Review of a few coloring books

January 7, 2017 Misc. 14

To my surprise a few weeks ago Simon and Schuster sent me three coloring books, these are my first coloring books since the coloring book crazy has happened. So the other day once I rounded up my colored pencils I decided to try them out and do a little coloring.

It’s been a long time since I colored and to be fair nowadays I would probably rather be reading than coloring but I found a compromise with listening to an audiobook while I colored. 🙂 It’s very relaxing while listening to a book.

Still working on my pages but here is a peak.

This is a page from In Bloom, it has a bunch of flower type pages, though I must say I am not a huge flower person. It still has some cool pages.

This is a page from Atelie Fashion, and it has a mixture of some really weird pictures, some that are really complex like this page and then others that don’t have as much detail.

This is a page from Color Me Mindful: Butterflies and it’s full of all sorts of butterflies along with flowers and a few beetles and other things that goes with butterflies. This is my favorite one of all and I can see me doing a lot of coloring in this one as I love butterflies!

I always loved coloring as a child and I can see how these coloring books can get someone hooked on coloring again. I am sure I will be doing some more coloring in the future.

Sorry if my pictures are not real bright, my phone doesn’t take great pics, but at least you can get an idea. 🙂

I love the idea of coloring while listening to an audio book! What a good idea. I have a few coloring books myself that I haven’t picked up in a while but I think I’ll fire up an audio book and do some coloring. It’s super cold (for Florida LOL) and perfect weather to stay indoors.

When I was just out of college, I worked in a call center. I used to bring in coloring books to work on when it was slow and we didn’t have calls. I just bought kids coloring books, Mickey Mouse or Looney Tunes, usually. I really liked them. I haven’t seen any of these new adult coloring books that’ve jumped out to me. I also colored with crayons, not pencils. I’m not sure that I would like pencils and the adult ones look like they might be hard to do with crayons. I haven’t thought about trying. I thought the same thing about audiobooks while coloring. I love what you’ve done so far.

I love kid coloring books they are fun!! I haven’t seen a lot of adult ones that have really caught my but there are some horror type ones out there that look really cool and I want those! I prefer crayons but your right they wouldn’t work so well on these to many little spots to color.
