Wow, a month is already down in 2019. I hate how fast they fly by. My January didn’t go so well but I am not fretting about it as it is what it is. I was in a reading slump and still not really back one hundred percent and then I got a viral infection and didn’t want to read then either so I read a grand total of 7 books and my Goodreads is officially laughing at me but that’s okay…lol. Not stressing my reading this year as I just feel like it’s going to be different.

What I read/listened to in the month of January

Challenges

Cloak and Dagger

Going to read at least 100

Jan – 4

Calendar of Mysteries

Failed my first challenge already as I ended up DNFing the pick for this and never found another one to fit it.

Pick a Theme

Each month I have a cozy theme

Jan – Food/drink – Pairing a Deception – So I was suppose to read two from my chosen theme but only really got one in unless I can cheat a little and count Assaulted Pretzel which has a food festival in the beginning but is mainly about a toy maker not food. 🙂

Homework assignment

I picked professor Genre and chose mysteries.

Jan – Success I read 4 mysteries!

Netgalley and Edelweiss

Need to read at least 25 this year

Jan – 4

What I hope to get to in February

Being sick always throws me for a loop. I never can understand those people who read lots of books with a 100+ degree fever. I can barely manage a sitcom when I’m feeling bad. Too bad about the challenges and in my opinion a DNF still counts for the first one. You gave it a try and actually picked it up to read it. Not your fault it wasn’t worth finishing! Hope you’re feeling better.

Your goals are amazing so even achieving most of them is brilliant.

Due to my chronic illness (MS), I’ve reduced my targets/challenges over the years – but still set too many. In terms of reading, I ensured that my challenges overlapped = Goodreads + Cloak and Dagger. So my three C&D reads plus one non-fiction and one game-adaption all kept me ahead for the month.

However, my writing suffered and I’m now behind on revising my next novel. Dang.

I am hoping February is more productive reading wise as it just feels weird to not being reading all the time…lol.
