblins and Reviews I knew that I wanted to try it, so I was happy to see that iRead Book Tours was having people review it.
Gilbert keeps having these weird and when one wakes him up he looks out his telescope to view the planets. His parents were fighting again and he wishes he could just be somewhere else and as he was thinking that he sees something weird in the sky. He quickly puts cloths on and goes and searches for what ever it was.
He finds a blue martian girl, Aoléon and at first he is frightened but then he realizes she is not bad, but the farmer whose land they are on might be! So they take off running and she takes him up in her ship. Once in the ship a lot of interesting things happen and it’s the beginning of a fun adventure.
I’m not sure who the illustrator is for this book series but the pictures are very bright and vibrant and look a little like stills from a video. Some of them really made me laugh they were really cute. I love the name of the girl because it’s a great play on words as it’s really just a fancy way of saying alien. 🙂
This is a great series for young readers and I really enjoyed part one and can’t wait to get to part two and see what kind of trouble the martian girl and her human friend, Gilbert can get into! I recommend it for young and old!
