There's no love lost between Harry Dresden, the only wizard in the Chicago phone book, and the White Council of Wizards, who find him brash and undisciplined. But war with the vampires has thinned their ranks, so the Council has drafted Harry as a Warden and assigned him to look into rumors of black magic in the Windy City.
As Harry adjusts to his new role, another problem arrives in the form of the tattooed and pierced daughter of an old friend, all grown-up and already in trouble. Her boyfriend is the only suspect in what looks like a supernatural assault straight out of a horror film. Malevolent entities that feed on fear are loose in Chicago, but it's all in a day's work for a wizard, his faithful dog, and a talking skull named Bob....

And the fun continues with the Dresden Files! I love this series!

In book 8 things are heating up between the vampires and the wizard council and things are so bad that they need to make Harry a Warden. Harry doesn’t want to be one but doesn’t have a lot of choice and the council still doesn’t care for him.

Things go from bad to worse for Harry when he has to help his friends daughter Molly who has been kind of doing a no-no with magic and not knowing it. It’s the kind of thing that could get her in lots of  trouble if it wasn’t for Harry.

I think this is one of my favorites in the series because it introduces Molly whom I have known from the graphic novels and it also shows how much Harry will do for those he cares about. He has always been a very generous man and wants the best for everyone but he really goes out on a limb in this one.

Highly recommend this series.

James Marster is the narrator and he is AWESOME!

The inspiration for the Sci Fi channel television series
In Chicago, someone has been killing practitioners of magic, those incapable of becoming full-fledged wizards. Shockingly, all the evidence points to Harry Dresden's half-brother, Thomas, as the murderer. Determined to clear his sibling's name, Harry uncovers a conspiracy within the White Council of Wizards that threatens not only him, but his nearest and dearest, too...

In book 9 someone is killing off practitioners of magic that can not become full fledged wizards and it seems that maybe Harry’s half brother might be involved. Harry doesn’t believe it but he wants to protect those who are in trouble and so he teams up with someone from his past to try and keep them safe.

I really enjoyed this one too as we get more Molly and her trying to control her abilities but also wanting to kind of get in on the action. As always Harry was great and I can’t wait to read the next one!!

Highly recommend this series!

James Marster is the narrator and awesome!
