Please welcome Emily Ford to my blog today. She is the author of Hell Town which I just reviewed a few days ago. It was an interesting and creepy read and if you want you can check out my review here.
Halloween has always been my favorite holiday! Of course, getting all the candy-candy-candy as a youngster during Trick or Treat was fun, but I love all the spookiness that comes with it. When I was 5 years old I got saw my first scary movie: Mr. Boogedy, a Walt Disney special. It scared me, but at the same time I loved the fear, suspense, and excitement. So every time I got together with my little 5 year old friends, we would eat macaroni and cheese and watch Mr. Boogedy over and over again. Since then, I’ve been hooked on Halloween, scary movies, haunted houses, haunted hayrides, and haunted everything! I prefer scary movies that have more realistic or Psychological horror, to those that just have a lot of limb lopping and blood squirting. But, I do love a good hack ‘em up monster movie when it’s well made! What scares me the most are things concerning possessions and demons, because I think they have a basis in reality. So, movies like The Exorcist, The Rite, and The Conjuring really creep me out. I mean, so many churches have their own exorcism departments. Makes you think, doesn’t it?! I recently conducted an interview with a real life Demonologist, who also happens to be a Minister. The night I received the interview questions back, I couldn’t sleep because the answers truly scared me. However, after getting over the initial “holy cow!” freak out response, I still think the whole subject is fascinating, I’ve included links to my interview with the Demonologist, for anyone interested!
